As a tea professional I am highly critical of tearooms because I know the good from the bad. The Huckleberry Tearoom is outstanding. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone... in fact, I do!

As I often travel from TX to KS and NE, I now plan to stop at The Huckleberry Tea House as often as I possibly can. I just enjoyed my second visit, especially the divine strawberry soup and the tasty BLT sandwich (although I forget its creative name). The raspberry iced tea was mild and delicious even though I was disappointed that there were only 3-4 iced options (yes, I am a tea room neophite and had hoped that all of the 30 hot teas would be available as iced). While the eating area is decorated with feminine Victorian charm, I didn't feel uncomfortable in my very casual (ok, sloppy) travel attire. The very new policy of not accepting credit/debit cards (I happened to be there on its first day) was posted near the entry, but I didn't see it until I returned to that area to pay and thankfully but unusually had the cash amount I needed. I would have appreciated a mention of this policy added to the menu or mentioned by the staff as plastic was accepted on my previous visit.

Kay, I will certainly take your suggestions to heart and work on them. It is the only way we can grow and overcome our deficits. Thanks for your understanding about our Credit Card policy change. Hope to see you again very soon.

I'm here from Davenport, IA and was taken for a nice lunch out by a dear friend. What a special day that I won't forget soon! I loved the food presentation and charming atmosphere. A bit disappointed on service....when the server did come over, she was WONDERFUL. But it took some time to get her attention to order desserts, ask questions, etc. They were busy, but not full at the time. It won't keep me from coming back soon--and bringing a friend too!

We came to the area from Parkville MO yesterday to visit my grandmother for her 88th Birthday. I took my mother, and my 2 daughters with me and we wanted to take GMa out for lunch today and away from her assisted living facility. My aunt had recommended this quaint little 'tea' room to us. We were THRILLED (and I must admit surprised) at our experience. Even my 16 year old daughter was impressed - and that is a tough feat these days (being a teenager and having to spend a weekend with family - UGH!). We will definitely be back and I can't wait to tell my friends about it. I even found a neat gift to bring home to my hubby. Thank you Lois for a wonderful time!

Kelly, Your group was SO MUCH FUN. I certainly enjoy your '3 generation' party. Please come back again as soon as possible. I enjoyed your girls so much.

The only thing that keeps this from excellent is that I want to go back again and be able to review it UP to excellent. It was a nice atmosphere that reminds you of a small girls tea party that you can even play dress-up with the hats and boas that they have available. It was a fun place to visit that I want to take my daughters to.

Brenda, Thank you for stopping by. We certainly enjoyed seeing you at the Huckleberry. I hope that you have FUN each time you stop by and we will try extra hard to show your daughters a great time when you bring them in.

Our bus tour had a delightful lunch at the Huckleberry House and it was wonderful. We had a delicious iced Black Current tea as well as a Cinnamon Spice hot tea with our dessert. Lois is a charming hostess, telling us the story of how the shop came to exist, and during a demonstration of the player piano she even got some of the guys dancing. Food was delicious, we had chicken salad on croissant, chilled strawberry soup and a very nice green salad, and dessert was white and chocolate cake with brittle chips. Every server was friendly, fast and watchful for somebody needing something.

Don't let Concordia be just a town along your route, stop at Huckleberry House for a delightful break. We will!

I had a wonderful time. The food was great and Lois made us feel right at home. The truth be told -I don't care for tea. HOWEVER, I tried the raspberry tea and it was very good. THEN I had the Darjeeling tea. OMG I LOVED IT. Thank you for sharing your knowledge of tea and allowing me to discover that quality tea made properly is something that I enjoy very much. I can't wait to go back!

This is my 2nd trip to Huckleberry Tea House, and it is just incredible! Lois is the most friendly hostess, and makes you feel so welcome! The food is not only DELICIOUS, but so attractive with all the added touches to make it special! From the little 'dress up for tea' idea, to the actual tea, coffee, Smoothies, incredible cappuccino, thru soup, sandwich, and dessert, it is a special experience from beginning to end! Thanks Lois and girls.

I stop in whenever I am in the area (which isn't often enough!). Lois is constantly making wonderful improvements where I thought no more improvements could be made!! A great little gift shop, beautiful player piano, dress up items are great fun, etc. She has a wide variety of teas, each with a description so you know just what you're getting. The food is amazing, and if the large variety offered is too overwhelming, just get the Emeline! :)

We love to come to the Huckleberry Teahouse. The food, decor and service is the best anywhere. And real tea brewed and served hot is the best and such a variety to chose from. This should be the number one teahouse in the state. Can't wait for my next visit.

Connie Jo. What a great friend you have become. Thanks for your support of the Huckleberry. Also thanks for helping serve the tea samples, while I was speaking at your December Quilting meeting. I had such fun. Hope to see you soon..........Lois
