This was a fun vacation stop for our family - with a variety of delicious food that everyone in our group could enjoy. We loved sitting in the screened in porch surrounded by the great outdoors. Cheerful service even when we arrived close to closing time! Loved all the special touches, the Wild Plum tea, and the variety of desserts. This is one of the best tearooms that I have ever been to, although it is different. First off, neither my husband nor myself are hot tea drinkers, so the fact that they do not have a variety of teas does not faze us at all. The Wild Plum tea they offer, which we drink cold, is really good. The docor is rustic and you can eat inside, on the screened-in porch (we like that), or outside on the veranda. The big reason we drive hours to get there is the food! We have been several times, and everything we have ever tried has been delicious. From the strata (think quiche) to the stack sandwich (I love it!) to soups to fruit to salad....everything is great! Once we sat near someone that was from England, and they were raving over the food! I am always too full for dessert, but they offer all kinds of things--even cobblers! And one thing I really like is that they have daily specials so that you don't get bored with the same old thing. If you like good food, this is worth the trip, but get there early because they fill up during prime vacation times.

A lovely place with great food. Worth the drive. There is only one kind of tea offered, but it is yummy.

This is a charming place for lunch when visiting the Smoky Mountain area. It portrays the area's unique style by being housed in a log cabin. I loved how the waitresses were dressed. It was very crowded when we were there, and our table was small, but the atmosphere is so unique. It is in the Glades craftsman area off the beaten path in the Gatlinburg area. It's refreshing to find a restaurant so unusual and with such atmosphere. The portions are a little small for husbands who accompany their wives, but everything was delicious.

This is just a place for lunch. They are quite busy, but there isn't any special tea service. They are know for their own ice tea and plum muffins, but the rest is just regular fair. The food is good, but it is off the beaten path.

Absolutely no tea service here!!!! They don't even know what a tea luncheon is...very odd and very sad that an eatery place can call its self a tea room.

I was very dissapointed with this place. I don't understand why restaurants call themselves 'tea rooms'. This place doesn't even offer a 'tea' and when I asked the server brought me out a wooden box with Taxo tea bags in it! When I again explained that I was looking for a tea which serves sandwiches and scones etc. she said 'Oh we do have scones we serve one with our salads...not a tea room ladies and you shouldn't call yourselves on, very misleading!!!!

I was disappointed to discover that Wild Plum is not actually a tearoom. There was very little variety of tea and the menu was also limited - a soup, a couple of salads, a sandwich, and dessert. We waited for over half an hour, even though there were a number of empty tables. If you are looking for a true tearoom experience, this is definitely not the place to go.

The Wild Plum has an enchanting location, fantastic and unique foods and the best service of any place in Gatlinburg. The quality of food was obvious, and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy, not pretentious. The chairs are a bit small, but they are part of the enviroment. I only waited about 5-10 minutes for a seat, but I would have waited an hour.

In response to Ms. Ober's review,I have called ahead to the Wild Plum Tea Room for reservations. The Smokey Mtn. region is always bustling with tourists and the Wild Plum is a popular spot. They have a wonderful reputation for good food across the region. Sounds like you and your husband hit them on an 'off day.' It happens to the best of tea rooms.

I was sorely disappointed with my experience at the Wild Plum Tearoom this fall (2007). I had been wanting to visit since their small write-up in the Gatlinburg Vacation Guide (plus what I had found on-line). Almost everything was a disappointment. The restaurant was very busy, we waited 15 minutes, and were then seated at a VERY tiny table (2 feet in diameter,if that) in the very corner of the crowded restaurant. The chairs were also small, ricktey, and made of wicker, which made my husband and I, who are larger people, feel very uncomfortable. The menu was limited, but the service was polite and competent. The food was terrible. The plum iced tea was okay (nothing to rave about). My fresh fruit was okay (how can you mess up fresh fruit?!), the orzo salad was good, but the chicken salad was awful (a couple of large chunks of celery, two large cubes of chicken, a few other ingredients, and all bound together with Miracle Whip). The muffins were tiny (about 2 inches in diameter, with a tablespoon of jelly for all four of them). My husband said his tuna croissant sandwich was the worst he had ever eaten, and his soup was watery, lukewarm, and tasteless. The setting itself was pretty enough, but the worst part of the experience was the ambiance; we were mostly surrounded by people at other tables who were obviously (hard to miss the conversation when one is that close!) nothing but haughty, pretentious prigs! So sad that our hopes for a cute, tasty, and DIFFERENT restaurant in the Smokies were so cruely dashed...

My mother-in-law took me to lunch there this summer. It was such a pleasant experience. The iced wild plum tea was to die for as was their homemade pimiento cheese sandwich. My mother-in-law had the chicken salad sandwich and enjoyed hers as well. The cozy atmosphere, divine food, and wonderful staff made this tea room a favorite of mine! I am going to take my mom and sisters there this Christmas! Talk about a treasure in the smokies!

We visit Gatlinburg about once a year and ALWAYS make a point of enjoying the Wild Plum each time. Their signature plum tea, plum muffins and plum jelly are heavenly and the entrees are as delicious as they look.

Always a joy to visit this tea room. The servers are wonderful and personable which sets the lovely atmosphere for sure. Take time to notice what is going on around you. Other fun people are there and it is nice to chat with them! Love their special Wild Plum Tea.

the WILD PLUM was recommended to us by a friend and this little tearoom right off the loop from all the crafts was wonderful.we had their special wild plum iced tea on a very hot afternoon and it was very refreshing.three of us ladies tried different things to eat and all were fantastic. the chicken salad on thick raisin nut bread was excellant.after our lunch they offered a trio of three different desserts that was just enough to satisfy our taste for something sweet. the bread pudding with a rum sauce was a favorite with all of us.we are coming back in october and we can't wait .the staff was very friendly and even gave us tips on things to do in gatlinburg. thank you WILD PLUM for a wonderful experience.

My mother and I enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Wild Plum Tea Room. Both the food and the service was excellent. I had the hot tea and my mother had the iced tea. Both were the house tea- Wild Plum. The Wild Plum Muffins were great. We each had the chicken salad, pasta salad, fruit and a scone. We were very full and satisfied when we left. The people were so very nice and made you feel welcome. We enjoyed our lunch on the screened porch overlooking the little creek. I will certainly be returning.

My husband and I try to go to the Wild Plum Tea room twice a year. The first time we went was for a very small reception for our wedding and we took our closest friends with us. The Wild Plum made it very special for us. They had decorated with large boquets of wild flowers and made a nice wedding cake for us that was divine. One of our friends enjoyed the tea so much that Brian brought him a large pitcher of it as a joke so he wouldn't run out! We especially enjoy the Christmas dinner that they hold in December, Absolutely amazing!!! The service and the food at the Wild Plum Tea room is fantastic. You will want to come back time and time again!!! Thank you Wild Plum for the wounderful memories!

There is a group of us 'girls' that make a trip to Gatlinburg yearly. The Wild Plum was recommended to us several years ago. It has been has been a 'must do' ever since. We have fondly nicknamed the 'Wild Plum' the 'Crazy Grape', which depicts the fun atmosphere of the tea room and the 'behavior' of our group! We miss Brian and wish him well in his new ventures.

WE HAVE BEEN TO THE TEA ROOM A NUMBER OF TIMES - SOMETIMES JUST MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF. SOMETIMES WE BRING THE GRANDCHILDREN. WE ALL ENJOY IT SO MUCH THAT THAT'S ONE OF THE FIRST PLACES WE TALK ABOUT GOING TO WHEN WE GET TO GATLINBURG. WE VISIT ABOUT TWICE A YEAR. LOVE THE MUFFINS AND HOT TEA. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. THANK YOU FOR HAVING SUCH A NICE PLACE TO TAKE THE KIDS TO EAT AND TRY TO TEACH THEM PROPER MANNERS.

It's a GREAT pleasure to find a place this nice that is not overloaded with tourists, and so near to a heavy duty ticky tacky tourist mecca like Gatlinburg. We recommend it HIGHLY ! Carl & Martha in Knoxville, TN

WHAT A JOY IT WAS TO SHARE THIS GREAT TEA ROOM WITH AN OLD FRIEND. THE PRESENTATION AND FUN ATMOSPHERE EVEN MADE THE WILD PLUM TEA MORE DELICIOUS. ALLOW TIME TO ENJOY EVERYTHING GOING ON AROUND YOU. SUCH A FUN TIME -- YOU WILL WANT TO LINGER!
