Dear Jennifer, We are delighted that you were able to come and visit with us at The Tea Cup. Thank you for recognizing our hard working staff. I am proud to have such a great group of gals to spend my day with. I am sorry that the other tea room was closed; this economy has also influenced changes in our hours. We are all doing the best we can and appreciate your business more than ever. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Thank you, Lynn and Staff

Variety: Just returned from a lovely, delicious High Tea event at The Tea Cup Tea Room. They offered a variety of sandwiches, desserts and their scone was out of this world. I've never seen another Tea Room in this area that offered such a wide variety of teas. Lovely gift shop and huge selection of items to buy from. I would recommend this place over all the others I've been to in the Tampa-Brandon area. |

Variety: This was my first time to the Tea Cup. I had heard such rave reviews by my Supervisor at work, that I made a reservation for this past Saturday for my friend, Francoise' birthday. We had an absolutely wonderful time! The atmosphere was so inviting and friendly. Jade was just the most wonderful person that I have met. She made sure that everything was just right for us! The food was so-o delicious and the chicken salad was to die for! You have a wonderful establishment and I will certainly be making many visits! Thank you so much for such a wonderful time and for making my friend's birthday so special. |

Variety: I visited The Tea Cup Tea Room on Saturday with a friend. When my friend made the reservation, she made a special request for cinnamon chip scones. When we arrived and were seated, we reminded our server of the special request. She knew exactly what we were talking about and explained that they couldn't find cinnamon chips, so they made cinnamon apple scones instead. The cinnamon apple scones were absolutley delicious! I also appreciated their willingness to oblige my special request. This was not my first visit, and as always, the atmosphere, food and service were wonderful. We particularly enjoyed the chicken salad sandwiches. We had two different teas and found the tea artistry notworthy as well. The owner, Lynn, chatted with us toward the end of our visit, and she was gracious, pleasant and friendly as usual. My friend and I look forward to our next visit. |

Variety: I have been to the Tea Cup Tea Room on several occasions and have found the experience to be just delightful. The gift shop is lovely and full of wonderful gift-giving goodies! I have to say the food is outstanding. You will savor every bite! I especially love their 'Tropical' scones with devonshire cream. I must say I have not been able to eat just one yet (and I have ordered many to go and plan on doing so in the future). |

Variety: My daughter made a reservation here for a Mother's Day Tea this past May. (Yes I am a bit slow) My mother-in-law and two adult daughters went on Saturday and had a wonderful time. Even though one side was filled with a group of young girls and their mothers (Brownies I think)we had no idea they were there once we were seated. A beautiful Victorian lobby that had some wonderful items for sale also had a chair massage for a complete relaxtion event. I actually found a business card holder I had been searching for for a while. The sandwichs were very good and the pastries delicious. The service was a bit slow at first, (those girls had them running!)but the friendliness was worth the wait and afterwards we had a wonderful chat with the owner. Overall one of the best Mother's Day I have ever had! |

Tearoom Response
Dear Mary Ellen, It is so kind of you to remember us from Mother's Day! It was our first. We will soon be coming up on a complete year of firsts. Next year we will be pros so look for us again next Mother's Day. I do remember that day. The Brownies were there with their moms. We are fortunate that the rooms are at opposite ends of the house because parties have the opportunity to feel extremely private and it certainly controls noise. Your words are touching...thank you ever so much. Lynn and Staff

Hi Pam, I appreciate your review about The Tea Cup. I have to chuckle to myself though because you noted the cleanliness of the restaurant. Thank you so very much! :) Lynn and Staff

Variety: Several friends and I have a group that plans a social outing once a month. Each of us takes a turn planning and I selected the TeaCup. We made a reservation for High Tea on a Saturday afternoon and it was wonderful. The selection of teas covered every taste and the selection of sandwiches, scones and desserts was delicious. Our favorite was the chicken salad croissant. We will be back again, the next time for lunch as the menu items looked very intriguing and we are definitely going to try the tea that blossoms in the pot to a flower. The atmosphere is charming. What a great way to build memories with friends!!! |

Variety: I visited this place with a group from my yoga class and had the most wonderful time. We enjoyed great food AND great service. Even the sweet tea was the best I've ever tasted. It was my first time but I'm looking forward to going back. Is this one of Brandon's best kept secrets?! |

Tearoom Response
Hi Linda, We sure enjoyed visiting with you gals today. If anyone is looking for a top notch yoga instructor in the Brandon area, we now know who to recommend. We feel as though we are Brandon's best kept secret...we tease because the front of the house is so unassuming; it just looks like a regular 1960's home...until you drive around back and enter the tea room. We look forward to seeing you all again soon. Thanks again, Lynn and Staff

Variety: My friends and I had lunch at The Tea Cup this week - our first visit. We were seeking a special place for a birthday lunch and we found it here!! Our attention was captured the minute stepped on the deck and entered the transformed home. We were impressed with the vast menu, which included traditional High Tea, and dazzled by the delicious food. The chicken salad is to die for and the artichoke brie soup was delicious. The decor is charming and we enjoyed browsing through the gift shop. Lynn and her staff saw to it that we had an enjoyable, relaxing experience. I have pretty high expectations when I attend a tea room and I'm pleased to say The Tea Room met them. I'll be returning soon with my sister. |

Variety: My 4 year old daughter and I had lunch at The Tea Cup this afternoon. She had a great time looking at all the giftware. I ordered the High Tea and she had Lil' Sug Tea. She is a very picky eater, so I was nervous about spending $14 on lunch for her, but she ate the entire tray of strawberry cream cheese sandwiches, one off my tray that had mandarin orange flavor, a brie and peach amaretto tart, and so on! She totally adored the sliced strawberries in her own pot of lemonade. My chicken salad was excellent and I enjoyed the tropical scones served with fresh clotted cream. I opted for iced tea today because it was nearly 100 degrees outside, which I found perfectly sweetened, not overly so. The decor was very feminine and sweet. I am trying to think of an occasion to use the dining room that seats 40.... Our waitress was very nice and the owner came to chat with us. We just had a really nice time! |

Variety: I have to say that when I was first invited to go to tea that I was a little unsure if I would like it or not being more of a coffee house person but as soon as I pulled up to The Tea Cup Tea Room I changed my mind. I loved it so much each of the rooms there had something about it that was so charming and welcoming. It was my mothers first time as well and we both plan on coming back very soon. |

Variety: I must say, that the looks of this location from the front, does this establishment absolutely no justice. Yet I’m not quite sure what could be done to improve the front’s appearance. However if you decide to drive around back and park, you can’t help but to be charmed from the moment you arrive. On a sunny day, the back patio makes for a wonderful & inviting experience for afternoon tea at a table with an umbrella (if it’s not too hot). My daughter and I have had tea around the world, and The Tea Cup Room’s menu ranks with some of the very best in England. Lynn, the owner makes it a point to visit each table and guest, and is extremely personable. She has a wonderful staff, menu, gift shop, and every time we visit we continue to be more and more impressed. Take it from me if you want the ... (more) |

Dear Shaun, The gals and I are always so happy when you and Erica come to tea. It is like having some of your favorite relatives come to visit. We are blessed to have great guests (turned friends) to spend our day with at The Tea Cup. You hit the nail on the head; Jade is by far the best! She is truly caring and has an amazingly cheerful outlook on life. Jen and Jessica are a terriffic team in the kitchen even though they are rarely on the floor, they work hard to make sure all of Claudia's recipes are produced to perfection. I can't forget to mention Sandra...always smiling, always full of energy working hard to convey our concept of The Tea Cup. I am fortunate to have such an exceptional team and when someone such as yourself goes to great lengths to appreciate their experience, I can only give credit where credit is due...to the hard workers I have the good fortune to lead. We treasure your friendship and your support. Thanks again for all of your kind words, Lynn

Variety: This was my second time visiting the Tea Cup. This time a took a visiting friend and her daughter out for lunch before their return to Idaho. We were seated in the Periwinkle room that was beautifully decorated with photos from around the world and lovely antiques. Service was excellent and we enjoyed a delicious lunch. I especially like the chicken artichoke soup. The chicken salad on crossiant was as good as the portabella on cibata bread that I had the first time. The brownie with ice cream was a big hit with all 3 of us. My frien is British and was impressed with the excellent flavor of the tea. After lunch we enjoyed the gift shop and made several purchases of unique gifts found only at the Tea Cup. I appreciate all the attention to detail throught the establishment. Even though the exterior is unassuming, don't let it stop you from coming in and having a wonderful , entertaining meal. Will be back often. |

Variety: A friend and I drove to visit this tea shop based on the positive Tea Map reviews. It was a beautiful home, decorated so lovely and feminine. The food was delicious, a bit small in the salad and dessert portions for the price. It would have been nice to have a scone included. The tea was excellent, many varieties, brewed well but served only warm and not hot. The server did not come back to check on us and we were the only ones in that small dining room so we were finished eating before she returned. All in all, I would love to go again for a special occassion and try some of their other offerings and eat on their beautiful shaded patio. |

|
Tearoom Response
Dear Kelli, Thank you for visiting The Tea Cup and sharing such kind words about how you found the tea room to be beautiful and feminine. My guess is, you had our Secret Garden Du Jour which has a petite or half sandwich, cup of homemade soup, side salad, tea cup tea-nie dessert which includes iced tea for $14.99 or hot tea for $16.49. We try to include everything desirable for lunch and even include our 'tea-nie' dessert so that you can enjoy a little something sweet without feeling too guilty for having had dessert. We do offer full size desserts as well. Next time you might try our chocolate, chocolate, chunky fudge brownie cake topped with a chocolate ganache and vanilla bean ice cream. It is one of my favorites! We often feel that we over visit or check on our guests because we want everything to be perfect for them, so I deeply apologize if you did not recieve the attention you rightfully deserved as a Tea Cup guest. Please do try us again and relax on our oak shaded terrace. Thank you kindly, Lynn and staff.

Variety: We drove over from Orlando, and it was well worth the drive. The place was packed, Red Hatters and all. We shopped in the gift shop, while waiting for our table. Our lunch was tealicious!!! Chicken Artichoke Soup served in pedestal tea cups with scalloped rims. Delicious & cute :) The scones were a first for us - Pineapple Coconut, hot out of the oven. If you live in Tampa, You have no excuse for not going to The Tea Cup Tea Room and I'll definitely drive back!!! |

Variety: My Mom, sisters, 2 year old daughter and I visited on the same day (and at the same time) as 27 red-hatters. Although the staff was a little overwhelmed they managed to serve up a delicious meal with a smile. The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is great. Everything was just beautiful. If you go, dont pass up the scones. I'd like to keep this place a secret but it appears that the word has already gotten out! |

Variety: My mother and I had a fantastic experience at The Tea Cup. We enjoyed the apricot peach tea, as well as the kiwi strawberry tea. I highly recommend both. We also had what I believe was called the Secret Garden Du Jour, which includes the daily selection of salad, soup, sandwich, and dessert. Their chicken salad sandwich is to die for, as well as their homemade creamy parmesan dressing that I selected for the salad. They have a selection of at least 5 different homemade dressings (maybe more). Oh, and we also LOVED the chicken artichoke brie soup... and how could I forget the scones!?! The scone of the day was strawberry white chocolate chip made with real strawberries and served with devanshire cream. Everyone was friendly and the service was impeccable. It's great to have another tea room... (more) |

Variety: My four year old daughter and I visited this tea room on a whim at the end of February. It was her first tea experience, and she did fairly well. We enjoyed the environment, the service and the tea. The owner's daughter came by and gave my daughter a pink boa and tiara to wear so that she could feel like a princess while she enjoyed her tea. We found the staff and the owner to be incredibly gracious and patient. The owner even gave my daughter a pack of 'Wiki Sticks' to play with. We didn't have the traditional tea, but we did have a delicious chicken salad croissant along with scones and tea. I highly recommend this tea room and look forward to returning soon. |

Variety: Me and my dear friend, came in last week and had lunch, the tea cup is a very friendly and pretty place, Me and my friend chose two different menu items and they were good, however, I have to agree portion size was alittle on the small size, for a lunch. The scones are excellant ! we have tried many other tearooms both in the area and out of state, and these are a good size and texture, but we are accustom to recieveing two scones with an order, so that was something of a let down, the tea choices Are vast, but again the timer was also on the table with no explanation, we of course knew due to our experience but others maynot be as knowledgeable. Up to just recently victorian grace on parsons was the best place for scones, but due to a recent tea visit there we could tell something had cha... (more) |

Variety: I'm not sure what the non-positive posters were talking about! A friend brought me on a whim. I admit we did not 'take tea', but lunch and I was thoroughly pleased! We did order a strawberry scone which my friend said was wonderful. I have never had a scone that delicious(and moist!) before and trust me, I'm known as a 'dessert/scone snob'. Our server was so pleasant and nice. The owner even came out and spoke with our table and the other tables, chatting and acting if we were all old friends. Perhaps that's why the other poster had the impression that friends were posting for friends (?). Lynn I had never met you before that day, but felt as if I've known you a long time. You and your staff made me feel welcome! Thank you and keep up the good work! Can't wait to bring my mother now! |

Variety: Friends writing biased reviews about friends do a great disservice to those of us in search of a unique tea experience. Based upon the reviews at this site, I expected an extraordinary experience. I had an ordinary experience. This tea room is pretty. The tea artistry was poor because it wasn't explained. A plastic eggtimer was on the table and it was meant to time our brew, but it wasn't explained. Besides, brew times vary for different tea blends. The tea sandwiches were ordinary. After reading that a chef prepared them, I expected creativity and uniqueness - not craisins. The desserts were ordinary and plain (and very small). Service was slow because there appeared to be one person working all rooms. The tea was pricey for what food we got. The table linens weren't pressed. It is a pretty, but ordinary place. |

Variety: My experience with this tea room was not great. I have been to many in the area and this was my least favorite mostly the price for what you get. They were friendly when we first got there but very unattentive as they got busy. It is a pretty tea room and gift shop. The lavender-lemon decaf tea was very good and the scones were very good, but that is where it stops. I got the full afternoon tea and it was the highest priced one in the area for very little food. I was shocked at what you didn't get. There was no soup or salad to start which two other tea rooms do offer for less money. There was only one scone, most tea rooms offer two scones. There was a chicken salad sandwich that was ok and two other sandwiches so small one I couldn't identify and the other was the cucumber with ... (more) |

Dear 'J.E.P.' We are pleased that you noticed how 'pretty' our tea room and gift shop are and how very good the Lemon Lavender tea and Scones are as well. I apologize that your expectation in regards food quantity for percieved value was not met. It is our goal at The Tea Cup to insure that each of our guests have a delightful visit with us in every aspect. I am disappointed however that you did not relay that to me the times I visited your table. I would have been ever so glad to assist you in creating the most uplifting experience possible. Thank you for your review. Sincerely, Lynn

Variety: I just hosted a Birthday party for my daughter who was turning 9. I have to say, that she had 15 guests, and they all had a blast! The food was top notch, and Lynn you were a marvelous host. We loved you showing the girls the proper way to drink tea and the lesson on manners. I would highly recommend this birthday party to anyone who is running out of ideas and is looking for a memorable event. Thanks again! |

Variety: This tea house goes the extra mile! The five of us who visited there this past weekend are vegetarians. Lynn prepared a wonderful, tasty tea for us! The roasted portobella sandwich is incredible. The presentation is outstandng and service is both efficient and warm and friendly. With all of this plus a large and varied menu and multiple, well decorated rooms, this is a tea house to return to again and again! |

Variety: Last week my daughter Alyssa, her friend Mary, and I went to tea at The Tea Cup. We had a wonderful time, and I wanted to be sure to post comments that are truly from me. See, we closed Tussie Mussie on February 17th and it appears that somebody who is upset with me for closing our business and ruining her event may be sending disparaging emails. The Tea Cup is a wonderful tea room - quaint, comfortable and welcoming. Lynn Davis put a great deal of time, effort, thought and love into this tea room and it shows from the impeccable decorations to the variety of menu items. The chicken/artichoke soup is delicious and is a great comfort food. The little tea sandwich with the mandarin orange on top is one of the best spreads I have ever tasted. The white chocolate chip/strawberry scones ... (more) |

Variety: My favorite tea room closed, and at the urging of the owner, I visited The Tea Cup. Just as I was told, Lynn was very warm, gracious and welcoming. Our server was very friendly too. The tea room is cute. While it has some antiques, it is more modern. The homemade salad dressing was delicious and the soup was very good too - it was lukewarm and I did tell this to our server. The chicken salad was good, but the croissant was a little dry. To make us part of the tea ceremony, our tea pot was served with the tea ball in it and an egg timer on the table (which was flipped when the tea pot was served). We figured out that we were supposed to remove the tea ball when the egg timer was through. All in all, it was a good experience. |

Tearoom Response
Dear 'Larra', It is very sad that Tussie Mussie was unable to stay in business. We too will miss them. Thank you for mentioning our homemade salad dressings; we get many requests to bottle and sell them. We are also asked to sell our chicken salad as take home. It is delicious because all of the love Chef Claudia put into her recipe, we are thankful for her. We make sometimes two trips a day to the local bakery to ensure fresh croissants. We too are blessed with servers who are warm, friendly, cheerful and attentive. So glad you partook in the tea ceremony, you are exactly right, we encourage participation with the tea infusers and tea timers. It makes the overall experience more memorable. We enjoyed having you at The Tea Cup and look forward to your next visit.

Variety: I waited and waited to visit your tea room & on just the right day... My mom and I came in last week and were absolutely swept away with the beauty of the tea rooms, the amazing selection of tea, how hot the tea was, how perfect the food was and how full we were at the end of our meal! A total blessing of love given by each person there -- Thank you, Lynn, for being so naturally open with strangers with the perfect words I needed to hear that day! It is amazing how easy life is when we allow control to be in the Right Place! Thanks for the memory with my mom from Auburndale! We will be back! |

Variety: I formerly belonged to a group of ladies who went for tea to a different tearoom each month. If this establishment had been here then, we may never have had to leave Brandon! I was there as part of a private luncheon our Church arranged for the staff in January, and it felt as though we were stepping into a retreat - since you enter at the rear of the building, you don't even remember that there are cars going by on the other side of the home. The entry is inviting, the gift shop has lots of items, from everyday to eclectic, and excellent prices. I had a wonderful salad, and the others in our party were well-pleased with their meals and the choices of tea as well. The men in our group even felt at home, in spite of their fears that they would feel too 'frou-frou.' I am happy to report that they enjoyed their meals and their tea, and did not feel at all pressured to raise their pinkies - not even once!! LOL Thank you, Lynn - we loved every minute! |

Variety: My sister and I visited the Tea Cup Tea Room for the first time today. What a delightful experience! Not only was the food delicious (please don't ever change the recipes for the scones and chicken salad) and beautifully presented, but the service was equally wonderful. My sister and I spent as much time in the gift shop browsing around and talking with Lynn and her wonderful staff as we did enjoying the delicious high tea experience. Already have reservations to come back later this month. The Tea Cup is definitely our favorite tea room! |

After tasting the wounderful desserts and veiwing the beautiful bathroom, she also gave The Tea Cup the seal of approval!! I highly recommend The Tea Cup!! |

Variety: My friends and I visited this tea room last Saturday and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, especially the strawberry scones, and the service was great. Variety: I had a chance to visit this tearoom not too long ago and I must say what a lovely surprise. The old house was beautifully decorated and the food is wonderful. I was told that all the soups are home made and will change thru out the seasons. All of the salads dressings were also home made. How refreshing to know that they are not coming out of a bottle. The teas were wonderful and the fruit scones were to die for. I understand the scones will change with the seasons also. Many thanks to the owner and the chef for the wonder atmosphere and food. |
