Sad to see this wonderful old tea house has closed it's doors October 2013. You will be missed.

Stopped by the Ruby Pear on the way from NC to MI after seeing the advertisement in Tea Time magazine. Food was excellent and appreciated the variety which did not depend heavily on sweets. Staff was delightful and will definitely return when in the area.

I too have experienced tea rooms all over the country and feel there is not one that beats The Ruby Pear. Their scones are to die for and food is delicious. Every tea room has their own way and the warm, friendly and gracious staff here was a welcome change. We loved it very much and will be back!!!

My friend and I go to tearooms in many states. We feel that we have experienced a variety of styles and ways of serving tea. We go to have a relaxed and special time together. The rooms were lovely and the tables were nicely spread out so that the noise level was conducive to great conversation. However, after ordering, we received our salad, soup, sandwich, scones and lemon curd ALL at the sames time! There was barely any room on the table! The food was good, but nothing outstanding. The tea was tasty and the server and greeter were very pleasant, however we would not travel several hours again to the Ruby Pear.
