I love tea rooms and I find teamap to be very helpful in locating tea rooms when I travel. This tea room is wonderful. I very much enjoyed the high tea. The scones were perfectly delicious and served nice and warm. The selection of tea sandwiches, 6 in all, were each savory and scrumptious and the soup was very tasty. The service was top notch, the atmosphere was inviting and the gift shop is so cute! They have a well rounded and large selection of tea, served in individual pots. When in the Doylestown area, this tea room is well worth the visit.

I have been to several tea rooms in the area, and was looking forward to visiting the Talking Teacup for high tea. The venue was charming, but that was the highlight of the visit. The decaffeinated tea list was short, and when I asked the server about decaffeinating other teas, she pointed to the list and said that those were the decaf teas. I have learned at other shops that any tea can be reduced in caffeine content by pouring off the first steeping. They didn't seem to know that. The server didn't tell us what kind of soup was being served until she brought it to the table and we asked her before she walked away. We were never asked if we wanted to try a different tea with each course, or if we wanted refills at all. The sandwiches were disappointing; one was made with what appeared to be store-bought swirl rye cut in a way that some of the crust was left on. The desserts were also disappointing. All in all, rather impersonal and uninviting. I am sorry to say that I will not return here.

tearoom response
I am disappointed to read that you were unhappy with your visit. We do carry 7 decaffeinated teas plus over 25 herbal infusions that contain zero caffeine. While a second steeped tea will reduce the amount of caffeine present in a tea, it does not reduce it by enought to be considered decaffeinated. Also, some consider the taste of a second steeping to be inferior. For those reasons, we do not offer a second steeping, unless the customer requests us to do so. I apologize if your server did not indicate what our fresh soup of the day was as well as ask if you wanted another pot of tea. That is not up to our high standards and we have reminded all our servers of this. As to our savory tea sandwiches and varied desserts, I am sorry you found them disappointing. I wish something was said while you were in the tearoom so we could have addressed your concerns.

This was my third visit to The Talking Tea cup. Every visit has been most enjoyable. I brought a long time freind for her first visit to a tea room for her Birthday. We had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and shopping in the gift shop just completed our visit. My freind can't wait to do it again and will be back to buy tea that she thought she could only mail order.

My first visit to this Tea Room this past weekend could not have been a better experience. The food was delicious, from the scones, served nice and warm, to the most tasty soup and the varity of tea sandwiches and desserts. I couldn't decide which tea to try, so instead I ordered the Tea Tasting. 3 different teas where served, one with each food course. It was tea tasting terrific! One the way out, I purchased 2 of the 3 teas to enjoy at home. Thank you ladies for a wonderful experience

What a delight! I took a friend who was going through a very difficult time and this turned out to be a very soothing experience for her. This tearoom is absolutely beautiful, the food is excellent and the presentation was well done. This is a great and relaxing experience... and don't miss the gift shop!

Dear Ladies, As a true Angophile, I was looking forward to the Talking Teacup immensely. My mostly nondrinking friends had given a good review of the place. I drink great gobs of tea everyday, brewed myself from leaf, and I know good tea. Everything here was truly average, except for their dessert, which was more like a blue child's birthday cake. When I tried to make a gentle suggestion to the proprietress, she cut me to the quick. P.S. The antique shop behind this establishment was great fun---go there and brew your own tea.

I am sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We take great care in individually steaping each pot of tea and if ever a customer is unhappy with the tea strength or type of tea, we are happy to brew another pot or type of tea. Additionally, for dessert, which we make fresh, we've been serving a sampling of many flavors in each order. Our dessert order contains, raspberry and strawberry layer cakes, assoriated cheese puffs, tea infused sugar cookies, brownie bites and chocolate chip pound cake. All arranged in a savory sampling. I am sorry if none of those were to your liking.

The food and the service was great. The tea selection excellent, with many diverse choices and their tea menue and staff were so happy to help us with our selections. We each completly enjoyed our High Tea and as an added bonus, purchased some loose tea in their lovely gift shop to enjoy at home. I highly recommend this tea room and will visit them again.

After reading the reviews for this tea room, I decided to pay them a visit for High Tea. It was a visit I recommend you also do. From the moment I walked up to building, I felt I was visiting an dear old friend's house. Entering the cute gift shop afforded me the opportunity to relax and browse for a few moments while I waited for my friends to arrive. We then entered the main dining room and I was immediately struck by the comfortable, lovely decor. The Tea Room seemed less like a business and more like a warm welcoming home. Once seated at our table we were greeted by a very friendly and informative young lady who described what the day's specials were and was happy to answer our tea related questions. The food was deliciously fantastic and the tea was wonderfully warming. ... (more)

We had a lovely baby shower tea at The Talking Teacup. My daughter, our guests and I were so pleased with the food, tea selections, table settings and friendly service. Lots of photos were taken and we will always have fond memories of our special day at The Talking Teacup! Thank you!

This was my fourth time visiting this tea room and each time has been deliciously delightful. The soup was wonderful and the scones and tea sandwiches savory. As for the tea selection, unlike the previous reviewer, I find that their tea menu, containing over 65 different types of tea, offers a wide and complete selection. In fact, I couldn't decide which one to order this time, so instead I ordered a tea sampler. I was then presented a different type of tea with each food cource, 4 different delicious teas in all. What a wonderful way to go tea tasting! My friends, who ordered the more traditional individual pots of tea, said they'll all order the tea sampler next time.

We visited this tearoom in December and, althought it was good- since they are rated no. 3 out of 117- I guess I was expecting too much and was a little disappointed. For example, the tea selection seemed a bit on the limited side compared to some other tearooms we have visited. However, their gift shop is adorable and we picked up several little Christmas gifts which is wonderful. I am not saying I wouldn't go back- but I just think there is room for improvement.

Having read all the previous reviews I was really expecting a lot. My sister was over from California for the holidays and I decided to treat her. I must admit I was not that impressed. The staff were not very friendly and on the whole it was just a very average experience. Maybe I caught them on a bad day.

My daughter and I took my mother for another relaxing and delicious tea for her 82 birthday in December. It was busy but we never felt rushed-what a treat during the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Thank you again for another memorable time at your teahouse!

We were in the Tea House this past Thanksgiving weekend and we bought several of the teas they serve in the tearoom, along with a pot and measuring spoon. I've never enjoyed tea as much us these. My daughter in Michigan enjoyed them also. Next time we come to PA we will absolutly come for lunch.

After having several people tell me about this tea room, I finally found the time to make a reservation for lunch. It was a wonderful experience. These ladies know what they are doing. From the cute gift shop, to the comfortable seating arraingments, to an informative and attentive staff, to the tasty teas and the delicious food, this place is tea-rific! The wide choices of tea and the information available on the tea menu (yes they have a seperate tea menu!) pleased both the novice and the experienced tea drinkers in our group. We left with tummies full, spirits rejunivated, holiday shopping started and looking forward to our next visit in 2 weeks! Thank you ladies!

The Talking Teacup is the best! We had a birthday luncheon for Lois yesterday that was fabulous! We had such a good time and so enjoyed the wonderful food (that tomato bisque was awesome) and the friendly atmosphere. It's like stopping at Grandma's because you always make us feel so at home and the food's great.
I can always count on The Talking teacup for special things that really count. It made Lois's day really memorable. Thank You!

Wow, what a great place! The tea selection is so complete and the ones we ordered were steeped to prefection and then the selection of scones were just so good. Just when we thought it couldn't get any tastier, out came the tea sandwiches followed by a very nice selection of sweets. Great food, lovely historic farmhouse setting, friendly service and a nice gift shop. This place capatures what makes Bucks County so special. We'll be back.

This Tea Room never fails to impress. The soup I savored on my most recent visit was out of this world delicious. It was a pumpkin soup, perfect for the season and the little bit of fall weather we've finally had. Of course the tea, sandwiches and scones were so yummy. I've brought many friends and neighbors to The Talking Teacup, it just feels like home...only with better food!

I can't say enough about this tea room. The owner and staff are so informative and nice, the food is simply delicious, well presented and plentiful and the tea is always steaped just right. And the tea choices, oh the choices are many and it's so fun trying new teas. And I just know I'll be getting alot of my Christmas shopping done in their gift shop this year!

After reading and see pictures about this tearoom in Fall issue of Bucks County Magazine, my friend and I just had to stop in and we're delighted that we did. The food was delicious and so nicely presented, we couldn't resist making a little purchase in the gift shop and we got to sit at the table in front of their lovely fireplace, the same one shown in the magazine! Thanks you ladies for a such a nice high tea lunch. It's places like this that make Bucks Beautiful!

I just learned of TeaMap and from it of the Talking Teacup. My son and I tried it out today. I was very pleased that they were able to adjust the selection of tea sandwiches to my vegetarian needs (three choices were vegetarian, and they were delicious!). The pallette of place settings/tablecloth etc. colors was pretty and soothing, and the shop selections had lovely and inexpensive gift items. I'll visit again.

I was a first time visitor to this tea room, having driven by many times and after hearing many goods things about it. I'm so glad I finally decided to stop in for some tea and lunch. I had the High Tea. The scones were so light and delicious and just baked warm and the chilled fruit soup was simply perfect for a hot summer day! Just when I thought it couldn't get any tastier, out came an assortment of tea sandwiches bursting with flavor. Lastly my friendly server cheerfully delivered a dessert...homemade tea cookies, brownies and more, which I brought home to my hubby to enjoy! This is now my new favorite place. Next time I'm going to try the Tea Tasting along with my lunch. Friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, great food, delicious tea and a rather nice gift shop. Perfect!

read the wonderful food review for this tea room in Out & About in my local newspaper. This place sounded so yummy that I decided to check them out. I invited one of my friends who loves tea and tea rooms to join me. We both found the service sensational (Anne our server and tea expert was great), the food fantastic and the tea terrific. A very nice surprise was the cute gift shop where we both purchased some talking teacup tea and I a lovely teapot. I can see why this place has received such nice reviews. We’ll be back and will probably sign up for some of their evening Special Events as well. Thanks ladies.

We have been coming to this wonderful tearoom for almost three years and we have never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and it is a pleasant change to have iced tea instead of hot on a warm day. There were a delightful mix of people in the tearoom that day including a charming family of three little girls and their mother, who were having the time of their lives. If you get a chance, go on the tea trips with them. We have done both the ones locally and both trips overseas. Kathy and the ladies are wonderful people, who like to have fun. Come in from the cruel outside world and immerse yourself with a lovely cuppa and some delicious scones.
