This place is absolutely fantastic! One of the few tea rooms that not only accepts children but makes them feel extra special! It's so warm and welcoming I can't wait to go back again. This is easily the #1 tea room!

Heather, Yes we do accept children because we believe that they have to start sometime. A little etiquette can go a long way. We appreciate parents and grandparents who want children to experience fine dining, but relaxing.

The service was so wonderful and kind, made us feel right at home. We were all hooked before the first course was done and my daughter said we had to come back again before the second course was served:) The stunning decor and cute hats, which we had fun wearing, added to our wonderful experience and memories that we will always cherish! Thank you Paula for the wonderful pictures you took! :) Can't wait till I make another reservation!:)

The seven of us-ladies and girls-enjoyed such a lovely bridal shower for my granddaughter. The table was beautifully, elegantly set, the setting was quiet and private and such a treat for all. There was plenty of delicious tea and lemonade was provided for the younger guests. There were cute breads and sandwiches to fit the springtime theme. We appreciated welcoming hospitality and the group photo that Paula provided for us -It was an occasion to remember at this special time in our granddaughter's life.

What an amazing place! It blew my mind as they were the kindest people I ever met and are the people you feel should own a tea house! The tea and food was excellent and we raved about the decor and the ability to take pictures as much as we wanted. I have been to many places who do not allow photography, but it was wonderful that they did! They went so far as to make us feel at home that they took pictures of us themselves and sent them to our emails. We learned some history and they were very kind, doing things personally for us and my best friend for her birthday! They even supplied us with lemonade as we are not big tea drinkers! The hats and decor were wonderful and the use of the garden and gazebo were a blessing! I would love to return again!

My friend and I had tea here this week. The atmosphere and tearoom itself is very well done in a beautiful Victorian style with 2 rooms to take tea in plus the garden gazebo. A great attention to detail - especially the Peacock room ,the garden and even the bathrooms are decorated. Paula and Darryl are friendly 'hosts with the most' and give you history of the home and photos in the room as well as serve you tea. The fruit cup, scones, soup and dessert are very delicious. The scones with the devonshire cream were my favorite. They have an amazing 6 courses! The gift shop is quaint and the china used is so pretty and presented well. I would highly recommend this tea room, and I intend to return in the future. My only criticism is the lack of any black tea( we were served green peach and raspberry)and other varieties of tea. It would be a nice addition to an already wonderful experience!

They are not used to going to tea,
but Paula & Daryl made a special effort to see that they felt comfortable, and that they enjoyed themselves. The food was, and always is fantastic. Paula's decorating skills are amazing.
Can't wait to come back to see all the lovely Christmas decorations,
and to experience another fabulous tea!

This was my first visit to a tearoom and I just can't imagine that anyplace else could be better! The furnishings were beautiful, it reminded me of Cape May! The food and tea (great Chai) was excellent. Great Devonshire cream! I'll be back. I was wondering...are you able to provide options for those that are vegetarian (no meat only)? Thank you.

Cathleen, Hope that you felt welcome as you entered our home and tearoom and sounds like you enjoyed everything. Your question about vegetarian, and yes we can work with you, just make sure that you let us know when you book the next time.

Went with friends to the Victorian Parlor today. It was fantastic. There was so much food, I had to take some of it home. Everything was delicious and served so nicely. The house is wonderful too and decorated so beautifully. The couple was so friendly and nice. We will definitely go back. It was one of the best places we've been and we've been to quite a few tea houses.

While visiting a frend in York, PA, we were fortunate enough to enjoy an afternoon full tea at The Victorian Parlor. Could not ask for a better atmosphere, presentation of food, pleasantness of owners, and of course the actual taste of food provided. Great place to go for tea and would recommend to every one to try it if you live close by or visiting that area.

Paula and Daryl are outstanding hosts! I celebrated my birthday with family at the Victorian Parlor on 8/17/2013 and it was wonderful! The food itself, along with the presentation, was absolutely incredible. Loved the orange/cranberry scones! We had so much fun with the hats and the musical birthday bear was the perfect finishing touch! Thank you both so much for a wonderful day. Also, the gardens and waterfall are breathtaking! I also want to applaud Paula on her concern for chemo patients -- what a wonderful person you are! Thank you so much. I'll see you again real soon!

We love to visit tea rooms and this is the best one thus far! Paula and Daryl are delightful -- we left feeling like family and will definitely go back. The variety of food (all deliciously homemade) was terrific, and we loved the various courses. The two teas we had were a peach tea, then a Monks Mood (not sure I'm correctly remembering that name?). Both were delicious, and gave us two entirely different flavors. The Victorian decor, the hats (we did not intend to wear a hat but then found ourselves unable to resist and thoroughly enjoyed what that added to the experience), the gardens, and most especially the delightful hospitality, were unmatched by any place we've ever been before. We're already planning our next visit and will be bringing more friends with us each time!

We chose this tearoom with great expectations given that it is rated the #1 tearoom in PA. Frankly we were disappointed. The other tearoom I have visited in PA is far superior in decor, service, and quality and variety of food and tea brought to the table. The chicken soup was good. But why the scones and other sweets were brought out before the soup and sandwiches was disconcerting to say the least. We were offered a pot of tea which was already on the table when we arrived. The chocolate scone and chocolate muffin were dry. The cranberry orange scone was pretty good. All in all we were very disappointed.

- Frannie Turrell Jun 27th '13

Tearoom Response
Frannie, We are so very sorry that you had a less than desirable experience at The Parlor. Being part of 51 guests on that particular day is one reason tea was on the table when you arrived. However, your tea is unlimited and we strive to make you what ever you would desire. Scones are served before sandwiches and soup so you don't have too much sweets at the same time and give your pallet variety throughout the 6 course tea. We probably did not give the attention necessary to make sure that your needs were met and we do apologize.

I found the tea room while doing a search for a tea room near Hanover, PA. My friends and I love going to tea, it reminds of our days in England together with the DoD. The Victorian Parlor was such a treat. The house and garden are decorated in such detail, you really feel at home, and never want to leave. We loved that the owner’s attention to detail and special touches to make our visit a true experience – the hats that you can select from and wear made the experience extra special. We had a wonderful time! The tea was very good, the food excellent and the service superb. I will definitely pay another visit with my Mom, Aunts and Cousins. Thank you for helping us to have a really special day. Well worth the hour drive.

I LOVE The Victorian Tea Parlor.......I've been there (at least) 10 times. Today, we sat in the gazebo. It was a beautiful day with a gentle breeze in the lovely back garden.....just wonderful! Whenever I go there, I feel like I'm a personal guest of Paula and Daryl's. You actually feel as though they invited you over to their home for a deluxe tea. The food was delicious as always and the ambiance was incredible. If you are someone who enjoys going to teas, do yourself a favor........this one is the best!

My sisters and I took my mother for her birthday. We had an absolutely excellent experience :) The food was incredible(particularly our soup course of beef consomme with noodles), the teas were light and delicious(vanilla cream and peach paradise),brought by the pot,as much as we cared for and an iced tea as well, fresh brewed and sweet. We couldn't have had a better experience. The atmosphere is lovely, whimsical and fun. This has officially become a birthday tradition!
