I went to High Tea with two good friends and had a wonderful experience. The food and tea were both excellent, as well as the presentation given on the history of how High Tea came about. The things I took issue with were: the price (almost double that of what more authentic tea rooms charge that I've been to), the food was not what I would call 'authentic' English high tea food - much more...European small-bites appetizers and confections, we were told what tea we were having rather than seeing a tea menu to choose, and the courses felt rushed. I love House of Clarendon, and it was an experience that I wanted to have tea there, but I probably won't go again.

I took my mother here last year for mother's day and it was a great experience. The history of tea was explained along with the inside scoop that you normally wouldn't hear. Very interesting! The only thing that was annoying was the staff rushed the courses. The plates were still being cleared while I was trying to finish the tea sandwiches.

The food presentation was wonderful. Atmosphere comfortable, however, for the cost of the tea for two- food was lacking. My guest and I expected soup, salad or finger sandwiches. The video tea presentation contained information that needed to be updated.
