The Victorian Parlor

I received a call from the owner apologizing for an overcharge of $2.80 by default and would refund - how about keeping it for seed propagation for another visit? We thoroughly enjoyed the atmospher, service, food, and hosting reception. We could not have encountered a better experience. One will always have personal preferences but again that can be a passing whim and know that not everything will be as expected as I have visisted many tearooms and have my own teas occasionally so it is important to allow for differences and preferences that give dimension and variety in the occasion. Thanks for the wonderful experience - especially for the one lady who was with me experiencing a tearoom for the first ever.

We were looking forward to our first visit to The Victorian Parlor for a Formal Birthday Tea with 16 friends and family in honor of our Grandaughter, as she turned five. What a wonderful time was had by all, in the 'Valentine' decorated Tea Room, that included 10 adults and 6 children, ages 3 to 7. The victorian decor was a feast for the eyes, with it's beautiful furnishings & table settings, comfortable seating, and charming wall decorations in every nook and cranny that all provided such a cozy and hospitable atmosphere for tea! After selecting hats from the huge selection available, there was time for a wonderful tour of the other tea rooms and gift shop, before our 6-course formal tea began. (more)a delight it was to taste and savor each course's flavors that included a cherry flavored fruit salad, fresh garden salad with a Poppyseed dressing, sweets that included scones and devonshire cream, coffee brownies, and blueberry cake slices, tea sandwhiches of chicken salad & cole slaw, along with an out-of-this-world ham and cheese croissant, a choice of beef barley or chicken and rice soup, finished off with mouth-watering peaches and cream, or carrot cake. The meal exceeded all expectations! Our service provided by Paula and Daryl was superb and hospitable, as was the serving staff's efforts to please all the ages who attended the tea party. The unexpected offering of coffee for those who were so inclined, the surprise gift for each of the children, and the interesting history of the Tea Room's Property shared by Host Daryl as he moved from table to table, were so appreciated! This is by far THE nicest Tea Room in the states of Maryland and Pennsylvania, out of all we have visited through the years, with it's charming appearance, outstanding service and hospitality, delicious tea and coffee, and the quality,flavors, and food preparation of all foods we sampled while there on Sunday. We will definitely recommend The Victorian Parlor to family and friends, and look forward to a return visit for another life celebration in the future! What a blessing this tea experience was for all of us, and we can't wait to sample more of their tea choices in the future! Hadn't been here for years but I realize how much I missed! A birthday celebration with my daughters was made more special by Paula & Daryl. Superbly impressed with quality, quantity, and presentation of food, the friendliness of the staff, and the exquisite decor. I hope to enjoy the experience again. Food and tea were incredible and the atmosphere, including the staff are the best! My favorite tea room and you always leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face. very warm and welcoming!

Just a note to let you know that my first visit to the Victorian Parlor was absolutely delightful! I have been to tea rooms in the past but none compare to this. First of all the amount of food you get is unbelievable and it was delicious! From start to finish every course satisfied your appetite. I must say that the fruit compote was my favorite and the soup was a close second. I have never had beef that tender!

Paula was an exquisite hostess and Daryl our host was interesting to listen to with his knowledge on the history of the home and surrounding area. Paula also has a knack for decorating. One of the best teas I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. It was at a very relaxed pace and every course was a pleasant surprise. The scones and devenshire cream were to die for. Egg salad delightful as were Paula and her staff. And the teas of course were splendid and kept flowing. Would like to make this a monthly event with the girls if we could. Thanks for an enjoyable experience.

I took 8 of my best friends to Tea for a Christmas present on Jan. 21st. The day started out with snow but we arrived to the warmest welcome from Paula and the staff. The tea room was just beautiful and as usual the 6 course tea totally exceeded our expectations. The ladies had only one regret! It all had to come to an end. Don't miss this one its the BEST.

Visited today with 4 friends, 3 whom never been there before. Told them how great it was,that they would not go away hungry and that the food and teas were always fantastic. They were not disappointed, they loved it and will come back again. Keep up the good work, your Tea Room is the best. Love it !!!!

Today was my first time at The Victorian Parlor and it was a great experience. The food and tea were excellent! I will definitely be back.

I thought it was a wonderful environment, so cheerful and freindly, and I will certainly be back. I loved the stores, but I especially loved the six courses and the teas. The teas were lovely. I think many people should try the Victorian Parlor as a tea treat.

This was about my 8th visit to the Victorian Parlor and each visit is a wonderful dining experience. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our experience. I can't say enough about the delicious food, victorian atmosphere and having been there at Christmas time, the decorations were way beyond my expectations.

Paula and Daryl are the ultimate host and hostess, as well at their staff. Can't wait for my next visit.

My friend and I were pleased with the food and the atmosphere. We definitely were not hungry when we left.We did not feel rushed and the courses were well spaced.All six courses were delectable and well served.I will definitely go back.

I have been to a number of tearooms over the years, and this one is my favorite. I brought my parents there today, and we all enjoyed it so very much. All six (yes, six!) courses of the meal were delicious and filling. First was a fruit compote, then salad, a selection of scones served with devonshire cream, tea sandwiches, choice of 2 hearty soups, and choice of 2 cakes. The cinnamon tea and vanilla/caramel teas were excellent. The staff and atmosphere provide such a warm and hospitable feeling. I also must say the Christmas decorations were just beautiful - they far exceeded my expectations. I look forward to my next visit, which should be soon!

My daughters and I visit annually on Black Friday. What a delightful, relaxing way to spend Black Friday. The excellent tea is enhanced by the hospitality of the owners.

we pick a Victorian Hat to wear then we have the delicious tea and scrumptious food. Then we waddle to the gift shop where we find something everytime, this year a feather headpiece that I love.

Staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Abundant food at each of the 6 courses. Gorgeous setting.

We have been going yearly for some time now, and it's always such a wonderful experience. The food is excellent, the decorations are superb, and the service is A number one! I would encourage you to visit this fine business establishment.

We had a very enjoyable time. The place was beautifully decorated. The food was excellent and the prices in the gift shop were very reasonable.
We plan to go again soon.

I took my aunt from Florida here and she was impressed with the Tea Room. Paula and Darryl were magnificiant, food was excellent. I've been here three times myself and NEVER caught them on a bad day!

Absolutely a wonderful experience! A friend and I belong to a tea group and enjoy the experiences. First, quickly I want to tell you that we had plans to go to the Fox Ridge Farm gift shoppe and tea in Stewartstown. Upon arriving the owner was not even there during the stated business hours after over an hour drive! The poorest of customer service. Do not go there! So we detoured to Spring Grove to see if our favorite tea house could accomodate us. Since we were in this predicament we did not have the phone number so we were just stopping in unannounced. When we arrived a man stood smiling, very inviting and dressed so nicely. We don't see that much anymore either. We asked if they had room for us. He was so polite and they joyously sat us and served us. The food as always was sooooo good!... (more) Great service and a beautiful place. They could not have been any better about it. We loved it and enjoyed our experience there. One server even went out of her way to say to us..I am glad you could join us! We were thrilled and it made our bad experience from earlier change to a great day. So thank you very much Victorian Tea house. We will be back again!

I've been to the Victorian Parlor for many, many teas and they have never disappointed me! Wonderful food and wonderful peopole! I look forward to many more teas!

This tea room is absolutely amazing! I love taking my daughters here for tea. The atmosphere is perfect, and right now the outside garden is incredibly beautiful and in bloom. I have to say our visit today was just as great as our past ones. The food was exceptional, especially the corn chowder (had to order extra to go!). Six courses, each one presented so beautifully and clearly made with such care (and talent). Thank you again, Paula and Darryl, for a wonderful afternoon with my girls! Will be back in a few weeks!

Still the best tearoom around. The food is varied and VERY delicious. You will NOT go away hungry. The gift shop is also great especially if you like jewelry.

My daughter and I have a standing once a month date to go to tea. This is the first time that we visited the Victorian Parlor and we can't say enought good things about it. The food was delicious and well prepared. The service was excellent. The house and garden are just lovely. What a wonderful experience.

My sister and I took our 10 year old neice to The Victorian Parlor for her birthday. It was a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. My neice had the time of her life wearing a different hat through each course. The sevice was also excellent and the rooms are tastefully decorated in Victorian Era motif. Very pleasant experience!

I've been to a lot of Tea Rooms but this one is by far the best. So much wonderful food and pleasant surroundings. Thanks for a great birthday treat.

We had our 'Moms Night Out' at the Victorian Tea Parlour last evening and it is hands down the best tea room in the area! The food, well you just can't say enough amazing things about the food, and the ambiance is as delicous as the food. I had a wonderful time!

Our visit to the Victorian Parlor was one of our most delightful and delicious of all our monthly teas. The setting, food and teas, and the ladies all deserve a #1 rating. A nice touch was being served both ice tea (on a terribly hot day,)without requesting it, as well as hot tea. This was a first for our group. All the food, especially the homemade bread and soup, was outstanding. And the ladies were so much fun!

What a wonderful Tea Day I had with you.A party of four enjoyed all you had to offer and what lovely Gifts you sell to keep the memory going until I can return. OH, the outside garden took my breath away.

This was my first time having tea. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was wonderful. The hostess and server were very friendly and seemed to really enjoy doing their jobs. Beautful gardens and rooms. The hats were a fantastic and what a variety. I would love to do this again soon!

Second time having tea here and it was as nice if not better than before! WONDERFUL FOOD!!! Their egg salad on freshly baked sour dough was to die for! Their chicken chowder was out of this world. If you have never been, you NEED to go!!! I can hardly wait until the next tea party:) Thanks Paula!

This is the third year our church group has traveled from Baltimore to The Victorian Parlor. We are always delighted by the delicious food (this year corn soup and chocolate scones served warm were a big hit), the attention to service,and the gracious hostess, Paula Senft. This year the weather was picture perfect which allowed time in the lovely garden plus a browse in the garage gift shop (recently opened). We enjoyed our visit tremendously.

I came with two friends. We were very pleasantly surprised by the surroundings and the food. The only drawback was that the cranberry scones were not done, and that the soup was served as the fifth course. We would have preferred it served as the second or third course.
However overall we liked it very much and we will probably be back.

My daughter and I along with a busload of ladies from Lancaster Pa dined at the Victorian Parlor earlier this week. Oh what a lovely time we had. The fabulous back yard, gorgeous Victorian house,and mouth watering luncheon was outdone only be the friendly professional service we received. I would definitely recommend the Parlor to my friends!

On May 6th my tea friends & I visited The Victorian Parlor for the first time. A beautiful ride from Maryland to find a lovely tea garden & true victorian atmosphere. Two teas were offered ..caf & decaf .. & the six courses were delicious. A wonderful tea was enjoyed by all & we look forward to a return visit.

Yesterday ,y sister and I enjoyed a delightful 6 course tea at your teahouse. We never ran out of objects to reminisce about.

Each year we come to the Victorian Parlor for my daughter's birthday. The atmosphere of the Gazebo and their lovely garden along with a very filling and delicious tea brings us back each year. The host and hostess (Paula and Daryl) are a wonderful couple who make everyone feel 'at home'. We would highly recommend this tea room to everyone.

I hosted a bridal shower for my soon to be daughter-in-law over the weekend and was very pleased with the experience. Paula and Darryl and staff were extremely friendly and very accomodating. The room was lovely and the tea and food was delicious. I will happily recommend the Victorian Parlor Teahouse to anyone interested in hosting a special event, or looking for an enjoyable, relaxing afternoon with friends. Thank you for making the day so special for my family.

My grandmother, aunt, mom, daughter and myself celebrated my mom's birthday at The Victorian Parlor. We had such a great time! The food was amazing! The owners were so friendly, and shared the history of the house and their families with us. They were very kind and accomodating to my 4 year old daughter, which is very important to me. I think we spent more time browsing the gift shop than we did having lunch, though. Lots of treasures to find there! We can't wait to go back!

Elegant historic Tearoom Decor with 'like family' friendly service and exceptionally great food and drink! We attended the special Valentine's Saturday Dinner and we are still talking about our wonderful experience that evening! Highly recommended ....!!!

Daryl was a pleasure as he showed us around the parlor and the old pictures hanging on the walls. I would recommend this to anyone and can't wait for my two girls to get a little older so that I can take them to their first tea.

My niece treated me to the tearoom for my birthday. My Mother and Sister also joined us. We enjoyed choosing from all the different hats. The atmosphere was great. The food was AWESOME. EXQUISITELY TASTEFULLY HOSPITABLY WONDERFULL EXPERIENCE!!! Had the most delightful baby shower ever experienced at the Victorian Tea Parlor. A party of 24, we were served uniquely delicious food in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The house is gorgeously decorated. And it was so much fun to try on and wear the many Victorian hats. This is my favorite tea parlor. Not only is the food, atmosphere, and service impeccable, but the gardens and fish pond are very inviting and relaxing. I have organized 2 bus trips from my church over the past 3 yrs. Everyone wants to go back!!!

I recently took my twin 6-year old girls here for their first high-tea experience, and we had an amazing time. The decor, the food, and the service were absolutely 100% perfect in every way. The best: chocolate scones served warm from the oven and a fabulous corn chowder. We were at the tea room for nearly 2.5 hours and my girls loved every minute of it. We will be back again and again! I encourage anyone who hasn't been, to make a reservation right away and check out this gem of a tea room.

My husband and our friends had our Valentines dinner at the tearoom 2/12, it was excellent, food, service, presentation was top notch loved all the personal touches to the meal and the atmosphere.

This was the frist time I had ever been to a tea house. I brought along my 2 yr old. Daughter and my grandmother. We could not have had a better time together. We are now making thbis a once a month girls date once a month.
