Tranquility Tea Room

The food and tea was delicious. The decor is very nice - they have transformed an ordinary office strip unit into a charming tea room - 2 dining areas each containing a large table and several smaller tables. Service was good - except for an odd delay in placing & serving our individual tea order (food was served before tea).
A negative is that a children's party was being held in the other room and the kids were running all over the place - repeatedly getting into the wardrobe behind our table and doing a scavenger hunt that involved them poking around all of the tables including ours..and making a lot of noise. Thankfully they left within a half hour of our arrival.
It would make more sense, and provide a MUCH more pleasant experience for adult diners seeking a pleasant 'tranquil' tea time, for children's parties to be confined to one room.

Love this charming teahouse! Especially the different themes they have each month. Each of the tables are beautifully decorated according to the theme and the kids loved the treasure hunt! Enjoyed having a selection of hats and accessories to choose from while we dined. Loved the selection of teas offered and the food was tasty. Loved those scones! We will definitely be back for the next theme!

Having arrived early, I enjoyed roaming through this quaint tea shop, finding its little treasures. It was blissfully peaceful inside. We were greeted with an initial pot of tea to try while we decided what we would like. Although I am not really a flavored tea fan, this chocolate fantasy with coconut and vanilla was delicious and ended up being our choice for the day. Sandwiches were very tasty, although the bread was a little dry (it might have just been that day!). They did have a very nice selection of teas, though. The caramel cream puff was delicious! The fare was fantastic for a very reasonable price, and I thoroughly enjoyed wearing a hat. I’m sure the events they have make everyone feel special. It was just a delightful afternoon for us and I recommend it for anyone wanting a special break.

I absolutely love this tea room. They are always so warm and welcoming. The teas have great flavor and they make the best Brie apple sandwiches.

What a lovely experience! The facility is Charming (with a capital 'C')& cozy, the service is more than friendly, the food is scrumptious, & the wide variety of teas are well presented. I thoroughly enjoy myself every time I go.

I have been going to this tearoom for a while now. I have NEVER been disappointed. The ambiance is lovely, Victorian, very 'femmy' the tea choices are varied, the food delicious, and the staff is sensational!

This was a delightful place and we were warmly greeted as soon as we stepped in. The selection of teas was adequate and before we had even made a selection, we were seated and treated to a sample of one of the owner's favourite teas. This was a thoughtful touch. The scones and sandwiches were also quite good, although one of sandwiches was rather dry. However, that was more than compensated by the other delicious offerings. Although the ambience is not comparable to the ritzier, (ie. pricier) more soothing surroundings you may find at other high tea places, it was quiet and peaceful and altogether very comfortable. It made our conversation very enjoyable. The level of service was attentive and we were happy with our experience overall.

Walking through the door, Tranquility transports you into an English parlor set for tea, hat included if you wish. The hours spent luxuriating in fruity teas and scones with lemon curd made on the premises feeds your fantasy of a wonderful afternoon. The tea sandwiches are as dainty and tasteful as the lady having them. Lovely for Mother's Day.

Superb. Absolutely superb. I went with my family and we sampled Chocolate Fantasy and Blushing Apricot teas and munched on chocolate chip scones. We ended up purchasing both teas because they were phenomenal. The ambience of the whole place is lovely. Sue, our lovely tea-bearer, was a delight to talk to - she was too kind. And the hat selection was amazing. I'd write more about the headwear - but I don't want to ruin the surprise!

I brought my mother here for her birthday and it was a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place for a fun afternoon of tea and decorative hats an lots of laughter. Excellent teas!

If you are looking for a a great Tea experience this is not for you! They have a theme every month which changes, we just wanted a lovely quiet Tea, There is no kitchen on site so the food is brought in, not a large array of of Teas either. Would be fine if we had children but we didn't. Hope you find your new location soon as this one doesn't really suit a Tea establishment

This is a lovely tea room, nice, quiet, with dainty and cute decor. The fresh flowers on the table was nice touch. Although I've seen more tea selection at other tea houses, the offerings were very nice. Other tea rooms presented an arrangement of teas for you to try different types of teas and to experience the aromas, this was not offered here, which would have been a nicer touch. I tried all 5 sandwiches, the quality varied. Some were delicious, others I didn't care for as the bread was on the dry side. The service however was superb, the owner very nice and welcoming. In all, my friend and I had a lovely time. I would recommend this tea room.

Came here for the first time with my mother for her birthday. What a perfect spot!!! The sandwiches were tasty, scones were delicious and the tea and ambiance were amazing!!! I highly recommend!

Went here for afternoon tea this weekend and had a terrific time. We attended princess themed tea and the decor was above and beyond what I expected. Every table had a different theme and was decorated with beautiful princess details. I was really happy that the theme had an adult feel to it rather than a little girl princess party. With that said, I was really impressed with what they had to offer for children. There was a closet full of costumes that the kids could wear. Very clever and fun.

All in all the experience was great. My only criticism would be about the food. The tea sandwiches were ok, but they werent great. a small price to pay for a great time

We all just finished tea at Tranquility Tea Room and it was absolutely fabulous! My friends and I were in the Los Angeles are for Spring Break and met with my friends mom for tea. They had both been before and highly recommended this location, I second their recommendation. The presentation and food were excellent and we all had quite a wonderful time!

Just returned from our experience at Tranquility Tea House. I took my mom for her birthday. We love finding tea houses and this is a hidden gem. The variety of teas was large. My mom had darjeerering, Margaret's Hope black tea and I had Rose Kissed Green Tea with a variety of lovely sandwiches and yummy scones w/chocolate chips, cream & curd. And the desserts were scumpcious! They even sang happy birthday & put a candle on it.
The presentation was beautiful as well as the whole tea room. They have themes every 3 months and also cater to children's parties. Attached are some pictures.

Loved this tea parlor so much! I'm visiting from Philadelphia, but I wish I could come here everyday! The tables are beautifully arranged and themed. The themes change throughout the year too! A little bit pricer than some that I've been to in the past, but the themes and overall effort into the overall vibe of the tea room make up for that for sure. The food was great and there was a nice variety of tea to choose from.

Absolutely wonderful! My daughter brought me to Tea for my birthday and we had a wonderful afternoon. The Chocolate Fantasy Tea and sandwiches, desserts were delicious. Sue, our hostess was fabulous.

Took my mom for her birthday and we both loved it! Sue, our hostess, was friendly and lovely to chat with. The atmosphere was classic and welcoming and the food was divine. We did the deluxe tea. We will definitely be returning for my birthday!

At the end of December my mom, three nieces (10, 8, 7) and myself went to the tea room to enjoy the decorations and some good food and tea. I found the tear room a couple of years ago and have loved it since! The owner and statt are amazing! Friendly and kind. They are willing to work with clients with their needs and wants. They customize the menu to fit client requests. I LOVE THIS! The tea is delicious and they always have one to try out as you sit down. The sandwiches are DELICIOUS! My mom likes to go simply for the sandwiches!!

My 8 year od niece wants to add that they have lots of costumes and hats for guests to try on and play with. They also have scavenger hunts for kids (or adults) to play. Every couple of months they change the theme of the tea room (Christmas, Princess... (more)es, Wizard of OZ, etc) and the decorations are amazing. The scavenger hunt goes along with the theme.

Bottom line - this is an amazing place! I also found out during my last visit that part of your purchase go to charity!!

Last Tuesday, Clare & I came down to enjoy the 'Peter Pan Tea Party'. Needless to say everything was impecable. The sandwiches were all on different breads, and the combinations were excellent. The scones were served straight from the oven and were prepared perfectly. The pastries topped off a great tea. The owner is trying to open another tea room in Ventura and we're excited about that as it will be 30 miles closer to home.

I went with my sisters for our traditional Christmas tea get-together. This was our first time here and we thought it was great. Pleasant atmosphere with fun themes, good tea, good food and a good time.

My mom and I have been here twice now. Last time we went was during the mad hatter tea party, which was so much fun. When we saw they were doing Wizard of Oz, we had to come back. The character themed tables are such a fun cute idea, and our waitress made sure to show us around so that we could see all the tables. The spiced peach tea was very yummy, and their caramel apple brie sandwich is so unique and delicious =) Their portions are dainty, but we still left feeling full after having the high tea.

Beautiful venue! Pleasant atmosphere! Highly recommend! Great for a girls' day out :)

I agree with Chris 09/04/12, we also were disappointed with all the high reviews we expected something better. The boa I was given to wear was dirty and smelt of cheap purfume, these should be cleaned after each use. Not the best food, we went to another restaurant after leaving as we were so hungry. Dont think we will return but the servicer and owner was nice

What a wonderful surprise! I was invited for tea for my granddaughters birthday and it was such a lovely place for little girls and big girls! The tea selection was fabulous as was the food. The service was great and we enjoyed the scavenger hunt too. I would definitely go again!

This tea room is fit for a princess. Hats galore and personality to fill the entire table this tea room was a true joy. The owners were both kind and sweet. The food was delicious with a wide range of teas. I would definitely go there again. Thanks my step daughter had a wonderfully teaful birthday!

I love this tearoom. The owner is wonderful and very creative. She changes the theme and decor, so you want to keep coming back to see what changes she has made. She is doing the Wizard of Oz now. Lots of teas to choose from and the food is yummy. She also has beautiful hats she has made to try on and have fun with.

Wonderful decor...every table was decorated with depictions of characters in the Wizard of Oz, including cups and teapots! We had 3 different teas: Spice Peach, Chocolate Fantasy and Vanilla Bean. All of them were great, but liked Chocolate Fantasy the best. The raisin chocolate scones were wonderful and I loved the cucumber sandwiches. Highly recommended.

This is a one of a kind wonderland of tea and scrumptious food. The atmosphere is just right and the exquisite detail given to each table is charming. One of my favorite places to relax and be with good friends.

I have been here three times now, and every tea has been delicious. Everything is neat, decor, real china tea pots, dainty nibbles. whimsical and pretty to the last detail - hats, Usually a reservation is required, but I decided to walk in this afternoon and the lovely owner took amazing care of me anyway. Substitutions are welcome which is gold for me as a vegetarian. Please give this adorable tea room a try!

I went here to celebrate my birthday and it was so beautiful! I loved the arrangement and the very nice lady who owned it was so sweet and cheerful. The arrangements on the tables were so beautiful. Overall it was very beautiful and the tea was delicious!

Came with my mother in law and had a lovely time. Really enjoyed the scones. Had the deluxe tea which was plenty of food. Pretty decorations and fun to take pictures with hats and boas. A great treat to enjoy with friends or family!

We came here for tea time with my daughter (6 years old). It was everything you could hope for. Wonderful tea, whimsical atmosphere, delicious food and Candra and Kevin were lovely. We are actually still here and my daughter is asking when we can come back. Absolutely charming.

I brought my 9 year old daughter for tea and she felt like a princess! Our hostess knew her name upon arrival and used it throughout tea to personalize the occasion. She loved trying on and dressing up in their wide variety of hats and gloves. They even had trivia at each table for that months theme, 'Alice in Wonderland'. Tranquility is elegant yet fun enough for even the youngest tea drinkers! They had a chocolate tea that my daughter truly could not get enough of! I will definitely be going back to take me other 2 daughters!

My mother and I started going to Tranquility Tea Room years ago, and it has become a very special place for us. The atmosphere is peaceful, the decor is lovely, and the food and teas are wonderful. I'm always amazed at the variety of teas offered. It's the perfect place for us to spend some quality time together, and we enjoy taking family and friends there as well.

I have gone to the Tranquility Tea Room several times. Overall, it has always been a very great experience. There are a few pros and cons.

The Pros: The tea room is just gorgeous and all the themes are so fun. My daughters love the decor of each table, as well as the entertaining scavenger hunts, and cute stuff to dress up in. There are hats and boas galore! The food tastes excellent! The scones are always yummy and the sandwiches are very tasty with a nice variety. Even the tranquility salad is delicious! My girls normally hate salad, but they liked this one! The service is wonderful. Sue and Candra are attentive to our every need and are very sweet. The tea and food are presented in a beautiful way. There are fresh flowers on the table and the china is lovely.
... (more)> The Cons: The variety of teas could be better. I have been to other tea houses where they have 3 times as many teas to choose from. The Tranquility Tea Room has a couple that I like, but generally I think they should expand their tea list. The food is very tasty, but the servings are tiny. TINY! I normally have to order several more sandwiches to compensate for this, as well as quiche or some salad. They do not offer hot appetizers (which many tea rooms do). It is hard to make a meal out of this without ordering lots of extras. Lastly, it is quite pricey for what you get in return. It is quite expensive after I have added in extra sandwiches and salad, so that my girls and I would not leave hungry. Do not go here expecting a filling lunch or dinner, even if you order the Deluxe Tea.

Overall, it is a beautiful tea room and I will keep going there. We always have a lot of fun. However, I would go a LOT MORE if the prices were lower and the portions were bigger.

Decided to go to this tea house due to the high reviews. Very disappointed. Tiny servings of food, although the sandwiches were delicious. The pita was the worst, cold and gross. The teas divine. The scone average and not flaky. Had to stop by another restaurant to eat. Service was good.

Absolutely wonderful! I had tea with two others and had a splendid time. There was an excellent variety of tea and we got to sample the specialty tea. The food was delicious and the desserts were to-die-for. We had a lot of fun trying on the different hats and sampling eah others teas. The Mad Hatter Tea Party theme was lovely but not kitsch-y. We will definitely return!

Chocolate, almond roca, roibose and more! The tea varieties were numerous and yummy sounding. Although I didn't get a chance to try them all, I will return. The food was wonderful and the room was decked out in true Mad Hatter style, the current theme. Loads of fun.

The Tranquility Tea House is wonderful. It was quaintly decorated in a whimsical 'Alice in Wonderland' theme with each table based on a character such as the Red Queen or White rabbit. We each wore a favorite hat and felt like a Queen being served by very kind and friendly staff. The tea and finger sandwiches were delicious to our delight. We had such fun and will definitely return many more times.

Tranquility by far is one of the best tea house I've been to! As soon as you enter the wonderful place, you're transported to an enchanting place. The decor is truly a feast for the eyes. The tea, scones, sandwiches are quite delicious and the fresh flowers are a nice touch! I feel pampered and relaxed whenever I come here. Sarah was very attentive and made us feel very welcomed! Tranquility Tea Room is a true delight. The decor is so beautiful and old Victorian. My 6 friends and I all enjoyed selecting a hat and boa to wear during tea. Sue is so nice and makes you feel welcome the second you step through the door.The food was delicious, I really enjoyed the Chicken-Almond salad on potato bread.I am from England and this tea room made me feel like I was in a tea room at home. It was my 4th time and I will definitely be back again.

I absolutely adore Tranquility Tea Room! I have been to this establishment quite a few times and each encounter is so enjoyable. The staff is so friendly, inviting and warm. I feel so relaxed whenever I stop by and the petit sandwiches are crafted so well. I cannot give enough praise for this place :)

My daughter and I have a tradition of going to tea once or twice a year. This was our first visit to Tranquility Tea Room and we had such a lovely time. The outside of the building is nondescript, but stepping inside transports you to another place. Lovely setting, fun hats, delicious food and tea, and friendly service-- this place has it all. we look forward to returning soon.

Fun hats and costumes kept my 6 yr. old interested, tea(mango coconut and red velvet) was perfect, sandwiches delicious, especially liked the cream puff, fun alice in wonderland theme, great service, lovely space, excellent experience!

I had an amazing experience at Tranquility Tea Room. The Chocolate Fantasy tea is THE BEST tea that I have ever had in my entire life. We enjoyed Sue's company a lot as well. She was very knowledgable, caring, and such a sweet person to spend our tea time with. I would recommend Tranquility Tea Room to many of my family and friends.

What a beautiful afternoon at Tranquility Tea Room! From the moment we walked in, it was a lovely day for tea -- the decor displayed attention to detail, each table decorated uniquely, (including quotes from 'Alice in Wonderland', to coincide with the current Mad Hatter Tea Party theme) Delicious scones (moist and flavorful); tea sandwiches were exceptional -- from sweet to savory; and desserts: o my goodness such a decadent chocolate truffle! The tea was ideal...This was a memorable afternoon -- including the delightful hostess, and sharing of the STORY of Tranquility Tea Room! Already looking forward to the holidays for making another memory with a friend (or friends!)

My neighbor and I enjoyed a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. We selected our own hats, feather boas and tableservice. It was a girls' dream tea party. The food and service are both excellent and the two rooms are fixed to look like a fairy tale. It was a delightful experience. We have both enjoyed this tea room a few times and it never disappoints.

My girlfriend Laura and I were just there this afternoon and had a really wonderful time. The owner did a fabulous job decorating the place with an Alice in Wonderland theme. There were beautiful hats, boa feathers and gloves that we had fun trying on. Felt like a littl girl playing dress up. The owner so graciously allowed us to try on everything! Oh, and more importantly, the tea and sandwiches were wonderful! Best scones I have EVER had!!! Wish it were closer to me, but I think it's worth the drive. This is a fun place for girls of all ages - from seven to seventy!!!!

Clare & I took a short mini-break to Thousand Oaks to visit the Tranquility Tea Room. While it's over a 100 miles one way, it was worth the trip. Sarah (server) met us at the door and gave us our choice of tables. Candra (owner) greeted us and between the two, they provided us with an excellent deluxe tea. The sandwiches, scones and desserts were excellent. Since we primarily drink a strong black tea (Typhoo) they were gracious enough to use our tea bags. The onle problem I encountered was the six entry steps (steep). Candra told us she is seeking s location in Ventura that will accomodate handicapped and will be closer to us. Highly recommend this tea room.
