Overview

The Clipper Ship under full sail a sight to behold. Masts reaching high into the sky, hulls with knife-edged bows slicing the waves and acres of canvas driving the ship at 14 knots. Its purpose was clear; transport tea and goods from China to London and New York as fast as possible. The Clipper Age was short lived, however, and because of their delicate, lightweight structure these ships soon disappeared. Steam ships took over the shipping lanes and the Clippers sailed into oblivion. The romance of that age lives on in our hearts and minds.

The Tea Clipper, a specialty Tea Shop, was born of that same sense of adventure and excitement. We are dedicated to the art and enjoyment of fine tea. From the humble leaf comes hours of sipping enjoyment and a connection with history and culture that is both exciting and fulfilling.

I have enjoyed this tearoom since being introduced to it by a friend. My mother and I love to have a GIRLS DAY when she comes to visit! Now that I have my own daughter, we can't wait to share tea time with her! Thanks for a wonderful place to have a GIRL DAY!!!! This place is absolutely excellent and by far the best tearoom I have ever experienced! The teas are wonderful and the food is excellent! Make sure to experience Tea Time for a great treat!

MY DAUGHTER AND I HAVE ENJOYED THE TEA CLIPPER SINCE ITS OPENING. WE LIVE IN BEAUFORT AND VISIT THE TEA CLIPPER VERY OFTEN. THE VARIETY OF TEAS KEEPS US COMING BACK FOR MORE. IT IS A PLACE TO RELAX,SHOP,EAT,AND SIP TEA FOR A WHILE. IT IS A VERY WARM AND RELAXING ATMOSPHERE,AND THE LADIES THAT SERVE THE TEA ARE WONDERFUL. THE TEA CLIPPER RANKS WELL ABOVE OTHER TEA ROOMS THAT WE HAVE VISITED IN SERVICE AND QUALITY.

I brought my daughter in July and we had a wonderful time. What a wonderful selection of teas! What a neat tea bar! The food was delicious and presented nicely. The servers did not seem happy though. They mumbled under their breath about something and were not as attentive as they should have been. Bad day maybe? I am willing to try again next year. Try the fortune cookie tea!And take time to check out the little museum attached to it!

Amy, I am glad you enjoyed your visit with us in July. I am dismayed to learn that you did not receive 5 star service, however. Since your visit was last July I am unable to accurately discuss the problem. Please know that we have taken your comment 'to heart '.
I regularly receive compliments on the staff and the service so I hope you will come by for tea on your next visit and give us another chance.
I am pleased you enjoyed the food and our extensive tea selection. The Fortune Cookie does continue to be a favorite.
