Tea by Julia Faye, Tea Room and Tea Store

My mom and I visited Julia this weekend and we had a fantastic time! Julia has a great personality and was a fantastic hostess. The teas were great (we had Keemun and Orange Blossom) and the sandwiches and sweets were top notch! I'd recommend this tea house to anyone celebrating a bridal or baby shower or just a girls afternoon out!

Our Book Club met today at Tea by Julia Faye's and we were wowed by the amazing experience. The raspberry and chai teas served with warm blueberry scones was so delicious, as was the rest of the meal. The room is cozy, whimsical and tastefully decorated. Service was excellent. Julia Faye and her staff were very attentive and professional. This was a very pleasant and memorable experience. I can't wait to go back to Tea by Julia Faye.

We hosted our in-laws 5oth wedding anniversary here and it was outstanding. Miss Faye is an extremely gracious hostess with a keen eye for detail and impeccable taste. Highly recommend it!

I have experienced a variety of tea rooms in the PA, NJ, MD and DC areas and am knowledgeable about the art of taking tea. My friend and I visited this tea room this past weekend and although the food was good, the tea preparation was sub-par. I watched as the tea was brewed. The server did not use a timer, and the tea was left to sit for too long. This ended up in our tea being tepid when first poured and with a sharp bitter finish which is what happens when the tea leaves are not removed promptly. There were only 4 tables in the entire place so busyness was not the issue. We were there from 2 pm until 3:38; at that time our cash tip was swiped away from the table and we were bid goodbye. We felt rushed. Sadly, I can't give this tea room a higher rating, and I do hope that tea preparation improves.

My cousin and I visited this tearoom today and had a wonderful time. It is small and intimate and had every touch of a cozy tea room. The food was excellent and I loved our tea selection which was the chai. The staff was cheerful, polite and friendly. We met the owner, Julia Faye, who was very personable and told us a little about the history of the place. I would definitely like to go back again.

We were in Maryland in October visiting family and friends. We were looking to visit a tea room since we've never been to one. We've looked at different reviews to decide which one to visit. Tea by Julia Faye was a last minute decision that we've made while driving in our car. It was the best decision that we've made. One of the main reasons that we picked this place was that it was child friendly. I wanted my 10 month old daughter to have this tea experience with me. Many other tea rooms don't allow children under 10. Julia was very accommodating. She got my daughter a high chair. She made a little mess, but we had a good time. The tea selection was good. The room was small and cozy. The food was excellent. My husband loved the hats. Unfortunately, we live in Hawaii, so we won't be back there anytime soon.

Had a wonderful time today at Tea by Julia Faye. It was our first time here and we were not disappointed! Food and tea were wonderul as was the service. Will definitely go again. My husband is british and he definitely gives this place a two thumbs up!

Overall, five star quality and service! Very relaxing atmosphere and adorable decor. The owner attended personally to our every need. This was the very first time my wife and I had high tea together. I was so impressed with everything from the food to the tea to the atmosphere, I strongly recommended Tea by Julia Faye to a friend of mine who is a gourmet chef. I know he and his wife will be very pleased.

This is a small, friendly tea room in a beautiful space. It was fairly busy, yet peaceful enough to have good conversation. We came in for a very quiet anniversary celebration, and we will be coming back as often as we can. What a treat!

I had my first high tea in MD with my BFF today and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is relaxing, it wasn't too loud and the background music blended right in with the place. At first I was suprised by how small the shop is but it was just enough for everyone to mingle with each other and feel at home. Julia, the shop owner, runs the place herself yet she was still able to attend to everyone and personally walk each one of us out. The tea was great and so was the food. We walked out stuffed and happy. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!

I had a small retirement party there and it was wonderful. the food was great. Everything about the place including Julia was terrific. I will have fond memories of the great day.

I visited Tea by Julia Faye for the second time yesterday, along with two companions, and this visit confirmed what I remembered from my first visit -- this is hands down, THE BEST TEA ROOM I have been to. A friend and I have visited at least one or 2 tea rooms per month, in MD, PA, VA, WV, and DE over the past 5 years,and I have personally visited tea rooms as far away as MA, NY and England, so saying this is my favorite is saying a lot. There are many wonderful tea rooms in the area, and at this point I have been to most at least once, but this one stands out because of excellence in a number of areas. First, the food is fabulous; freshly made and assembled while you are there; the amount of food for the price and quality is equally amazing. Julia's attention to detail makes even the... (more) ordinary seem special; for example, a pitcher of ice water with fresh sliced cucumber - you would not believe how good it tastes. The tea room is tucked in a quiet but lovely neighborhood in Baltimore, in the rear of an old Mansion and adjacent to garden for public viewing. The Tea Room is small, but bright, airy and very elegantly appointed. You feel refreshed and relaxed just walking in. Another selling point is the hospitality of the hostess; she is friendly, informative and fusses over you (in a very pleasant way) throughout your visit. There is no hustle and bustle here; in a prior visit she was assisted by her brother, who was equally hospitable and engaging. If you enjoy tea rooms, you must visit this place and I am certain you will share my enthusiasm. A few of my favorites from yesterday's visit were the cheese biscuit; broccoli cheese soup, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, mini sweet potato pie and mini cheese cake; I did not come across a single item that either disappointed me or struck me as ordinary. I had the pleasure of having my 2nd visit to Tea by Julia Faye, Tea Room. My noon luncheon was great. The tea room had a full house and the service was still great. The hostess was attentive and gracious. This lunch was extra special because I meet a friend there I had not seen in over 40 years. My afternoon was a complete success thanks to the ambiance of this wonderful setting and great food. Thanks Julia Faye!
