Variety: This place is closed but wasn't even polite enough to update their website OR voicemail with that information. Drove a half hour to get there today with my daughter to have to disappoint her because it no longer exists. Obviously, don't bother. |

Variety: In reading over all the comments expressed I find it amusing and incredulous that the responses could be so extreme and the effort to address the negative ones are the same. It would seem to me that if the complaints are the same, that it would behoove the owner to make the changes so that the areas of concern wouldn't happen again. I find it difficult to understand how one person can say everything was delicious and another say the scones are hard and the bread dry. Somehow there is a disconnect somewhere. Did I come at the wrong time?!! I did visit the tea room. Yes, the service is very warm, congenial but the food came out very slow. It may be that you want to encourage conversation? But some people do need to get to places. The scones were 50/50. One was really soft and flaky, ... (more) |

Variety: This has become one of my new favorite hangouts! The food just keeps getting better and better (LOVE the maple scones) and the swirly colored bread is so cute I took a picture of it with my camera phone and sent it to a friend. Another girlfriend says she intends to visit here once a week because it makes her feel like she's 'on vacatio from her life'. Thanks to the owner and wonderful servers for always making me and whomever I bring feel so special and whimsical! |

Variety: In response to the ‘Tearoom Response’ to Joyce & Family, I hesitated to write anything because you (I presume I’m talking to the hostess) seemed like a nice, pleasant lady. The first few words of your response say that you are sorry, but every word after that is finger pointing and excuses. In fact, the only reason I’m writing is because of your insulting response. I’ve never left a bad review; I’ve always chalked it up to “everyone’s entitled to a bad day.” My very active 2 & 5 year olds don’t lose their appetite over a late afternoon train ride, in fact, just the opposite. Although they did drink their lemonade and chocolate milk, don’t presume to think they ate their scones – they would not eat them. And, if my kids were picky about food, we wouldn’t have come. About the hard... (more) |

Variety: There are just too many other tea places around to waste my time at this place. I could not believe that the bread was so hard and the scones looked like a flat cookie that did not turn out right. I could not believe that they stuffed a salad into a teacup which turned out to be a cup full of oil with very little lettuce. Too bad, I will never return back to this place. |

Tearoom Response
Dear Aangelina,Your comments are appreciated and I would like to respond to some of your concerns. Our bread is obtained from a bakery so that it does not have preservatives in it such as the bread you buy at the market. That it was hard may be that it rested on your tea table a time while you and your friends visited. Our Lady Whimsy tea is served with a cup of soup or salad, tea sandwiches and fruit garnish. Normally we add the dressing to the salad, however, at your request we did not dress any of your salads, instead serving the dressng in a separate server for you to add as you liked. We enjoyed serving you and your friends for the birthday tea and were delighted that you had a good time and felt comfortable to relax with us for 2 1/2 hours. We would like to invite you and your friends back for our Enchanting Tea on us. Tea should be a memorable experience and we would like to create a pleasant memory for you. Carol Klink Tea Hostess |

Variety: My friend and I visited this tearoom and were very disappointed. I read some of the other reviews and I have to agree with the other patrons who found their experience to be lacking. While the hostess (owner?) was pleasant, service was VERY slow. It took at least 15 min. for us to even get our tea after we had ordered it and we were the ONLY table in the place. The food was also just so sad. I read the tearooms response of how they get their desserts from another bakery. Maybe I'm just spoiled from my favorite teahouse but shouldn't they be MAKING their own food??? To me tea is a luxurious experience and I'd like to eat treats prepared by someone who knows what they're doing. I will definately stick with my favorite place by the mall in Brea. I really feel badly that this little place doesn't have much to offer. Even the trek to the bathroom was a very unappealing experience. Maybe one day they'll get it down, but I don't think I'll make effort to find out. |

Tearoom Response
Dear Crystal,Unfortunately I do not recall when you and your friend visited unless it was some time back. Never the less thank you for your comments. Please allow me to address them. Not knowing what yourordered it is hard to understand that it would take 15 minutes to serve you tea unless you ordered from one of our tea menu selections in which we serve the tea first and scones and trimmings second. I can certainly understand your appreciation of your favorite place for tea which is a Bistro and Patisserie well known for their desserts. They call them selves a restaurant that serves afternoon tea. Very few tea rooms make their own dessert not compare apples to oranges. Our bathroom, which we share with another business, is wheelchair accessible and clean. I do agree with you that tea should be a luxurious experience and am sorry that is not what you experienced. We have taken your comments to heart and would like to invite you and your friend back for tea on us. Carol Klink Tea Hostess |

Variety: I don't understand - based on the reviews here, I spent good money to bring my daughter and grand-daughters here for a birthday tea. I cried when I got home. I was so embarrassed. It looked cute, and the hats were fun, but we couldn't believe the food. The girls would not eat the sandwiches because the bread was so hard. There was an attempt to make them into hearts, but the bread crumbled at the corner and curves. The peanut butter was spread so thin that we could see the bread through it. My daughter and I ate the toppings off of our sandwiches but the girls didn't eat anything. We had to write down our credit card number and leave it to be ran later because there was no credit card machine - that was very uncomfortable. After paying the $54.00 plus tip, we had a miserable ride home bec... (more) |

Tearoom Response
Dear Joyce & family,I am so sorry you tea experience did not meet your expectations. Your granddaughters were so well behaved and delightful! Tea late in the afternoon after a train ride can be a little tiring and may zap a 2 yr old and 5 yr olds appetite. Especially after 1st drinking chocolate milk, lemonade and eating a scone with trimmings. That you found our bread to be hard may be because it is bakery bread, made with no preservatives opposed to store bought bread that will last for weeks. On the credit card issue, every business that accepts credit cards keeps a copy of the credit card receipt that has the account number and expiration date on it for their records. Running your card later has not been a problem for our numerous credit card paying customers and I'm sorry you were uncomfortable. We just recently brought a piano into the tea room but plan to use it for special events. In lieu of not providing live music we have from the beginning and will continue to play background music on the CD player. My error on not offerifng you a tea for tasting. I understand your feeling so harshly regarding your experience, however, we would like to invite you back to have tea on us. We do care about our customers and want to provide as special an experience as possible. |

Variety: This tearoom is great. Plesant ambience. Food is excellent. Fresh and tasty. Lots of flavors that blended together well. The scone was moist, not dry, no problem there. The tea was aromatic and hit the spot. Carol is wonderful. Visit this one for sure. |

Variety: I took my daughter and a friend for her 5th birthday. They had a great time and everything was delicious. It was odd walking through the store to get there, but other than that, we had a wonderful time. |

Variety: My friend and I wound up at this tea house by accident - the one we planned to go to was closed. What a fortunate occurence! The tea was delicious (you MUST try the huckleberry). The shop was tiny, but very cute. And the service was great. We sat and talked for 3 hours and continued to get personal attention all the way to the end. We will definitely be back. |

Variety: My best friend, 4 year old daughter and I just had a lovely tea at this charming little tea room. It was my first trip to a restaurant like this, and none of us were disappointed. The shop itself is quaint in the best sense of the term, with a lovely whimsy shown in the wall decorations and general decor. It was the little touches that were the most fun, like the jewels on the dainty little tea spoons. My little girl was thrilled to pick out her own hat and boa to wear while at our tea party, and was even more delighted with her lovely little teacup and tea service. The Mother Goose teapot for her chocolate milk was absolutely darling. Equally darling is the owner, Miss Carol. She was wonderfully attentive, even though the shop was busy when we came in. She actually spe... (more) |

Variety: Our hostess was very sweet and the establishment although cute was a bit small, but fine. Our bagged tea was lacking in taste, our scones were not fresh and uncooked in the middle. Our tea sandwiches were at least day old, and oddly prepared. Our desert was a leftover from christmas and not very good. |

Tearoom Response
Dear Irene,Thank you for your feedback! It is important to receive reviews form our guests as we are continually striving to provide a memorable event. We apologize that you did not have a positive experience at Whimsical Teas. Please allow us to address your concerns. Our tea is prepared from fresh loose leaves and steeped in a tea sac which is removed before serving. Scones our baked daily, however, we have been experiencing a problem with our new oven and have adjusted it. Tea sandwiches are also prepared fresh daily and we are not clear on what you mean by oddly pepared. Dessert is delivered daily by a local bakery and we will check more carefully for freshness. We endeavor to serve refreshing teas and a savoury menu, therefore, we would like to invite yourself and a guest back for an Enchanting Tea on us. Again, thank you for taking the time to write and we hope to serve you again. Sincerely, Carol A. Klink, Tea Hostess |

Variety: We have been all over Southern California experiencing tea rooms and were looking forward to this one after reading the reviews. The service was wonderful and the owner very sweet and welcoming. The food, however, was disappointing. Of the three of us, two had burnt scones and the other had scones that were uncooked in the middle. The combination of sandwiches was interesting. The egg salad was great but the pink pineapple sandwich was strange. We probably won't be back but maybe it was just a tough day at Whimsical Tea. |

Variety: I don't know the last time I felt so special and welcome. Carol makes you feel like a favorite member of the family and boy oh boy does she have some incredible holiday tea service ware. The 'whimsical' bread is not to be missed. Always a treat |
