What a beautiful place!! Who knew you could find such an amazing selection of teas and such a fabulously run establishment in such a small town! Every tea my party tried was delicious and the food was absolutely to die for! I would go back every day if I could!

What a gem in this little town. Great food, tea, & service. I bought their cookbook just because the food was so good! I also took home their Peach-Berry Cobbler black tea (so good). Will go again for sure!

The atmosphere and food cannot be matched. I have visited many different teahouse throughout the U.S. and I will always choose Shady Gables as my first choice.

My mother, 2 daughters & I have been coming to Shady Gables for many years now. It's ALWAYS a treat to both make & relive memories at this lovely tea room. The tea selection is phenomenal (my new favorite is 'Strawberry Shortcake')! The food & service are superb! Beautiful tea-related trinkets to purchase! Highly recommended!!!

This place is such a relaxing, charming place. Presentation is excellent, service & staff can't be beat. Neat gifts available too. It is so nice to get pampered once in a while.

Best Tea House I have ever been too! I have been going here occasionally for about 9 years and every time I am always impressed by the atomosphere, service, and of course, the food. Love it!

Excellent experience with a charming setting the foods and tea were so ole school and the presentation was flawless. Everything you ever wanted to know or acquire tea related was in the gift shoppe as well. The staff and owner were so cordial . A must visit at the Lake.

My cousin comes all the way from Orange County, California to enjoy Shady Gables. We have celebrated many events there and each time is just great.

I drove from Kansas City to meet friends at this highly recommended Tea Room. It was fantastic. It not only met but exceeded my expectations in regards to atmosphere, service, food and Tea! Only downside is that I live too far away to make it a weekly event.

We took my mom for a surprise birthday 'tea party'. The food & tea were scrumptious! We really enjoyed the atmosphere & friendly staff.

As a special birthday treat my daughters, granddaughters, and best friend took me to this lovely tearoom. The whole experience was very pleasant and relaxing. This will definitely be one of our favorite 'go to' places for special events!

I am from St. Louis, but have lived in CA since 1981. I visit my cousin every Christmas in Sedalia, and we always come to Shady Gables - it's one of my all time favorite places to go, and has been for many years. It's a step back in time... so charming and cozy. The tea, food & service make this a wonderful experience. I always take home tea and a treasure - a gift to myself. See you at Christmas 2013!

Yesterday, my mom, daughter, and 2 nieces visited Shady Gables. It was my first time there, as well as both my nieces. My mom had taken my daughter a few years back. We had a WONDERFUL time! Finding the perfect hat and wearing our 'mink stolls' and everything Shady Gables had to offer! The teas we chose were the Cameo Blush, Wild Blackberry, and Peach Cobbler. They were ALL very good, as was our wonderful lunch of Chicken Salad/Croissant and the scones. The lemon curd was fabulous! We will definitely be back- hoping in the spring! We had so much fun- and all spoke with Britich accents!

What a wondeful experience..Christmas at Shady Gables! As a sat sipping my favorite tea, Southern Belle, my two granddaughters patiently awaited the arrival of Mrs. Claus. Authentic afternoon tea and the variety of teas offered in this lovely Victorian home is always a delight, but the owner and his staff go out of their way to make Christmas at the tearoom an extra special occasion.

I have been to many tearooms and gift shops around the country, Shady Gables still the best! Great food,excellent friendly service,charming owner and a relaxed style that is what a authentic english tearoom should be! Hioghly recommend! A must!

Shady gables is the finest tea place I have ever visited. The place is beautiful with wonderful niknaks surrounding the walls and shelves. The music is very peaceful. I absolutly love the owner and the lady's that work there. Very polite and wonderful to talk to. I have purchased many tea's there..(56 to be excact!) I love them all. I still go there and will never stop. It's the best place ever! THANK YOU

My Grandaughter, Mom, Daughter-in-love and I had high tea today and we had a most wonderful time.
Every one was so nice and the food was excellent. We all plan to have many repeat visits. Thank you for a relaxing day in this busy season.

This is my favorite place to take my very best friends.I have taken my granddaughter a couple times, she loves dressing up for tea and is always anxious to go back. Luckily, both my children live in Versailles, and we have just moved there too.Now I can go more often. Wonderful atmosphere, great prentation and variety of food and gifts.

Two of my friends and I went to Shady Gables for Tea and had a wonderful relaxing afternoon. The tea, food, service and atmosphere were all perfect! We had the 'Queen's Choice' luncheon. Everything was delicious! I had the Snowberry Bliss tea and it was delightful! It was a very enjoyable experience. We all scrapbook and took several pictures. The staff was very thoughtful and took pictures of the three of us together. All three of us made purchases from the gift shop. I definately plan on returning for another memorable visit!!

One of the only AUTHENTIC tearooms around! Lots of places call themselves tearooms, but this is the real deal. The tea is simply the best. So many flavors to choose from you could literally try something different at each visit for years! Very charming setting, peaceful atmosphere, and educated staff!
