Welcome to Central Florida's most charming bed & breakfast, Tea House and upscale evening dining restaurant, The Stanford Inn.
Situated in the historic downtown district of Bartow, Florida, The Stanford Inn is a lovely Victorian retreat for travelers from around the world.
Originally built in 1906 by Mr. T. L. Wilson, a prominent attorney, The Stanford Inn offers six delightfully decorated and comfortable guest rooms; each with its own private bathroom, cable television and wireless internet access. Guests will enjoy the freshly-made daily gourmet breakfast & lunch as well as afternoon tea served in the gracious turn-of-the-century atmosphere of the Stanford Inn. Outdoors guests can discover the inn's tropical gardens as well as the outdoor pool. One-of-a-kind antiques, artwork and furnishings complete the warm Southern hospitality.
This picturesque bed and breakfast & Tea House is situated on a quiet corner lot in downtown Bartow, known as “The City of Oaks and Azaleas”. The home itself offers an expansive covered porch at the entryway with rocking chairs for relaxing and unwinding. Bartow, Florida, is conveniently located a short drive from a variety of popular Central Florida destinations including Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando and Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay.
Cinephiles may recognize The Stanford Inn from its prominent feature as the Sultenfuss' residence in the 1991 film “My Girl,” starring Dan Aykroyd, Jamie Lee Curtis, Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Stanford Inn & Tea House, “A Beautiful Place for Beautiful Memories.”
After looking for a tea room to take my mother for Mother's Day, I heard about the Stanford Inn and how My Girl was filmed there and decided to try it out. We both had a wonderful time! When we arrived, the owner, Tony, greeted us at the door and asked where we would like to sit. Because the place is gorgeous inside and out, we couldn't decide at first whether to sit inside or out on the porch.Tony was welcoming and told us we could take a look around and decide where we wanted to sit. We chose outside because of the beautiful view and atmosphere.
