Variety: Expensive at $35.00 each. One choice of tea, by the cup not the pot. Service is horrible, one server for two rooms. Requires payment in advance and then just after your tea, you will be handed a bill for the tax (which should have been included in the pre-payment),Very tacky. Chris is very creative and the place is beautiful but ALL about the what we did.....I will not be back. |

Variety: I'm not sure where to start. This is my 4th time here and every time it is like my first. Awesome in every way. Chris is the greatest hostess you will every want to meet. The homemade food is sinfully good. The charm of the inside and outside of the house is beautifully done. The mystery tea on Sunday was the best time I have had in awhile. Thank you so much Chris for being so creative. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, A+ to infinity |

Variety: My friends and I attended the Haunted Halloween Tea. First, we were impressed with the charm and beauty of the house. We were quickly greeted by the owner, Chris, dressed in costume as a pretty princess. We were given name tags and led into the home. The inside is just as charming as the outside. We were given first round of clues. Next, we were served a fall menu of food, all homemade and tasty. There was another round of clues and next a murder. We all tried solving it and last round, which was the reveal. This was so fun and organized! Fabulous time. Another note, I really liked how I could have as much tea as I wanted to drink and was given different teas with our courses of food. In one word, I describe this tea room as- charming! |

Variety: I have always wanted to buy an older home and fix it up. If I would I would like it to look like Victorene's. The owners have done a Wonderful job of restoring the 1860's farm house. The food was perfectly prepared and service was so quick and friendly. Our party raved over the Irish Potato soup with bacon and cheedar cheese. A++++ |

Variety: Victorene's is fabulous. If you are a fan of the Bed and Breakfast, you will adore this tearoom. The house is incredible, loved the food, and they keep coming around and giving you tea. I was so impressed that we were offered as much tea as we wanted and not just given a teapot. The owner was so sweet and we felt like family. I would go again . Victorene's is fabulous! |

Variety: I have been to Victorene's several times and can say I have had wonderful food, service, tea, and atmosphere. The food was delicious and sweet potato soup simply incredible! We loved the antique china, classic Victorian farm house. It is special indeed. The owner is very friendly and sweet and it is clear that Chris loves what she does by her attention to every detail. In one word-charming!! |

Variety: I had a marvelous time at Victorene's Garden Tea. I enjoyed learning about the roses, plants and shrubs planted there and the property is breath-taking. The food perfect in taste and presentation, the decor of house just magical. The tea a blackberry sage was brewed to perfection! I recommend it and will indeed go back as the host events of all sorts throughout the seasons. We already reserved for Christmas! |

Variety: Because I got too busy to plan properly, I was in the market for a tea party for my mother's 80th birthday at the last minute. A google search revealed that Victorene's was the only place in the region with an opening the day I needed it. What a perfect fit it turned out to be. She had favors, games, a written program and menus. These are all things I would have done on my own, but did not have time to do so, and she had it as part of her regular offering. To top it off, she is located in a small town in the Pittsburgh region where Mom spent some of her youth, and some relatives attended who were part of that period in her life. It was very serendipitous to find Victorene's. The day could not have gone smoother; the event itself ran well, the tea, sandwiches and desserts were excelle... (more) |

Variety: Victorene's is charming, special, and perfect in every way a tearoom could ever be perfect. You could never be disappointed there, it is incredible. The food is all homemade and yummy. They wait on you hand and foot and do treat you like family. |

Variety: There is only one word 'disappointed'. That's how I felt after the $30.00 Mother's Day Tea at Victorene's. The tea preparation was a box of everyday Lipton, the scones were so dry, i choked and the service, we sat down at 1 and didn't get any food until 2:10. Victorene needs to go to a few Tea's and see how to serve a proper Tea. I must say her home is lovely, a wonderful place to have a Tea. |

Tearoom Response
Luvada,I must say, I am so sorry you were unhappy here. Wow, I have never had a review of this sort, and it makes me so sad. :( In answering your comments: 1. I only serve loose leaf fresh brewed tea here of gourmet quality, so not sure why you felt it was Lipton. If unhappy about tea, I wish you had asked for another one and I would have been most happy to accommodate. 2. The particular scone you were served was a creamed filled scone with even more cream on top and fresh strawberries. I am very confused at how this scone in particular could have been dry. Again, if you were unhappy, why did you not ask me for a replacement? My scones normally get me the most compliments. 3. Our teas always include a program that last ½ hour. Our programs change every month but can include a reading from a classic novel, a trivia game at times, or even may include a garden tour in the summer or a house tour during Christmas. The program again only lasts ½ hour and then the 1st course is served directly afterwards. Our guest’s love the program as it adds to the whole tea experience and normally again only takes ½ hour. Again, I wish you to know that I am very sad about your review. I love my business and adore all the wonderful people I get the pleasure of meeting and I take such pride in a enchanting tea experience here. -Chris A. Cole Owner of Victorene's Tea |

Variety: Victorene's in one word- unique. This tearoom in located within a historic landmark. The presentation was perfect, floral linens, fresh flowers, pretty china and silver. Food tasted as good as it looked and was a nice variety & quantity. We were treated as though the owner had always known us and felt so special. I do not think another tearoom could compare to this one. |

Variety: I adore older homes and this home is incredible in every way. I kept asking if I could just move in! Food was wonderful, homemade and delish and we even bought the owners cookbook to take home and try and recreate her wonderful dishes ourselves. The presentation of the food and table displays were breath-taking. We just loved every moment of our visit. I give this tea room 4 stars! |

Roberta, Just like you, I also adore older homes and that is one of the many reasons I love hosting teas here at Victorene's. It gives me the ability to share this old Victorian with you! Please do come again and thank you greatly for your review. |

Variety: I brought my mother to the Mother's Day tea event. It was spectacular! I stumbled on Victorene's in a web search, and this was my first visit. The Victorian house was immaculate, and lovingly restored. Chris was an excellent hostess, and very graciously accomodated a last minute joiner to our party, even though she already had a full house. A traditional loose leaf black tea was served, and was delicious. The food served was amazing in both taste and presentation. The price of this event was. $30/person, and all of the five guests in our party left very satisfied and with a great memory. This experience was worth every penny! We will definitely be back : ) |

Variety: I have visited the tea room in the past (for a covered bridge tea) and I also agree with Vicki's 3/15/11 review. The food was excellent but the portions were very small for the price.I treated a friend for her birthday and with tip I spent well over 60.00.If you are looking for ambiance and historical value you have found it but you will pay the price. |

Tearoom Response
Dear tea lover,I would address you by your name, but you did not include it in your review. As I mentioned to Vicki, we are not a cafe. I am a restored Victorian home that hosts teas once or twice a month. All of our food is homemade and gourmet and all of our teas also include a program of some sort-a reading, a game, or even a tour. The price is just not for the luncheon, it is also for the program. So, it is not a typical tea room where you come into a business atmosphere and sit at tables with plastic tablecloths and paper napkins and order off a menu. In that case, you are getting what you a paying for and is not what we can offer here as we are a home not a café. However, the menu at Victorene’s is large and very filling and we normally have most guests requesting take home containers. Our next menu is: Spring Mix Berry Salad topped with our famous Berry Vinaigrette Blackberry Tea Sandwich Turkey & Basil Sandwich Cream Filled Strawberry Scones Double Chocolate Brownies Sugared Grapes Iced Pink Fizz lemonade Fresh brewed loose gourmet tea I would say that is a huge portion size and we do not serve small portions, quite the opposite. Our menu is well worth the money and I know this as I compare myself to other tearooms all the time. Again, it is hard to compare as most are set in a café and not in a home and most do not include a program. I pride myself in my business and it is very rare for me to get any negative comment, so perhaps, I need to realize that even if we aim to be the very best, we are just not always going to please everyone. |

Variety: Victorene's was a most relaxing and beautiful place, how lucky I am to have found this treasured tea room. I traveled over an hour and after tea did some shopping at the antique shops in Mon City, only a 2 minute drive to Main St. Shops. This surpasses any tea room I have ever visited, and the food is all homemade and gourmet. The home built in the 1860's is lovely and restored to perfection. Take a moment to enjoy the wrap around porch, you won't be sorry. I give it 4 stars! |

Variety: We had another outstanding visit to Victorene's for the Mardi Gras Tea. My review will not do it justice, but loved the never-ending tea of black berry sage. I drank more tea than ever and feel it was due ribeye fresh brewed full leaf way they brew it at Victorene's. The food was delicious and arranged beautifully on a three tier stand. We started with the best potato soup I've ever tasted. I enjoyed mask contest and trivia game, felt it just added to the Mardi Gras theme. Chris makes you feel like a friend, not a customer. I say treat yourself and go to Victorene's. |

Variety: Mardi Gras Tea was wonderful, food was gourmet, prepared beautifully, and plentiful. Our group enjoyed the addition of soup and fresh fruit included. We are looking forward to attending another event and are impressed with the fun themes and Victorian atmosphere of the restored home. Not another tea room like this one in our area. |

Tearoom Response
Vicki,I respect your review. I must say, you are the only person in 6 years of business to say they walked away hungry. Normally, we get the total opposite response. What group were you here with, what day? My menu was: Blackberry Sage tea Creole Shrimp Potato Soup Mini Cheese Quiche Cajun Chicken Croissant & Cucumber Slaw White Chocolate Scone with Crème & Preserves Green Sugared Grapes Mardi Gras King Cakes Assorted Chocolates The cost is also for the atmosphere and theme, we are not a cafe, we are a historical home. Again, thank you for attending, and am sorry you felt hungry, but I think the amount of food served here is large compared to most tearooms. |
|
Variety: My red hat group attended Victorene's Mardi Gras Tea Party on March 13. As usual Chris and her team did their best to make you feel at home. The food was a feast for the eyes and the palate. The house is lovely both inside and out. All my ladies had a wonderful time and are looking forward to going back--either as a group or with their daughters and granddaughters. I highly recommend Chris's teas, they are something special. |
