Overview

Owner Eve Mickendrow has captured the essence of a Victorian tea room, with the relaxed atmosphere of the Scottish highlands. The burgundy covered tables are set with china and crystal she’s collected over the years.

The table settings are as unique as the patrons that walk through the door each day. In this, her 14th year as proprietress of Time Well Spent, the tea room has become a favorite of Summerville locals and visitors to the Charleston area.

I have had afternoon tea on three separate occasions at Time Well Spent. Each time was fantastic. Everyone who works at this tea room is extremely nice. We were running late one time and they were understanding and accommodating. Each time we have gone, I have brought some children with me (ages 5 - 7) and they have been fantastic with the kids. I was hesitant to bring the girls with me, but they have special teas, foods and even tea cups and tea pots for the younger crowd.

There is a wide selection of teas, but they did seem to be lacking in the caffeine-free teas the last time I was there.

The food is delicious - especially the chicken salad which is to DIE for!

I drive over an hour to go to tea here. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys tea.
