The Rolling Pin is not a typical 'tea house' and does not serve 'high tea' etc. They are more like a cafe and everything is ordered a la carte. This is one of my favorite places! The food is excellent - the salads, soups and sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. The scones and desserts are also always fresh and delectible - try the lemon bars, zucchini bread and chocolate cake - all are excellent. My only complaint is that the waitresses never ask if I need a refill on my iced tea and I have to seek them out. This place gets busy, but is well worth the wait!

Although the Rolling Pin is quaint and the food very fresh, the service is disgraceful- rudeness with a smile as opposed to service

with a smile. I meeting my friend and her 4yr old daughter for lunch. Before I even GOT there, the waitress repeatedly told my friend

that she would have to give up her table if I didn't arrive soon. I arrived 6 mins later luckily. My poor friend couldn't even order and enjoy a cup of tea while she waited for me. Then they rushed us along , brought the check , tried twice to clear our food while we

were eating! I was embarressed infront of friend as I had recommended the place. A tea room? Not even close! It's a diner with scones.

I would not necessarily say this is a tea place, but more of a bakery with great home style meals. The restaurant is small, so during some busy times you may have to wait a little bit, but it is so worth it. Every time I go (which is often) I have loved everything I ate, and even my mother liked it (and she is so picky). I highly recommend Rolling Pin for a great meal, but if you're looking for a real tea room experience, this isn't the place.

I love Rolling Pin Cafe! I go for my lunch hour about once a month. It's always very, very crowded so get there around 11:30am to get a good seat. If you come anytime between 12-1:30pm you will have to wait. The sweet potato salad is great and the sandwiches are always super fresh and delicious. The lemonade is also wonderful. I usually get a 1/2 & 1/2 - where you pick two - soup, salad or sandwich and get half of each. It's a good deal for really good food!

Great place for a nice lunch! The food is excellent...The scones are fantastic! and dessert is even better! The only problem is that it is a small place so it's hard to get a table...

Unfortunately, they are not a tea-room and don't do English-style 'tea' as a meal. I have been in there twice - both times, the server was REALLY slow, and I felt that it was overpriced. The food was, however, very good.

I thought the place was ok, but I am really looking forward to the new Mara's cafe opening up on Jefferson ave. I have been to the one in Denville, and it was great. It has a wonderful mix of tea, coffee, lunch/dinner & gelato.

Rolling Pin Cafe is absolutely delightful! I wouldn't consider it a teahouse, but rather a fabulous lunch restaurant with a great selection of bagged teas. If you're looking for fresh tea leaves and tea pots, Rolling Pin Cafe isn't the place. As a restaurant goes though, the food is unparalled and the atmosphere is quaint and extremely enjoyable. I would recommend breakfast or lunch here any day!
