My uncle, a dearest of dear friends, and I enjoyed tea at the Butterfly Tea Room just recently. Sometimes, the setting is lovely, and the food and service are lacking. But at this lovely little shop, everything - from the greeting at the door to the last drop of tea, was such a delight!
I could easily go very frequently, if this cheerful tea room wasn't in NJ and I in Colorado!

What a disappointment. Maybe we hit on an off day.

What a fabulous find in Cape May! A beautiful Tea Room in a lovely row of pastel-colored stores. The butterfly theme was very well done and very cheerful. The tea selection had something for everyone! I shared afternoon tea with my kids (16 & 18) and we loved it! We started by choosing our very own teapot from an extensive collection! I loved my Precious Moments teapot design.

The finger sandwiches, sweetbreads and desserts were excellent and service was extraordinary. Would love to see some more varieties of scones!

We will absolutely go back next time we are in Cape May and will highly recommend The Butterfly Tea Room to anyone visiting.

I've been a patron of this tearoom since it opened in 2007. A visit to Cape May just isn't complete until you taste the scones, lemon curd, tea sandwiches and baked treats from Peg's shop. Summer heat won't ruin your tea room visit because you can refresh yourself with giant goblets of iced tea if you choose to. The 'butterfly' theme is carried throughout the shop in decorations and displays. Absolutely delightful!
