Variety: This is a wonderful treat! They have a large variety of teas and the owner KNOWS HER TEA!! She can be very quiet and will let you browse to your heart's content. She is not at all trying to push her merchandise or sell a product. You can leave with just a 'hello' and a 'thank you for coming in.' But you would be missing a great opportunity to learn about tea. This lady knows her teas, her tea history and the latest benefits of tea. She listened to what we liked in our tea and made some valuable and delicious suggestions for us. We will be back. Remember, still waters may run deep!! |

Variety: My husband purchased an adorable teapot here to give to me as a Christmas gift. Then he brought me in a couple weeks ago to pick out some new teas. They have a very nice selection, including a lot of Rooibos, which is my favorite. The store was very nice and comfortable, and the service was very good. While we were there, I also purchased some teas for my mother to try. I'll be bringing her in with me in a few days so she can stock up on her favorites, and so I can restock my own. I would definitely recommend this shop to others. |

Variety: As a tea room owner, we must strongly disagree with the previous review. Colleen and her husband Pat work very hard to stay abreast of all the current research, health benefits, trends, etc. in this fast growing industry of drinking tea. Colleen's passion for educating others interested in teas and her pursuit in obtaining a Professional Tea Specialist Certification is admirable. We are very fortunate to be able to tap into her knowledge on a regular basis. Sincerely, Al and Phyllis Wilkerson Sweet Afton Tea Room |

Variety: Although I liked the lady working there, she didn't seem to know all that much about the tea. She kind of seemed like the tea types that only drink Earl Grey and read Jane Austin (nothing against either of the above mentioned, but...). I'd go again if I was in the area but not make the trip. |

Tearoom Response
Thank you for taking the time to come to our store and I am disappointed that we did not get to speak in depth. If we had you would have learned that I've personally researched, taste tested and selected all 126 varieties of teas we carry; 11 blacks, 22 flavored blacks, 5 Earl Greys, 13 Decaf. Blacks, 13 rooibos, 20 herbals, 9 greens, 15 flavored greens, 7 white teas, 7 oolongs, 2 mates and 2 pu-ers. I've completed 14 tea seminars at the World Tea Expo with 4 more scheduled in May. I will also be taking the next level of tea certification through the Specialty Tea Institute. I believe that I have a good working knowledge of tea, but have so much more to learn about this incredible leaf. By the way, I do like Earl Grey but I love Oolongs, Japanese Green Teas and the occasional dessert teas that help me control my sweet tooth. Oolongs are my personal favorites. Moving into our new location will allow me to expand my selection, I've added in the last week 2 new Oolongs, 2 new green teas and 1 more decaf. black tea. My customers dictate the demand for what I carry and right now herbals and green teas are the most popular. I hope you'll give TranquiliTea a second chance. Look forward to seeing you soon. Variety: A wonderful tea shop, the best I've found in south eastern Michigan. And the new location is convenient and beautiful. |
