By April of 2010, Waukesha's SpringHouse TeaRoom has held 118 distinctive personalized tea events or tea parties. Participants are treated to a two hour slow paced tea. During the Tea, we serve 4 or more different teas from our stock of over 120 teas. We serve 3 or four different home-made signature recipe scones, always fresh from the oven. We've created some special flavored butters for the warm scones, in 2010, we have an orange cardamon, cranberry butter and a papaya pecan that our geusts rave about. Then we let the scones settle and prepare three different finger sandwiches, respecting history and fresh flavors. We follow that with warm savories and fruit. Closing the event, we have fresh sweets again from our own recipes. We have learned that there is a real interest in tea, so we usually spend a little time shwoing appreciation for the drink and it's origins. Come to TEA!
We also teach TEA CLASSES for the extention service at the University of Wisconsin - Waukesha. We offer three classes for fall and spring semesters. Contact UW-W for more detail!

Variety: Going to tea here was excellent! The teas served were diverse, each was well explained, and the food accompanying the teas were delicious as well. Highly recommend! |

Variety: My husband took me to the Steaming Cup (which is connected to the Springhouse Tea Room) on a date when we were visiting family in the Waukesha area. We often visit coffee houses where ever we are, but he knows my love of tea and wanted to take me to a tea house, something we had not had much opportunity to do previously. As I said I was not familiar with many teas, Kerry went through a tasting with us, introducing us to a variety of teas similar to the one I mentioned liking best. He helped me and my husband understand more about the teas and their qualities - and then brewed me a wonderful cup of one of my favorite choices. What struck me most about my visit was the absolute love of tea that Kerry has - and shares with all who come in his shop. It is a passion, not just a business. ... (more) |
