Dear Jane, It was great to see you the other day! Thank you for your cheerful review. We appreciate that you bring to attention our pricing. If compared to popular local lunch style restaurants we do cost a bit more. However we do make everything fresh homemade. It is definately more expensive to pay staff to bake and cook each item on our menu. We do make everything homemade right down to our salad dressings. We are a small restaurant and must purchase smaller quantities because we demand high quality and freshness. We use delicate china and tablecloths to provide a comfy tablesetting; these items require hand washing and laundering. We are unique and take joy in creating an experience for you that is also unique. We could in no way compete with restaurant chains; however, we do our best to keep our prices as low as possible. I am truly but a volunteer to see a dream grow. We feel so good when folks understand what we are all about and appreciate the choices we make to be who we are. Our soups are kept at the temperature required by food safety standards. We do understand that some folks like food hotter, but we must follow these rules for our guests safety. Our new menu will feature three high teas and we will be adding several new options to our two daily soups, three entree salads and five signature sandwiches, not to mention more combos like our Secret Garden Du Jour. I apologize that our white chocolate macadamia nut tart with white chocolate mousse was not cooked appropriately for you. We do make mistakes and appreciate cheerful guidance. Dear Christie, You are completely right! We do offer appetizers when we are caught off guard and folks wait longer than anticipated; however sometimes (when we are blessed with an over-abundant crowd) we are thrown off our game and that was one of those days. As I had explained my server accidently gave your reserved table to a walk-in and that sunk our ship. Again, I am so deeply sorry but had no other option and did not want to have you wait 90 minutes henceforth the table in the gift shop. I still accept full responsibility for the complete blunder on my part and appreciate how gracious you and your guest were that day. I was even off on my guestimate waiting times by a bit, but we will do everthing possible to make sure that does not happen again. We have already made some changes to help us as our business grows. I only wish in these times I was able to keep an oversized staff every day. We certainly appreciate your kind and constructive advice. Please visit again and allow us to 'treat' you (on the house) how you deserve to be treated as a Tea Cup guest.
