Variety: My mom and I enjoyed our wonderful tea experience at The English Rose. The food was delicious and our server, Anne, was sweet and helpful. A perfect afternoon! |

Variety: The tea shop is a nice experience but the tables are so small everyone has to choose one tea. There are not enough room on the table for individual choices. The food is good but not outstanding. Service is good but the place is small and can get noisy. It is a bit too frou-frou in decor to bring a male. |

Variety: Who doesn't love a tearoom? This one is even better than the others and truly worth a visit. The perfect place for heart-to-heart talks. I've gone there with girlfriends and you feel like a little girl in a dream! My most favorite memory of going there though was for my daughter's 16th birthday for which they FAR EXCEEDED my dreams. We sat on a little love seat next to each other, they wrote Happy Birthday on the flower plate in chocolate, had beautiful flowers, etc. Thank you! |

Variety: My children and I love going to tea at the English Rose. Most recently we took my grandmother for Christmas tea. She loved it, too! You feel like a queen the moment you sit down as you are greeted with warm, scented hand towels. The decor and atmosphere are beautifully done in sage green and rose pink. Lisa and her staff are warm and attentive. The food is tasty from the savories to the warm scones and lemon curd. We were impressed by the presentation. It is a local treasure! |

Variety: After having been to tea in various locations, including Victoria B.C, Atlanta, GA, and Dallas, TX, I returned to the English Rose Tearoom because it remains my favorite. Not only the decor, the food and the teas are excellent, the presentation and service are wonderful well. The servers couldn't be nicer, and I enjoy experiencing the new teas they offer, and purchasing some to take back to friends. Return trips to CA will definitely include a visit to the English Rose. |

Variety: This is one of the loveliest tea rooms I've ever seen and it is very comfortable. My sister has been a long time customer and I recently got to have the best tea I've ever had while I was visiting from Arizona. The owner and her staff are very welcoming and kind and can answer questions with ease and skill. The service is top rate and I have even called to special order packaged teas to be mailed to me by phone and had very quick and kind service. An experience not to be missed! |

Variety: I love the English Rose so much I take my toddler with me to have tea once a week. We both look forward to it all week! The tea selection is extensive(my favorite is Lover's Leap), and the food is incredible! I especially love the scones. As soon as you walk through the doors it feels as if you've gone back in time to an era that is less rushed and more personal and intimate. You will leave feeling pampered, relaxed and ready to plan your next visit! |

Variety: I brought my wife for High Tea and had a most excellant experience. Never before had I been to proper tea, nor any experience so rife with sumptuous delicacies, amenable ambiance, delightful and attentive service, and a near magical selection of fine tea. I highly recommend the ENGLISH ROSE for 'close encounters of the spousal kind', father/daughter dates, friends; PLUS birthday parties. What an addition to to the old time charm of Pleasanton's Main Street! |

Variety: The English Rose in downtown Pleasanton is one of the finest you will experience even compared to the ones in England. The setting is exquisite with hand painted furniture, crystal chandeliers, and beautiful stenciling. The decor is gorgeous yet the space is comfortable and cozy- perfect for a quiet, intimate time with a dear friend and appropriate for a business meeting. The food is scrumptous and I have never seen a more extensive tea list(lavender lace is my favorite)- something for everyone. My husband even enjoys the tea room and the savories are hearty enough for him. The tea room provides a small gift shop as well. You will be spoiled by the excellent service and the warm hand towels scented with lavender. Go enjoy this little piece of heaven-it is like taking a mini vacation! You deserve it! |

The selection of treats that come with tea are beautifully displayed and quite tasty. The tearoom is beautifully decorated and lots of lovely items on display and items to purchase also. It is great for tea for a couple friends, as well as having tea with larger group. The staff goes out of their way to make the tea time a fantastic experience. Every morsel of the freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam and tea sandwiches so beautifully arranged along with the delightful choice of teas served in the elegant china teapots made me feel like a queen. The staff is all very knowedgeable about the teas and they are pleasant and friendly. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! For yourself or for a gift for someone else. |

Variety: The English Rose Tea Room has the most original and largest selection of teas I have ever seen. The food is traditional and very tasty, but it's the staff and the beauty of this place that make it a must-visit. The servers are attentive and helpful but not invasive. The setting was developed with the same great care as the food and tea to deliver a uniquely peaceful experience. I heartily recommend The English Rose Tea Room. |

Variety: I took my friend Virginia (88 yrs of age) for tea this past weekend. We always try to have 'tea' during the Christmas holidays. What wonderful memories we will have of this day! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like 'Royalty'! Our server 'Cyndi' was so delightful. It was a blessing to know that the owner and staff were 'Women of God'. Our favorite tea that day was 'Gingerbread'. Thank you for making our day so special. Happy Holidays to all of you. God Bless |

Variety: The English Rose is beyond wonderful. Today we had our office Christmas party and the service was outstanding. This is the third large party I have planned with The English Rose and each time I walk away feeling Blessed because the food is yummy, the tea is soothing and abundant and the time spent with family and friends feels me with JOY! Being there makes us all feel like true Ladies and it seems to make all the problems in the world go away. I loved The English Rose so much the first time I went in that I painted my home the same colors, so in essences when I go there it is like going home. Make the trip to taste the tea and Petit Fours and you will walk away a happier more satisfied person! Service ROCKS TOO!!! |

Variety: The English Rose provided an absolutely remarkable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were treated as if the staff had been excitedly anticipating our arrival (and we weren't late!). They were not only pleasant, but extremely knowledgeable about all the teas and foods served. We were cared for with such attentiveness and professionalism, yet in a very personable manner, as well. The teas and foods were delectable! The variety, the presentation, and the flavors all combined made us truly feel like were eating the foods of royalty! Knowing that the owner and staff are women of God and true followers of Jesus enhanced the experience even more! What a ministry to the Pleasanton community and now that the secret is out, the WORLD! Long live The English Rose! |

Variety: From the pictures on the site, I expected a cute tea room. I was not disappointed. So cheery and inviting. Since it was the Thanksgiving weekend it was a little crowded and noisy, but the staff was pleasant and very helpful with our selection on teas. I do want to make a note about the Princess Tea that my daughter enjoyed. I was served very pretty. I have already told others about thr English Rose and plan to return. |

Variety: The English Rose is one of my all time favorite places! We discovered this great little escape a few years ago with my Mother's Group. Between 3 of us we have 7 sons (no daughters) and very little opportunity for ourselves much less time to be 'girlie'. The English Rose has become our place to get together, reconnect and feel fabulous all while drinking delicious tea and eating delightful finger foods and desserts. We love the special touches they add to the menu around the holidays and the little indulgences that are there year round like warm, lavender scented towels and lotion to moisturize with after your meal. We consider ourselves 'regulars' and make sure to never let more than a month or so pass without making another appointment. I would recommend The English Rose to anyone, any age, any gender. |
|
- Renee 11/20/08 |

Variety: I went along with my wife to this teahouse with fairly low expectations, I'm not exactly the kind of dude who goes to teahouses. I was pleasantly suprised, the server was really nice, she even found a teapot for me with cowboys on it. The food was really good, and most suprisingly there was enough food that I wasn't still hungry afterwards. My wife and daughter had a great time, I have taken them a few times now and plan to continue to visit. |
|

Variety: Going out for tea has become a passion for me. My friends and family are always taking me to differenct tea places, but I can say with heartfelt sincerity that there is 'no place like The English Rose!' The other tearooms pale in comparison. I brought my cousin for her birthday recently and we were enchanted with the experience. The tea was fabulous, and the food was out of this world. The scones were perfection as was all of the delightful treats that were served. The tearoom itself is charming. If you would like to be transported to another world for an afternoon, please visit The English Rose! |

Variety: My mother & I have been coming to this tearoom since they opened in the tradition that my grandmother began when I was a little girl. The service is always spectacular, and you always get the impression that these lovely ladies really enjoy what they do. The food is also superb, and sitting at any of their gorgeous tables is always a delight, to take your pick from leopard print and roses or any of their other beautiful assortments. Absolutely any of the tea ladies who you can have the pleasure of meeting are excellent, personable, and extremely sweet, and it is always a pleasure to see the owner as well. I would recommend this teahouse to anyone and can't wait until I can return. |

Variety: In several years of enjoying high tea, my experience at The English Rose Team Room was the best ever! The food was beautifully-presented and delicious; the service was exceptional. Commitment to excellence was in evidence in every detail. To start, the gracious and attentive hostess brought a warm, lavender-infused towel to each guest to cleanse the fingers prior to partaking the exquisite offerings. She replenished lemon curd and clotted cream without prompting, and asked if the teapots needed to be refilled prior to their becoming empty. Recommended most enthusiastically, with gratitude! |

Variety: This was my first experience in a tea room. We drove 2 1/2 hours just to visit the English Rose, to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was worth the drive! I loved the special touches like our server passing out warm, lavendar scented wash cloths in the beginning, and after we were finished she offered hand lotion. What a fun treat! It was fun to select from the wide variety of tea offered, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. The tea room's owner was there and she is a delightfully warm and welcoming person. Her servers seemed very happy to work for her and very dedicated to their jobs. I highly recommend this tea room. |

Variety: Our experience at The English Rose was so precious! The atmosphere was very calming, feminine, sunny, and nostalgic. Most important to our group was that there was an atmosphere of the Peace of God pervading the place. The staff was friendly, helpful, and generous. They were knowledgeable about the tea they served, as well as the food (of which there was a wide and delicious variety). We had a wonderful time, and though we drove about 2-1/2 hours to get there, it was well worth it! I hope to go back for my daughter's 13th birthday in the Spring!! |
|
- Trish Thompson 10/26/08 |

Variety: Wow! I love this place. I just went there for the second time today and it was even better than my last visit. The tea sandwiches were tasty and fulfilling - I could not even eat half of the offering. The special tea for today was a southern pecan and it was very good. The room is absolutely beautiful. I just love it! |

Variety: When you enter The English Rose, you step back in time when we weren't so rushed and had so many 'busy' things to do, what a delight! It's a time to sit back, relax and enjoy the company of friends, or even a good book while sipping one of the many teas offered as well as being able to enjoy the delicasies of The English Rose. The decor is quite relaxing and beautiful and you won't be disappointed when you visit The English Rose. I have been there at least 5 times and look forward to my next visit. |

Variety: My 12 year old daughter and I discovered the English Rose about a year ago and have been visiting once a month since. It is always a special occasion. The staff is always wonderful, very kind and helpful and very knowledgeable about the teas and the menu. The food is very good. There is a new menu about every month. It includes tea sandwiches, small tarts, fresh fruit and wonderful small sweets, including petit fours. We usually go around lunchtime and always leave well satisfied. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing. The decor is adorable, lots of pink and roses, always fresh roses on the tables and the food servers. Small towels are brought to the tables to freshen up with and scented lotion after the tea. If you have a chance do visit the English Rose. You won't be disappointed. |

Variety: I went to my friend Diana (see review below)'s 17th birthday party, and as I walked in, I was impressed and charmed by the setting and artistry of the entire room. It was cute, quaint, and everything I associated with an English tea party. The teas were excellent, the service was friendly and open, and the food was sublime. I had a wonderful time there and I am planning to go back sometime this year. |

Variety: A fabulous tea-extravaganza! On this visit to The English Rose, a group of us (7 Total), enjoyed a wide variety of lovely teas, accompanied by a wonderful selection of tasty treats. The service was top notch. Our server was very informative about the teas, and answered any questions about the teas we had. The decor was reminiscent of an old English Home, decorated with touches of Roses. Warm, welcoming and fun! Don't miss this experience....visit them with your favorite girlfriends soon! You will be glad you did... |

The owner is absolutely adorable and the staff are all so wonderful. I wish we lived closer so we were able to go more often. Good thing they can ship the loose tea, which can also make a great gift! Thanks English Rose! |

Variety: I'm a big high tea person and have high expectations when it comes to having high tea. We recently we able to stop at The English Rose to enjoy an afternoon of tea. The decor is cute very English. They have a nice selection of teas. The walls were a bit scuffed (paint completely gone) from people rubbing their chairs up against the wall. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and our table was ready and waiting for us. On Saturday's you can only get the Queens Tea which is $23.00 per person. This is a full service tea which is what I always get when going to high tea however I've never seen it be a required or only option to guests. They have a pretty generous tea selection the only thing I didn't like is most tea houses will give you a description of the teas especially ... (more) |

Variety: Whenever I travel I like to try tearooms in the area. The English Rose is one of the most beautiful, tranquil I have ever seen. There was a great selection of delicious teas and the savories were some of the best I have ever eaten. Whenever I am in the area I plan on coming back to The English Rose. |

Variety: Two lady friends and I drove from the Vally to take tea at The English Rose Tea Shop. We found the salon, gift area and outside patio beautifully appointed and decorated in chic European style! It was the first time since London, that we took tea at a settee and armed chairs with low tea table (instead of a dining table with chairs - delightful! Lynn and her knowledgeable staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable! We enjoyed our loose leaf teas very much. I had the house blend and found it to be a particularly good blend of black teas. We ordered the Queen's Tea and were a little taken aback that the savories were a spicy chorizo pocket, a spicy Mexican bean mixture in a cone burrito and one of the sandwiches was an Aram rollup filled with bland rice and avocado?! We found these selections incongruent with the otherwise lovely 'English' Tea experience here. We recommend the Duchess Anna's Tea (without the savories) and will try it and the lovelky patio on next excursion! |

Variety: Loved everything except the food -- who serves chorizo puffs at a british tea shop?! Also the scones were more like biscuits. On the plus side, the lemon curd was good and the rest of the food was adequate. |
