This was my first trip to Shady Gables and I fell in love with tea! I was with a larger group (15+) and the staff met our needs well. We tried Apple Spice, Mississippi Mud, Strawberry Shortcake, and Lover's Leap from the multitude of tea choices. The croissant and biscuit offerings were delicious. I loved the lemon curd! We enjoyed trying on hats and the wonderful atmosphere to sit, laugh, and visit. I'm planning a trip to take my daughters and granddaughters back in the summer.

I have been visiting Shady Gables for approximately 9 years and have taken many of my friends with me to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of gracious service and excellent food.
I make the trip from Harrisonville, Mo and always enjoy my visit and of course shopping for all those beautiful tea pots. I have aquired many from the tea house for my collection. I have been to several tea houses in and around my hometown but Shady Gables is my absolute favorite.

As we walked into the Shady Gables Tea Room, it was a transformation in time, taking us back 100 years, to a time of simple and elegant pleasures. Such an enchanting experience!
This residence still maintains the original hard wood flooring, wallpaper and victorian charm throughout. A very quaint and breathtaking experience.
We were greeted by a gracious host and were promptly seated to begin our traditional 'High Tea'. There are 3 different rooms available for seating and to enhance the experience, turn of the century hats are available to make your visit to Shady Gables even more elegant.
The tea selection is incredible and if you don't see a blend that inspires you, the staff will help you create your own special blend.
While relaxing and enjoying our tea, we leisure... (more)

The tea and food were delicious as well! The management and staff were very gracious. All in all, this was a delightful memory made!

I'm a 26 year old guy so my wife had to talk me in to having a tea party. The food is worth it! She'll never convince me to put on a dress-up hat but I'm hooked on tea and scones.

Not being much of a tea drinker, I was a bit apprehensive when my longtime bridge group suggested an outing to Shady Gables. What a surprise! A charming old Victorian house beautifully decorated for Christmas, an excellant assortment of teas, great food and a dashing host(also the town mayor) made for a memorable experience enjoyed by all. I look forward to our next trip.

One of the most magical places to spend an afternoon! The tea is excellent, most importantly. Loose leaf, no tea bags!!! The food is amazing. And the atmosphere is like no other eatery. Shady Gables is my number one choice when it comes to special occasions and entertaining quests!
