Reservations recommended and there still may be a wait. We didn't have a long wait, we were told our table was still occupied. The people were very friendly. Once seated we still had to wait for a waitress. Once our waitress attended us she was on top of her game and refilled almost everyone of our cups.
We always take our ds with us to tea and he has the adult fare. He enjoyed the scones, the cucumber sandwiches and tomato sandwiches. My husband and I enjoyed those as well as the egg salad sandwiches. There was also dessert, which we normally don't eat and the cakes were moist. We had the regular afternoon tea, but there is another tier of tea that included champaigne and hot food. We had a wonderful time, though my husband complained it was too dark; we sat in the room with the fireplace. I enjoyed it. There is another room with a skylight. I recommend going to The Tea Room.

I recently held a bridal tea at 'The Tea Room'. I had seen Bruce Richard's review and knew if he gave such great review's it would not disappoint me. The service was wonderful. Our server had a hint of an Irish accent which made her even more delightful. I added extra guests at the last minute and even two additional children which they handled very gracefully. Our party was held in the library and since it was a special party at a special time I was charged a room fee which was extremely modest. Everyone had a great time, the children were given teddy bears to have tea at their own special table and hot chocolate to pour into their cups. I loved the library room, it was cozy and stylish and you felt as if you were in a palor somewhere in England long ago. It was sophesticated and ... (more)

This is my favorite tea room experience, and I always go back when I'm in Savannah. The variety of teas offered is impressive, as is the proprietor's knowledge. She also taught me an interesting technique to decaffeinate tea. The food is excellent, particularly the chicken salad sandwich and chilled potato soup I had. I also enjoy the interior, which is more elegant but homey, rather than frou-frou. Overall, I give it a 10 out of 10, and the gift shop is also wonderful. I enjoyed the Summer Solstice tea the best. If you visit, definitely call to make a reservation.

The most important aspect of any tearoom is the tea. Elizabeth Ruby has been a student of tea for many years and her expertise is easily seen in the tea selection here. She and her staff have crafted a tea experience that takes the best of British tradition, mixes it with a bit of Mackintosh artistry, and leaves out the frump. The Tea Room is comfortable, satisfying, and sophisticated. That's not an easy balance to achieve. I've sent countless friends here over the years and they all come back with glowing reviews.

I recently visited from NJ. My sister and I had a wonderful afternoon at The Tea Room. Our waitress was delightful, I tipped her extra because she was knowlegeable about every single tea on the menu and gave us so much attention! Im sorry I can't remember her name though. The food was fabulous, but we missed the crumputs we had expierienced at a Charleston tea room. The creme was fresh and I really liked the cucummber sandwitches. The atomosphere was nice but it wasn't very femanion, I happen to like a quaint victorian look, this looked like a smoking palor, which brings me to the table cloths, loose the paper over the tables... my sister hated it! The tea was immpecable, I had the summer solistce and the empor's bride, they were both fantastic and steeped to perfection! I purchased them to take home to my girlfriends in NJ. They really enjoyed them too. I would deffently go back but I have so many other places I'd like to try first.
