Katie is the greatest server ever! Four friends who hadn't seen each other in 15 years got the greatest service, plenty of hot water, fresh teas promptly brought, sandwich switches were cheerfully and correctly handled. It was a great experience! I'd been trying to get here for years, and it lived up to it's reputation! The coconut oolong tea was really interesting!

Sunday 12/1 was my first visit to the Talking Tea Cup. The decor was quite lovely and charming. I loved the whimsical feel of the mismatching tea cups and plates at each seat. I also loved the feel of this historic building. The tea and food preparations and pairngs were very well done. The shop very charming and well stocked with bags of loose tea, infusers, tea books, pots and mugs. The only criticism I have is that the service was horrendously slow. There were only two tables other than ours. We waited quite a while for someone to approach our table when we first arrived, then there was a mad flurry of food and teas brought to the table, but then after that not a soul could be found - it was probably a good 45 minutes before someone even appeared that we could ask for our check after we finished. The owner, while cordial and businesslike, was not overly warm or friendly. All-in-all though it was a nice experience and I will definitely go back.

The owner of the tearoom seems to have a little bit of an attitude issue from what I've witnessed with several tables over my several visits to the tea room. Aside from this the food and tea are well prepared and severed. Make sure to make a reservation ideally 24 hours ahead of time.

I have been here twice with friends. Charming overall. Service the first time was average, second time was impeccable.
