I have lived 2 blocks from this tea room for over 20 years and kicked myself when I went there for the first time. I feel the need to warn customers that half a block east is Greenmount Avenue....which is VERY DANGEROUS....So if anyone looks shady avoid them at all costs. There was fabulous food, very friendly employee's , and the best tea I have ever had.The decorations made me feel like I was in a fantasy. Being outgoing I had a great time with a trunk filled with silly hats and play jewelry. The server found herself laughing because everytime she came upstairs to serve the next part of the high tea she found me in a new hat and more jewelry. Both me and my friend had a great time.....and at no time did I or my friend feel like the establishment was not clean. If we did we would not have stayed. The review from another customer was very strange to me. Give it a try and you won't be sorry.

This teahouse is certainly unique. The food was plentiful and the service was very friendly and attentive. The victorian style house and decor was perfect for a high tea.

I had my 40th birthday party here and it was absolutely fabulous. My friends and I were quite impressed with both the quality and quantity of food as well as the Victorian look of the establishment. I was presented with a crown, jewels and balloons which were all surprises to me. The twenty of us were serviced in our private room, upstairs, and we were adivsed that there was no time limit on our party. Service was a bit slow due to a call out but otherwise I would recommend this establishment to anyone visting the Baltimore area. I also plan on taking my daughters there so they can experience a proper tea as well.

I made reservations at this tearoom based on the reviews on this site. I have been to tea at many places, including the Ritz at Tyson's Corner so I know what a good tea is like. I have to say that the service staff was wonderful - polite, exotic, friendly. The food was good. Not exceptional, but good. And plentiful. However, I was really embarrassed that I had invited my daughter's family and sister-in-law to this establishment. The carpet in the upstairs room where we were served was filthy. There is no way this could have accumulated in the course of one day, or even one week. The high chair they had for our use was so dirty my daughter cleaned it as best she could before she put her son in it. The silver tea service in the middle of the table was tarnished. I certainly have no... (more)

I have been meaning to write this review because I promised the ladies of this very nice establishment that I would. I take my niece to tea for her birthday every year. She likes tea and doesn't want the 'kids' versions of things. The place we used to go closed and I went nuts going through web sites trying to find a place with good reviews and would feel comfortable taking her. This place was so great. I called and booked a tea party for her. They asked her age and if she liked any characters or anything special. Hannah-Montana all the way I said. When we got there, the house looks old, and it is, but it's a realy Victorian house and that totally adds to the charm. We were greeted warmly when we got there and asked to wait a moment while they finished setting up. Meanwhile, my niece and I... (more)

The concierge at my hotel recommended this Tea Room to me during my last stay in Baltimore. I must confess I was a little reluctant to venture away from the Inner Harbor area, but I'm glad I did. This place is amazing! Upon entering,I was impressed by the atmosphere and beautiful decor. I was greeted by a charming hostest who made my assistang and I feel like we were visiting her home instead of a public establishment (I Love That). We went in for a late lunch but also had an 'informal' tea. The food was absolutely delicious;so much so that I ordered a second dish to take back to the hotel for later! The tea was good as well, but lunch sealed the deal for me. Be sure that whenever I'm in the Balto/Washington area I'll be visiting the cafe again!
