Variety: This is by far one of the prettiest, shabby-chic tea rooms in Florida. We had hot and iced tea and both were delicious. We also had the chicken salad and the chocolate cake. We visit Mt. Dora several times per year and always try to stop here when in town. The only suggestion I would make is that the many curtains and other lacey items used to add the softness and warmth to the tea room are getting a little dingy and gray and need a little washing - that's it! |

Variety: I did enjoy my meal but the service was lacking friendliness and the outdoor seat was on a slope and was quite uncomfortable. I like to explore different tearooms, but my favorite is still the one in my hometown of Sanford. |

Variety: I recently visited the Garden Gate Tearoom for my birthday. My mom had called ahead to mention that she (along with my dad and myself) would be in the tearoom celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival, the owners of the tearoom had prepared a table ahead and it was covered in rose petals. I was so amazed!! The food was superb (the salmon souffle) and they sang happy birthday while presenting a white rose to me. I felt the presence of God there and was moved beyond words. Thank you Garden Gate tearoom for making my day such a special one. My parents will not forget it either. God bless always, Angela. |

Variety: We recently attended a 50th wedding anniversary celebration at the tea room and everything was wonderful. The atmosphere and the decor are outstanding and the food was fabulous. I can't wait to go back for tea next time I visit Florida!! |

Variety: I live in Canada and well have been to this teahouse twice now. Every time we go to florida we make a trip to Mt. Dora, just so we can eat at the teahouse. Love this place. |

Variety: We gladly drive an hour to take each of our out of town guests to Mt. Dora to have lunch at the Garden Gate. We've never been disappointed with the atmosphere, food or service and we always look forward to the next time we can introduce our guests to this special place. |

Variety: Today, Nov.03,07 my husband and I had a delicious lunch at this tea room. We both enjoyed the chicken pie and we were glad to see the servings were not skimpy. The desserts are home made and yummy. The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. The individual rooms are decorated with a lot of lace, tea pots and china cups but don't hesitate to bring 'Mr Wonderful' along. Believe me you'll be glad you did and so will he. |
