Variety: We experienced a lovely afternoon tea in late October at the Main Street Enchanted Tea Room. Our African Autumn rooibos tea was steeped perfectly, the sandwiches and pastries were delicious and the butternut squash soup was the best we've ever had. Our server, Katherine, was sweet and attentive. Sherry, the gracious owner, welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. When customers at a nearby table raved about the soup and requested the recipe, Sherry enthusiastically obliged them with patient detail. We've read the reviews on this website that were disappointed with the transition from old to new ownership, but, if there has been some 'bumpiness', it's definitely ironed out now. We enjoyed a relaxing, delicious afternoon in a beautiful tea room and are looking forward to returning. |

Variety: The new management is keeping up the high standards of this tea room! Service was lovely. The food was excellent, especially the butternut squash soup prepared with local produce. This tea room is definitely worth a visit! |

Variety: my mother and i ate here on the 18th of july we had also been on the friday a week prior. when we visited on the friday, our server, the manager, Kelly took care of us, it was an awesome experience! kelly was gracious, insightful, knowledgeable , very pleasant. we could tell she has been in the business for a very long time. now when we came back a week later, Kelly wasn't there. the girl who took care of us was also very polite and attentative but didn't have the charisma and confidence that kelly had. also, the owner came out and she was frazzled, perspiring and almost unsure of herself. it was a little uncomfortable when she was at our table definitely a different atmosphere than the previous visit. will go back....when kelly is working |

Variety: My daughter and I visited on July 25, 2009 and had an excellent experience. The food was wonderful, the server was gracious, and the new owner was very nice when she came to our table to ask us about our visit. I highly recommend this delightful tea room that is in the heart of Berlin. |

Variety: I visited Main street Enchanted Tearoom on Saturday July 18, 2009. I was, sad to say, very dissapointed. After visiting Tea by the Sea in the past, I was extremely dissapointed in the service and attitude of the new owner. Sherry seemed very frazilled and dissorganized. She introduced herself and told us that she was the new owner. Her appearance and personality was less than desirable. We had anticipated the same high standards set by the previous owners, Stacie and Robin. The presentation of the food was average at best. Unfortanely all good things must come to an end and this will be the end of my visits to this tearoom! |

Variety: My sister & I attended Tea by the Sea in May '09. Under new ownership, now known as Main Street Enchanted Tea Room ( a bit too long in title), We had a wonderful experience. Sherry, the owner & food preparer was very hospitable. The foods were prepared with excellence & very 'eye' appealing. Teas were pleasant as well. |

Variety: From the beautiful teapots & cups to the linen napkins & tablecloths, this tearoom is the perfect example of what a tearoom should be. The food was amazing, the tea and the tea selection was wonderful, it was hard to choose! |

Variety: It's easy to see why TEA BY The SEA is becoming on of the most popular tearooms on the Eastern Seaboard. The atmosphere is charming as is the hostess and co-owner, Stacie Lippy. The choice of teas and the home-made pastries and sandwiches are superb. I often find very unique recipes here - and now am delighted that I can take home my own cookbook to enjoy. I have enjoyed tea from London to New York and Chicago, etc but this tearoom is authentic and by far my favorite. The price is very reasonable as well. Good luck and Bon Appetit! |

Variety: Last night we had a lovely Holiday High Tea at Tea by the Sea. We had heard good things about it and the reviews were stellar, so we were very excited to visit and were expecting great things. The piano music and atmosphere did not disappoint and the food, while a bit repetitious, was excellent. However, we were rather dismayed by the slow and frazzled service. I'm not sure if they were just extremely short-handed or if this is the normal staffing situation, but we were left for long stretches with no tea (which was delightful, when we had it), even after requesting it from our server. Half our party was missed when dessert was served and forgotten until much later. Though the lack of service was noted by our server, it was not really apologized for. This was a special event with a large group, so it may have been overwhelming; I'd like to go bsck on a slower day, when I might have a better service experience. |
