Have been here several times before with friends and the experience was average, but was offset by good food. The last time the experience was poor. When asked for my tea selection, I was told sharply that I had to select one of the other chocolates because they were out of the chocolate mint that I wanted. They only have current scones and those were dry this time. There were two in the party this time and we each ordered hot tea. Only one received a tea warmer. When asked for another, they said 'don't expect this again'. We were told there was usually only one per table and if busy they wouldn't have given the second warmer. When paying I had to ask several times for go-boxes and cups. Then waited for the staff to finish their conversation so I could pay. The gift selection was always limited, but seemed very sparse. Less than pleasant experience.

We took our two grand daughters, 8 and 10, today to have them experience a fancy lady-type lunch. The food was good but we had to inquire if there was a kids menue. The girls were trying on some hats and taking pictures when the owner/manager said out loudly that those hats were in the 'gift shop' area and they need to stop playing with them and if they got anything on them he was going to add the pcost to our ticket. How in the world anyone could tell that was the 'gift shop' area is a wonder to me; nothing would indicate it as such. The waitress was barely polite, service was OK at best and we were glad to leave as soon as possible. It was very uncomfortable as were the chairs as well.
