Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the fire in our Pub-style tearoom. Located in the historic Cloyd Cabin (circa 1783) in scenic Botetourt County, you will find our tearoom to be a place where you can simply unwind and refresh yourself. Whether you are perusing the daily paper, browsing our ecclectic and appointed gift shop, or relishing time with friends, you will find that the only dilemma you face is choosing which tea to try next!

We offer a simple, but fabulous menu including freshly baked Organic Bagels and hot Bagel Sandwiches with gourmet organic cream cheeses. (Choose from such bagels as Spinach & Roasted Garlic, Sundried Tomato & Herb, Apple-Cranberry, and more.) New to the menu are our 'Paesano' chicken salads: Choose a Baked Spinach-Artichoke Chicken Salad with parmesan cheese stuffed in a bread bowl, or our Cranberry-Almondine Chicken Salad with toasted pecans. Or satisfy your sweet tooth with one of our delectable scones baked fresh daily in our Tavern.

I came to the Tavern with my daughter for Mother's Day and it was fab! We enjoyed our visit and the atmosphere was wonderful. Very good food and tea choices. I would recommend the tavern based upon this visit. In fact I have already made reservations for this Saturday so my Mother and I can enjoy some time together. Parking is the only concern but with limited acreage = limited space.

I discovered White Oak Tea Tavern a year ago and have been several times since. I have to drive over an hour to get there, but have taken the advise on the website to make reservations and have always been served. The food is good and the tea is great! My husband even likes it. I am going tomorrow and have a list of tea to purchase from friends who I have introduced to the place but can't go this time. I recommend it!

We had visited this charming tea room several times in past years, always enjoying the limited but excellent menu items, and absolutely loving the tea! Great selection of teas for purchase. Our last visit (Dec. '14) had us waiting for over 2 hrs at a table for service (we had reservations), and we left 4 hrs later--satisfied with the food and tea purchases, but vowing never to return. (We had driven over an hour to get there, and kept thinking that surely we'd be served something eventually. Should have left.) Friends had a comparable disappointment, and nearly as long a wait, several months later. If you're in the area, stop by to purchase tea or charming gifts from the storefront. do NOT spend time or money on food, with or without reservations.

Absolutely loved this place. Adorable and the best chicken salad I have ever eaten. I was traveling and stopped out of curiosity. I ordered my food to go and the staff was wonderfully accommodating. My only suggestion? Coffee! I am not a tea drinker but love a great cup of coffee.

Like another reviewer I also drove more than an hour to get here only to be turned away for not having a reservation. Top that with not being able to park near the building and poor signage as to where to park in the overflow and it took us about 10 minutes to get to the front door from our car. My wife is handicapped and getting her near the door was difficult. You need signs in the overflow as to where to park. I was concerned about being towed from the construction company lot in the back. Nowhere on your website does it indicate that a reservation is needed. Why not avoid conflict and losing customers and be courteous enough to post this information. I wouldn't have expected this much activity at a gift shop/tea house of all places. You could have warned us. The other issue is hours. A... (more)

I arrived at 3:25 to eat some lunch. I was by myself so only 1 person to serve but I was told the oven had been turned off and the owner who I was speaking with HAD to leave at 4. On the website the hours are from 10:30 - 4. I have never been to a place that stops serving 30 min before they close (especially since most of their food is already prepared).

I drove almost 1 hour to have lunch, only to find out they would not take a table of 2 because we did not have a reservation. Nowhere on the menu does it say to make reservations. Cute shop and very busy.
