Overview

The Tea Hive is antique to Sussex County. It is located less than one mile from Newton in the beautiful, bucolic countryside of Fredon, New Jersey. It is a place where one can get away from the hustle and bustle of life and relax and enjoy an elegant tea lunch, a variety of afternoon teas, or just tea for one in the ambiance of an historic house, built in 1793. Tea and refreshments will be served on antique china. Each individual will have their own teapot filled with their choice of tea from over 20 selections.

When you visit The Tea Hive, and you simply must, you will 'bee' in for a rare 'tea party' dining experience. At the Tea Hive the tea not only represents the delightful brews served, but taste, elegance, and authenticity. The Tea Hive is a marvelous combination of English elegance and country charm. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy serving you.

I have been coming to the Tea Hive for a number of years and look forward to it every time. Just walking through the door puts me in a different world. The food is gourmet on every level. The teas are the best. I've been to other tea rooms and there is no comparison.I can't say enough about the Tea Hive. The staff is super friendly and I'm glad I was introduced to this hidden treasure.

Love the Tea Hive!! Been dining there for many years. Food is always delicious. The ambiance is relaxing, elegant and quaint at the same time. The menu has MANY choices for everyone, my husband loves it there too! Prices are very reasonable and portions are plenty. The desserts are to die for! And everyone is always friendly and pleasant. Have seen some bridal and/or baby showers there as well and it looks like a wonderful time for ladies to come together. Would highly recommend!! :)

I visited the Tea Hive today and I was so disappointed. First disappointment was the food. All openfaced sandwiches that had no flavor. Very bland and the bread was stale. Although the new england clam chowder was delicious, the portion was absolutly tiny. The first pot of tea was okay, Spiced Pear, but I couldn't taste the pear only the spice. The second pot was very good but the teapot didn't pour correctly and I ended up spilling alot while pouring. Over all the Tea Hive was a waste of 60.00 for two.
