Variety: Maureen and Andy helped us plan a surprise 'Granny' shower/tea for the first of our college group to become a grandmother. They were amazingly accommodating, and very hospitable since our group was having way too much fun to leave at the designated hour! Thanks so much Barstow House Tea Room! |

The pleasure was ours! Your 'granny' group was having so much fun, how could we not enjoy it, too? Thanks for choosing The Barstow House for your 'shower.' I hope you'll visit us again! (Even if there are not special events coming up in your group!)

Variety: My two sisters and I had a wonderful afternoon having tea at the Barstow House. It was a wonderfully relaxing way to end the summer and prepare for a new school year. The host and hostess were very accomodating and the food, scones and teas were excellent. We are talking of a return trip as and it should be a definite visit on everyone's list of tea houses. Thanks for a wonderful time. |

Variety: I've had the pleasure of having afternoon tea at the Barstow House twice. What a wonderful way to spend the afternoon! From the warm and cozy atmosphere to the nice variety of Republic of Tea teas and Adaigo teas and the delicious tea sandwiches and homemade scones there is a relaxing fit for everyone. Andy and Maureen are very gracious hosts willing to share their knowledge of tea and the history of their home. Thank you for opening your home to others and creating fond memories for myself, family and friends. Hope to see you soon! |

Variety: Our weekend at the Barstow House was warm, cozy, and quiet which was just what we were looking for on a cold snowy January weekend. The food was very good and of course we enjoyed the Adagio teas. Our hosts were wonderful and the bed was comfortable. Thanks again for a relaxing weekend. |

Variety: How wonderful to experience a tea in this quaint, warm, Victorian atmoshere at the Barstow House. Along with the wonderful Adagio and Republic of Tea teas, one gets a charming bit of history of the origin and the difference between high and low teas. The teas are steeped to perfection! Along with the choice of teas, you are offered delicious homemade sandwiches and desserts. The homemade scones are delectable! The hosts are warm, friendly and cheerful. The service is supreme and one is never uncomfortable. The leisurley tea allows for conversation and good times. I highly recommend it and will be going back several times this summer. |

Variety: The Barstow House is a GEM! Reservations are a must as this tearoom is actually in the dining room of the B & B. The room is quaint and full of local lore and antiques. The food is to die for! Sandwiches include my favorite, the egg salad. Even my fussy daughter loves the egg salad here. In the summer veggies on sandwiches are fresh and local! The creme brulee is yummy and the tart aux pomme will not disappoint. My favorites are the homeade scones and Devonshire cream. All the teas are from the Republic of Tea and full leaf. You get to choose three teas for your party. The peach ginger is my favorite starter tea. Since there are three courses each tea comes in a different tea pot, the cups are vintage and make you feel as if you stepped back in time. With each c... (more) |
