My sister and I stop in for a spot of tea whenever we are shopping in the Altoona area. It is just the place to relax and rejuvinate! What I love about it is that you get the kind of quality service (and knowledge of teas) that makes it so enjoyable, yet you are given enough space and privacy to carry on conversations without constant interruptions. Joe and staff make you feel welcome to stay as long as you like! I always find something interesting to purchase from the fantastic selection of tea-related items too. I would highly recommend this little slice of heaven when feeling the need for some TLC and a great cup of tea!

I have known Joe for several years, and really appreciate his knowledge of tea, and love the teas he has at his tea room. Now that my husband and I have our own tea cafe very close to Joe, I get a lot of my loose teas from him, and my guests love the teas. I recommend Joe to my cafe guests, and tell them for selections of tea, there is no better place to go. Joe and I support each other in the community, and we appreciate that he sends lunch guests to us. He and his staff are a blessing to our community!

i spend a part of every day at this delightful tea room; each visitor is warmly welcomed by joe doyle, the proprietor.connie and roseanne are also so helpful.
this is my seventh year of learning about tea and i am still in class 101!! joe is so well informed as to the history of tea and the availability of so many different varieties.
i've made many new friends thanks to joe's opening of this shoppe. we are all healthier for drinking tea, sharing stories, and having some good times.
i am never at a loss for gift giving anymore. tea certificates or a beautiful basket created by joe...containing what you choose..tea pots, honey, special sugars and wonderful teas..
yes, i feel better now, becasue tomorrow is tuesday and at the tea merchant, that is the first day of the week!
