My friend and I found this tearoom to be just wonderful! The food served was remarkable, from the tea sandwiches & mini quiche to the scones with devonshire cream, strawberry jam and lemon curd and the deserts. Much better food than we usually receive in tea rooms and plenty of it! The tearoom itself is very pretty and the servers were very attentive and friendly. Keep up the good work Tea Rose! We will be back!

I love going to tea; I seek out tea rooms where ever I go and I was so excited to recieve an invitation to a baby shower at this tea room because I have never been here. It was wonderful, a little hectic of course because there were so many people attending the shower and that makes it a little hard to sit and really enjoy the whole experience. As I left I made a reservation for a day that I can come back and take my time and relax. I'm really looking forward to it!

I had afternoon tea at this lovely tearoom for the first time yesterday, which had been highly recommended by a woman that I work with. The atmosphere is very cozy and the service was top notch. They have an extensive list of teas, both traditional and flavored. My friend and I chose the strawberry shorkcake tea and it was so good, we bought tins to bring home! The scones, tea sandwiches and deserts were fresh and delicious. The chicken salad was absolutely the best I have ever tasted! They have lovely boutiques also and after tea, we had fun shopping. Although the drive is quite long (we live in Clearwater), we plan on coming again and again. Certainly worth the trip, we highly recommend this beautiful tea room also.

I also have attended tea at Tea Rose Cottage several times in the past few years they have been in business. Not only did I have my eldest daughters bridal shower there, my youngest daughter had her 16th birthday party there. It has never been anything less then exceptional. The ladies that own this tea room are always so pleasant and accommodating including when I called at the last minute to make a reservation for Mother’s Day weekend. I was told that they were at the time fully booked and they put me on a cancellation list. As they said it was possible that it would happen, another party did cancel and my daughters and I were able to go to tea for Mother’s Day. Of the dozen or so tables in the house only two or three were EMPTY, the place was packed, I’ve never seen it quite so fu... (more)

My children, friends and I have visited Tea Rose Cottage many times beginning in May 2007. I have always encountered pleasant, cheerful and warm service whether on the telephone or in person. The food is excellent and the teas are delicious. The tea list is extensive! I have purchased tins of the loose tea to enjoy at home with my family and friends.

The rooms are so bright and cheerful, just like the owners and staff.

We will be back again and again and thank you for your hospitality.

I do have the right tea room. An easy mistake with the names. It was Angela who I spoke with regarding adding one person to the party to make it 5. Your tea room was empty upon arrival and only 2 other tables seated. I was expecting people out the door with the way 'the busiest weekend of the year' sounded like. Good luck.

tearoom response
Diane,

Thank you for clarifying that for us. Yes you do have the right tea room; Angela does work here, she is one of the owners and is with whom you spoke on the phone including when you called to ask about your bill. We are sorry you feel you were mistreated on the phone but happy you came to tea and you and your guests enjoyed everything. We also understand that not all tearooms are suited for every individual and we sincerely hope you are able to find one that fits your needs.

I went to tea at Tea Rose Cottage this weekend for the first time. I have never been to tea at all anywhere. I went with my mom and my sister, who frequently go to this tearoom. I live in Arizona and the minute I got home I came on this web site so I could look up where there is a tea room in my area so I could go to tea with my friends. I absolutely loved it and wished I lived in Tampa so I could go as frequently as my mother and sister do! I didn’t really think I liked hot tea, but we had strawberry shortcake tea and I even bought a tin of it to bring home with me. Everything was so wonderful and tasty. The whole house is just adorable and you feel so feminine and girly there. I’m coming back to Tampa in August and you bet I’m going to be making a reservation for tea!

I made my reservation in March for May for 4 people. I called 3 days prior to the date and asked if I could add another person. The woman Amanda was rude and said it was impossible due to it being the biggest weekend for them (Mother's Day) and asked a few times for me to cancel. I called back pleading to add the 12 year old girl to our table and she said she would but we would probably have to wait to be seated. We arrived at 12:35 for our 1 pm seating. There was a pary of 4 leaving and the place was EMPTY!!!! The hour we spent there were only 2 other tables filled. How could they be so thoughtless threatening to cancel my seating telling me it would be too crowded. I may thank them by not referring anyone again.

I've been to Tea Rose Cottage several times in the past few years they have been open and will continue to go back again and again. I look forward to going each time. I took my book group (a group of 10 ladies) last weekend and they have all been e-mailing and talking to me about it ever since. We had a lovely time drinking tea, eating all the delicious treats and talking about our current novel we are reading. I have a feeling this might be the new spot my book group will keep returning to with each new book we read! Thank you Tea Rose Cottage ladies for always making me feel special when I come to tea, whether alone or with friends. Also thank you for being so accommodating to my book club! Cheers!

I just love this tea room! It is so pretty and charming, when you are inside you forget your in Tampa! The presentation of the food was wonderful and the food itself was delicious. The shops were also very nice. I am bringing my Mom here for Mother's Day and I know she will love it too! I highly recommend this tea room!

I highly recommend this tea room for after-church tea on Sunday as it is one of the only tea rooms open. Because the food is of such high quality and beautifully presented, I would also recommend this tea room on ANY day that it is open. I am so thankful to have found this tea room. I frequently attend their Sunday afternoon tea seatings. It’s so nice to wake up on Sunday mornings, attend church service and then relax and be pampered with family and friends over a cup of tea. I work very hard during the week and lose contact with what’s most important in my life and this tea room has allowed me to get back in touch with all the good things. The atmosphere is pleasant, relaxing and very charming. The service is exceptionally friendly. Most important the food and tea are delicious every time I go. I highly recommend this tearoom! Thank you so much for being open on Sunday’s and please don’t ever change that!

I visited Tea Rose Cottage yesterday for the first time and was absolutely enchanted! Its really pretty and cozy inside. The food was actually a lot better than I have had in other tearooms (especially the chicken salad croissant - yum!), and we got to chose from a wide variety of teas. The service was exceptional. All in all, we had a wonderful time. This is our new favorite tearoom and we look forward to going back again & again!

There's the best - and then the rest. This tea room is THE BEST. I went there when it first opened and was a bit concerned when I heard that it transferred ownership - sometimes tea rooms lose their appear under new owners. This is not the case here. The tea room is beautiful without being pretentious. The space isn't cramped. The service is outstanding and the food is what one would expect for tea. With the trolley rolling by, you really get the feeling that you have been transported to another time. I highly recommend this tea room.

This place is so pretty, with a great mixture of the cozy & elegant! (Love your chandeliers!) The food and the atmosphere was just perfect, and (although I am usually a coffee drinker), I just loved the tea we chose, along with the pretty tea cups! The music was perfect & very relaxing. The servers (Jennifer & Angela) made me feel pampered in a way that I realized I had not been pampered in a long, long time!! I stressed out over giving this shower and Angela and Jennie helped me with all my questions and concerns and put up with my craziness and for that I thank them very much! I looked at several tea rooms in the area and this one was the one that worked perfect for my event and by far the most accommodating in every way. There were 20 ladies that attended the shower. The first thing I thought of when I walked into this tearoom was how cheerful! The tearoom has a lovely little gift shop and is full of bright sunny windows. We were greeted promptly and given a lovely table for two. The tea selection was very nice and we were both very pleased with our choice. The food was wonderful as well and they were able to accommodate me being a vegetarian very nicely. The service was friendly and the presentation beautiful. Robin,

We think you wrote a review for the wrong tearoom. There is no Denise or Diane that works here at Tea Rose Cottage. Here at Tea Rose Cottage the owners, Angela, Jennie and Ruth would be happy to talk to you about a bridal shower as we can seat up to 35. Feel free to call us for information. If you decide to go with Sofia's tea room, that is a wonderful choice as well and you will enjoy your tea very much. Tell Sophia we said hello!

I just got back from Tea Rose Cottage tea room. I attended their Valentines Day tea and it was fabulous. Four of my girlfriends from work took the afternoon and went to tea to celebrate our friendship on Valentines Day. It was just lovely. We had chocolate dipped strawberry tea, cucumber sandwiches shaped liked hearts, raspberry white chocolate scones, and scrumptious desserts including cheesecakes and chocolate dipped strawberries. The atmosphere was set so romantic with fresh rose peddles on the tables and candles. There were several couples having tea together as well as us 5 ladies and everyone seemed to be having a pleasant experience. I've been to this tearoom before and will continue to go back, but this day was exceptionally wonderful. Thank you tea room ladies keep up the good work!

I visit Tea Rose Cottage quite frequently with friends and family for their afternoon tea, but also during the busy work week I sometimes come with co-workers, and on occasion by myself, on our lunch break, for a pot of tea and a plate of tea sandwiches. We just give the ladies at the tearoom a quick call ahead to make sure they have availability and we pop in and relax for a bit to enjoy some yummy food and hot tea (which they prepare ahead of time for us so we have plenty of time and don’t feel rushed) and then pop back out to the office. Like many of you ladies out there, I'm an avid tea room visiter; I hop around all over town trying out all the different tea rooms. I was visiting family here in Tampa for the holidays and they brought me here to Tea Rose Cottage for afternoon tea. It was absolutely delightful! I see why the ladies I came with adore it so much and I look forward to returning when I'm in town again. The only problem I see is that they are ranked #2 and in my book they are #1! Any tea room that gives me a big bowl of Devon cream and not a little wimpy serving is #1 with me! Thanks for the lovely afternoon ladies and Happy New Year!

I went to tea at Tea Rose Cottage this past weekend with my mother and my 6 year old daughter. We had a wonderful time. Some tearooms are kind of snooty about bringing children, but this was a wonderful experience. My daughter loved her little tea sandwiches, mini scone and her 'pink tea' which was just pink lemonade but it made her so happy! This is one on the most beautiful tearooms I have been to, however, as far as I'm concerned, that's all this place has going for it! The food is mediocre and not at all worth the money. Also on two different occasions my young daughter and I happened to be in the area and stopped for a pot of tea and some scones...BOTH times we were turned away for lack of available food (scones). Eventhough it clearly states on their menu: Reservations are needed for afternoon tea. BUT that
WALK-IN WELCOME when seating is available for all other tea service. Don't be fooled if you do not have a reservation they will not hesitate to turn you away!! Nice customer service!!!! I will never go back there again!!

tearoom response
Kristen,

We would like to apologize for your confusion as we no longer, and for some time now, have been able to accommodate walk-in customers. At Tea Rose Cottage, we stick strictly to our afternoon tea seatings by reservation only and do not have a menu to order from. All signage or other materials have been changed that say otherwise. Not all tearooms are suited for every individual and we sincerely hope you are able to find one that fits your needs.

I had a wonderful time at Tea Rose Cottage! It is a beautifully decorated little cottage, wonderful service, friendly smiles, yummy food and so many different flavors of tea to choose from! We were able to pick the type of tea and flavor that we wanted from a wide selection. Each of the 4 people I was with chose a different tea and I was so surprised that we were able to do this! We were then able to try each others flavors throughout our tea time, it was so fun! I have been to many tea rooms and usually there is a 'tea of the day' and this was so refreshing that we could choose. Since there is so many to pick from it keeps me wanting to go back and try them all!
