I went there for the first time yesterday. It was just delightful.Atmosphere and service was just outstanding. The decor inside in keeping with the meaning of the name of the Tea House. The garden--lovely.
Many lovely items for sale.
The food, by the way, was delicious.

Even the availability of off street parking was very helpful. A must revisit is in order.

Our red hat group visited this past Saturday and had a delightful time. The decor and atmosphere were perfect. In addition to all the lovely hats , there was a gentleman in civil war garb playing a harmonica. The food presentation was outstanding and of course delicious.

I come from Italy and my aunt thought that I would enjoy this tea house, and of course I did! When you enter there`s a tiny gift shop and on the left you find a tea room. I way breathless when I set foot in there! Everything was decorated perfectly, the silverware was marvelous and the food was delicious! The thing I enjoyed most were the hats (as the owner noticed). So many different ones to choose from! I had to continuously change them every time a new dish was brought out. And of course the tea was great! We had eggnog, cinnamon vanilla and, my favourite, peach and mango.
The food was served at a nice relaxing pace which is a nice change from the general rush here in the states. This is a very nice place and I loved the relaxing and intimate atmosphere.
If I`m ever coming back to the USA this is a place I MUST go back to!

Just got back from my annual Christmas tea with my high school girlfriends. Both the eggnog and cinnamon tea were excellent. They never cease to amaze me with how beautiful the dining areas are decorated! The food is amazing and plentiful. I have visited most of the other tearooms in our area and they simply do not compare. From the relaxed atmosphere to the friendly owners and staff the entire experience is nothing short of delightful! This year they had their grandsons helping in the dining room and they looked so handsome in their dress pants and shirts. What a wonderful experience for all!!

I had purchased gift certificates for my 2 sisters and our mom for Christmas last year. We finally got everyone together to visit this lovely tearoom on November 3. We had a relaxing and fun experience. First of all, the tearoom is beautiful. There are 2 dining areas; the large area was decorated for autumn at the time, and another was decorated with beautiful peacock accessories. It is a stunning room, and I am now redecorating with this theme in my own dining room, although I know I won't duplicate the beauty of Paula's touch. The large dining area was so pretty too, and I am sure it would be gorgeous during the Christmas season and other times. Paula was so dear and accomodating, giving us a tour of the rooms plus explaining the interesting family history of the old photographs on the w... (more)

I will definately go back! An excellent choice!

I brought a group of ladies to the Tea Room 2 weeks ago and they are still raving about the experience and telling others what they missed! The food was delicious and plentiful, and Paula and Daryl could not have been more gracious to each one of us. Because so many could not make the trip on a Wednesday, we are returning in the Spring on a Thursday. When I told the ladies who had gone last month that I was having another trip to the Tea Room, some immediately said 'I'm going again!' Thank you again for a wonderful time!

This was a return visit for me. My 7 year old cousin told her grandmother that she would like to have a tea party. My mother, sister, aunt and cousin went to see wonderful Paula and Darrell at
The Victorian Parlor. If was even more beautiful with its Victorian decor and beautiful gardens then I remembered. We are from the area and know the house prior to Paula and Darrell purchasing it. Darrell filled us in and showed us pictures of the place before. Elizabeth had a wonderful time picking a hat that just fit perfect. She giggled at the hats the rest of us chose. We enjoyed the wonderful food. It was a very special treat for all of us. Paula is such a wonderful hostess and so willing to share stories with us. Thanks of a great time.

I absolutely positively had the most wonderful time at this Tea Room. The house was magnificently decorated and the food was amazing. I absolutely loved the sandwhiches with the dill spread and basil topping. The gift shop was by far an excellent girly shop. The jewlery is beautiful and I spent an hour trying on each thing. Not only is the atomsphere amazing but the owners were wonderful. Mrs. Paula and her husband are great people. I loved the place and I recommend it for any gals and gents to visit.

Variety:     Artistry:     Service:     Food:

The quality of this Tea Room is just excellent. There is nothing average about it. From the moment you leave your car, and enter the garden, you are taken with it's beauty. As a Victorian lover, my Granddaughter and I had a wonderful experience. We took many pictures inside and out, to have for our memory book. Finishing everything on our plates, is not something we usually do......but everything was so good, the wish for more was there with every part of this high tea. Paula's husband, just made you feel like you were the only one in the Tea House, and that made you feel very special. After finishing we spent over an hour trying on every Bling Bling, scarf, and hat we took a fancy to. After making our purchases, we took our last look at the beautiful garden before leaving. Paula was just the most personable owner I have ever met. It was a wonderful Birthday for me, and a very special treat for my Granddaughter, who had never been to a Tea House. We will return to this special place again. Jeanette

- Jeanette Waters 08/24/12

Jeanette, Special occasions are a great way to celebrate. We offer much 'Bling' at great prices to satisfy that hunger totake the special item home and another memory.

I have been a customer to the tea house for many years now. My family, friends and I usually have tea 2 - 4 times a year. I have always had the most wonderful, relaxing and happy times. When you walk in, you immediately feel like you are visiting a great friend. Everyone there is so nice and warm. Until 8/8/08 my mother would always join our group. Since she has passed away, my daugther and I, and sometimes others, make it a point to go to the tea room to celebrate my wonderful mother. We always feel happy and content when we leave. Thanks to Paula and everyone for making every trip special!

Try them! you will love them!

Like many reading this we have enjoyed varied tea rooms. For us these include England, Ireland, and Victoria, B.C. Paula and Darrell rank with any for their their décor, graciousness, and the taste of the varied offerings. The six course High Tea was an elegant and refreshing affair.

Take pleasure in choosing your seating. Indoors the Victorian décor includes diverse hats to try on. Ladies wearing “their” hat lend a festive atmosphere. Outdoors, is a gazebo that sits amidst a delightful garden. Watch out for the blue heron near the waterfall pond!

Originally I only chauffeured my mom and wife. Once Mom was seated I retreated to a local café for a simple repast and time for quiet reflection. Paula’s invitation to return was motivated by her delight in serving and sharing; not to earn more money. Let Paula and Darrell pamper you in a oasis that we will return to regardless of the distance.

- Joe Tweed 07/16/12

Tearoom Response
Joe, Comparing The Parlor to establisments in England,Ireland and BC ia amazing and hard to realize that we could even consider being in the same ranks. Thank you for your glowing review.

I had an Aunt visiting from Florida who had one wish during her visit….to go to a Victorian Tea Room that would take her back in time. I’ve never been to a tea room before and so I asked my daughter to research this. She suggested the Victorian Parlor even thought it was an hour and a half away. So off we went on July 5th, never giving thought that we may need a reservation. After our long drive we rang the bell and the owner asked if we had a reservation. When I said no and that there were five of us, she asked for a moment, checked and came back “we may have just enough” and requested a few moments to put things together. She did urge us to have a reservation next time as they may not always be able to accommodate.

We all were very impressed with the atmosphere, service ... (more)

- Laura 07/10/12

Laura, Wow! What a lucky day for you that we had a table for you and enough food. I remember the panic setting in as you and your family came through the front door. It was meant to be that we were able to serve you. Come back soon.

In mid-June St John Lutheran Church, traversed from Baltimore to enjoy and celebrate our 4th annual afternoon tea. The experience was wonderful beginning with Paula greetings us at the door and having everything ready. Every single course was delightful from the fruit salad to the strawberry shortcake. The teas were wonderful and Daryl kept the pots filled. The garden was in full bloom and many enjoyed sitting outside after tea and shopping. Many of those who were returning participants commented that everything was even better than before. For one new guest she expressed this was her 'new favorite tearoom.' Whether the group is large or small (and I have been there with a few friends), the hospitality, food, and gardens make for a most memorable experience (take your camera).

I have been to about 15 different tea rooms in the past five years, but this one continues to remain my favorite by far. I have been to the Victorian Parlor 6 times, and the taste and presentation of the food is always outstanding and impressive. The owners and staff always make a point to interact with each group/table present that day. The atmosphere is friendly, fun, and upbeat. The backyard is one of my favorite features of the Victorian Parlor. The hard work and effort put into maintaining such a beautiful scenery definately deserves respect. The waterfall fish pond, numerous flower beds, and unique decor make for a great background for pictures afterwards. I would recommend this Parlor to anyone and everyone, which I continue to do. The Victorian Parlor continues to amaze and impress me each and every time.

I haven't been to the Victorian Parlor in a couple of years. When I visited this afternoon I was reminded of why this still remains my favorite 'Tea' location. With six courses of exquisitely prepared food including but not limited to a fruit cup, salad, scones and brownies, chicken wrap and cracker with a ham and cheese spread, beef barley soup, and angel/sponge cake with sherbet, none of us left hungry. Paula has continued to remodel the inside rooms in interesting and unique ways and Daryl's outside garden spaces are breathtakingly gorgeous. It is always a pleasure to visit the Victorian Parlor....I've never been disappointed.....it's a great experience. Daryl even took valuable time away from his plantings to give me detailed directions to Brown's Market. Thanks, Daryl.....your directions got us there without a hitch!

What a marvelous experience my sisters and I had while visiting your tea room. I have been to several through the years while on vacation. This was by far the best, the food, the teas and the charming hosts with tails and anecdotes of your past which was pointed out through the family photos seen in the well lived rooms. We had an experience from our grandmother's past eating and sipping with our colorful hats on. Thank you for the memories.
