Eating at this ersats 'tea room' was like watching an episode of 'Keeping Up Appeareances' starring Hyacinth Buffet!
This woman, the 'Proprieter' as she bragged to us all, thinks she is really something special. It was really comical to say the least.
What was obviously doctored up grocery store chicken salad served in plastic baskets by a waitress dressed in jeans with her long hair falling much too close to our food, followed around by a little brat on a bicycle yelling and crying, made this experience a real joke! We drove for over an hour to get to this place which is in a wonderful location in a beautiful area.
Worn out furniture, junk stacked all over the foyer, an over abundance of carnival trinkets for sale most, of which were made in China...what a disappointment. None of us will ever go back. These people are way, WAY out of their element.

We had been to a few of the tea houes, but I think this was the worst one. All things were either overly sweet or over run by butter. This is a tea house w/ overly sweet items that you will probably see in your local grocery store. Tea selection was lacking, the house was full of very item they are selling. Chances of us going back are next to none.

'Jennifer' 03/09/08 not only needs to take a remedial course in basic grammar and spelling, but what planet is she on? Almost every review I have seen for this establishment includes 'a little girl running around with her pants falling down'. My bet is that 'Jennifer' is either an employee, friend or member of the owner's family. The house is lovely, but that is pretty much all that is worth the trip.

I thought that my first experience there was great the hard work these people put in to this place made it beautiful!!! The food is great and i love how everyday they have different teas folled by all the other teas on the menu. I also like the fact that every couple of day they have different favored scones the devonshire was excellent i enjoyed the soup, salad, and the tea bread especially the cinnamon tea bread it is Grand if i may say so myself. I also enjoyed looking at the little baby she was so georgous and the little girl although her pants kept falling off she was very outgoing and was very cheerful. They had just opened up at the time as i was told the place is pretty and all the servers are wonderful if u have patients and a good attitude towards them....I would go back again and again! I would recomend this place to anybody

I was very disappointed and will not go back. For the price I expected more upscale service. Although we had a reservation we waited several minutes before anyone greeted us. The staff appeared to all be related and very underdressed. There was a baby and young child running around, not what I would expect in a Tea Room. Our salad dressing and devonshire cream (cold cream cheese) was serviced in those tacky plastic to go cups. Disappointing.

I was rather disappointed on my visit. We went for the Holiday Tea with a large party. The reservations were made well in advance and yet there was a mix up upon our arrival. The staff were discussing the mix up amongst themselves and cursing. All of my guests and myself felt very stressed. We were sat a little late and we were at 3 different tables. The servers were under dressed; however, our server was very pleasant. The food was OK, some of the portions were large instead of bite-size. The tea was excellent, but only 2 flavors were offered. I felt the price for a Holiday Teas was right, but what we received was not. Although we heard many apologies for the confusion, there was no incentive to return........

The location is lovely, but having the gift amongst the tea rooms left me feeling interupted. People should not be milling around you while you try to have a cozy tea. The staff were dressed in jeans and a t-shirt(with an apron). The food was served in a red tacky plastic basket and the sanwiches were on Wonder bread. The tea itself was the hightlight, perfect and served well.

I am so glad this was NOT my first tea experience. It was horrible. Between messing up our reservations and splitting our party up among two tables, we were told the food would make up for our inconvience - it didn't. The Owner sat the her desk the whole time looking at us, commenting on our conversations. There was a child running around without any shoes and with her sweat pants falling down. We were offered 4 sandwiches and 6 desserts - none of which were any good and definitely not worth the full price we paid. I would not go there again and I will not recommend them.

The house is very easy to find in Powell, OH. Our group was in the panelled/red room. It was very cozy with all of the Christmas decorations.
The peach tea and the quiche dish were both very good.

This tea house is terrible. We made reservations weeks in advance. When we got there they did not have the room set up for us. We had to wait 30 mins before it was ready. The owner kept saying the food would make up for it.Well it did not. The soup has huge balls of grease floating on top. The sandwiches were hard. Then they gave us old scones and some kind of warm cream cheese frosting they called Devonshire cream. Then they gave us cold bread pudding and four other fill sized desserts. They are supposed to be bite sized. They also had a child there that must have been her grand daughter, running around with her pants falling down and her shoes off. She keep looking at us.It was not the relaxing afternoon tea that it should have been. Plus they charged us full price after all that.I would never go there again or reconmend it anyone.
