I went thru looking at tea rooms and you were hit hard with some bad reviews. Suggestion, always charge customers what you have listed on your menu (Business 101), never charge any higher. So keep menus current and that will avoid that complaint. Remember, you can't please everyone and keep you head up. Focus on the positive one and not that negative ones. Do learn from the negative ones and always improve.

You have a wonderful tea room and keep doing what you do. I have vistied mulitple time and never had a bad experience.

What an amazing choice for our daughter's 5 year old birthday tea party.... they were treated like the little ladies that they are, and the food and tea we as Moms were served was delicious....
We'll be back for sure!

My experiance with 'With Flair' tearoom was excellent. I have been there many times before and had an equally enjoyable time. My daughter had a little girls tea party and they handled the little kids very nicely with lemonade in miniature teapots and cups, jelly sandwiches, cheese sandwiches, and teapot shaped butter cookies. SO CUTE! Everyone had a great time and the mothers had equally delicious pastries, sandwiches, etc. They had a HUGE selection of teas, and every one we tried were excellent. So all around it was a delightful experiance. Thanks With Flair!!

With Flair hosted the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding in July. The setting was beautiful, the food delicious and the service very friendly and competent. Mrs. Fogle was helpful in recommending a menu. Following the dinner, some members of the wedding party purchased a tea cup and saucer as a memento of the evening from the many cups and saucers for sale at With Flair. The evening was a wonderful success. Thanks With Flair!

I first visited this tea room when a friend treated me to lunch. I had a lovely experience and was delighted to find such a great place right here in Chesapeake! I was so impressed that I have since brought my mother, my husband, and several friends and co-workers. My friends and I have always had a wonderful experience. The food is delicious (I love the Virginia ham on yeast rolls and the crabcake). The desserts are DIVINE (Just try them all)! I also love the huge assortment of teas that With Flair has. The pumpkin spice and the gogi berry green teas are SO good! I have come here many times after a bad day, and the atmosphere is so pretty and relaxing that I always leave feeling rejuvenated and recharged. All of the servers are really nice too. They pour your tea for you and give such personal service. I love this place and will be a customer for life! I highly recommend having lunch on the porch when the weather is nice.

I really enjoyed having tea at the With Flair Tea Room. I have visited twice, once with my nanny, and a second time for my bridal shower. The experiences were totally different, the privacy for the bridal shower made for a lot of fun, but the intimacy of a two person tea was awesome as well. It was so much fun both times! We had no problems with price changes, or delayed service. The only problem we DID have was visiting once and being told they were too booked... but we hadn't made a reservation, so no one can be blamed but ourselves. It was exceptionally charming. The chicken salad was so delicious I have been craving the stuff ever since. It was a little uncomfortable for me being the center of attention at the shower, but soon I was trying all the teas and having a blast. I loved the Chocolate Hazelnut tea so much I ended up buying a full box of it. It was all fantastic.

Please call us at 436-7077, and we would be happy to add you to our registry so that you will never have to be turned away. Have a wonderful day, and we hope to hear from you!

I am the Director of The Virginia Tea Society. Our group visited the With Flair Tea Room on Saturday, June 21, 2008. Our reservations were for 1:00 and had been placed several months ago. We arrived at 12:45 assuming that we would have time to set up for our meeting/tea. When we arrived the tea room was completely full of other parties. We waited on the front porch of the tearoom, outside in the heat, we finally decided to hold our meeting there since we had no idea when we would have access to our room. We were offered ice water but it was never served. When The bridal shower attendees came out they said they had no idea that there was another party waiting. After waiting approximately forty minutes, we were told that we could have access to our room. They offered two kinds of fruit teas ... (more)
- AJL 09/02/08

Tearoom Response
Dear AJL,
I wanted to apologize to you for any inconvenience that your group experienced the day that you visited my tea room. When I read your review, I was grieved, because in all of my years of catering I have never had quite the delicate situation, in addition to several unique challenges, that occurred that specific day. I would like to make you aware of a few things, not to make excuses, but to let you know a little of what was going on behind the scenes as a day in the life of a small business owner. The bride from the bridal shower before your party had lost her mother unexpectedly, and so her friends rallied in support and spent time at the shower showing their love and respect for her and her mother. Understandably, even though they were aware that there was another party, the bridal shower ran over. This created a bit of a challenge as your group couldn't get into their room, and we had to try to get the room torn down and reset. This, in addition to complications from the extremely hot weather that day, and the vast number of other guests in the restaurant, made for a challenging situation for our already stressed servers. A few things fell through the cracks. I can say with absolute certainty that you were not served any leftovers from the previous group. We always make our food fresh that very same morning. You were served real English clotted cream, but that day the air conditioning in our older house suddenly decided to stop working properly, and so the clotted cream and the desserts that we set on the trays had softened a bit and some of the sandwiches dried out. You were not overcharged in any way. All prices were discussed ahead of time with the person who made your reservation. Our menus were simply in the process of being updated after a recent price increase. Overall, I am very sorry that you didn't have a good experience. My goal is to bless others and serve them my unique expression of a Royal Tea with flourish and with flair so that they leave relaxed and uplifted. The experience that you had that day, though terrible, is not a good representation of who we are and the great job that we consistently do on a regular basis. I am confident that if you were to return to experience our Royal Tea the way it is intended, that you would be very pleased and satisfied.

Sincerely,
Pam Fogle

We hosted a wedding shower there this past Sunday and the teas and the foods were absolutely wonderful. Miss Pam's homemade chicken salad and pimento spread were delicious and the presentation of the various sandwiches and desserts was exceptional. Miss Pam was a gracious host and the shower was enjoyed by all.

Wae not at all impressed with the food. It was old & the fillings were very minimal. Will not be returning.
- G 08/18/08

Tearoom Response
Dear G,
I apologize that you did not like the food that you ordered the day you visited my tea room. I can assure you that the food was not old. We always make all of our food fresh the very same day that you order it. However, during some of the extremely hot spells that we had this summer, our air conditioner was having issues, and so in rare and isolated incidents a few of our sandwiches would dry out in the short amount of time when we were arranging the food on the trays. I wonder if you came on one of those odd days. We have since fixed our air conditioner, and we have started doing our Royal Teas a little differently so that I am confident that you will find our food much improved. As always we are trying to grow and improve so that we can give our guests the very best of experiences.

It is my experience that the vast majority of our guests leave very satisfied, so I would love to chat with you to learn how we might have made things better for you. We have made many improvements lately, and always strive to make things better when we can. Please call us at 436-7077 so we can learn from you and possibly rectify the situation.

This quaint eatery tucked in a side street of Great Bridge offers a vast assortment of teas and homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts all offered in an atmosphere that mirrors a time gone by. I’ll never forget my first time eating at the With Flair Tea Room. Upon entering, I was filled with memories of tea parties with my grandmother. The tables were each draped with crisp tablecloths and I was served on the most beautiful china. I often recommend this eatery when I’m having lunch with a girlfriend or just want to step back in time and relax. With a friendly staff and always fresh offerings how can you go wrong? They continue to surpass my expectations!

My husband and I recently had lunch at With Flair and enjoyed two different lovely teas with our soup/sandwich combo: Honey Ginseng White and Creme Caramel. The teas were beautiful in color and the presentation was, as well; Pam's teapots are lovely. The lobster bisque was incredibly delicious. When I enter With Flair, I feel as if I'm visiting a dear aunt's lovely home and am dining in her dining room. Pam has created a lovely atmosphere with a feeling of calm and serenity with both her gift shop entry room and the dining rooms. I think she's done an amazing job in creating her restaurant/tea room, and I wish we had more of them like this in Tidewater. Tis a respite from our hectic pace in our hectic world. We shall return!

I was the groom at a rehearsal dinner held at With Flair. The food was phenomenal and the setting sublime. The house is very cute and features dozens of beautiful china tea cups. The service was also superb, as only two employees successfully served a party of 38. I highly recommend With Flair and its catering service.

If you have changed your prices as you say you have, when do you plan to change your web site? People rely on what they read & if you do not keep this updated & don't let us know until we get to the register it does not set well with your patrons.
- Karol 07/08/08

Tearoom Response
Dear Karol,
I wanted to apologize for any inconvenience that our price change or outdated website may have caused you, I can certainly understand your point of view about wanting updated and accurate information. Since you've come to visit, we have updated our menus to reflect the price change, and are currently working on finding someone to update our website. In the meantime, we have started a guest registry so that we may send out a monthly newsletter with current information about special events, menu changes, closings and other valuable information. All of these changes reflect our desire to better serve our customers in every way possible. Please call us at 436-7077 so that we may add you to our registry and keep you updated. Have a great day!

I have been a patron of With Flair since its opening. Over the years I have never been disappointed with the menu offerings or the price. Although I do not belong to a Tea Society, I have a discriminating taste and have enjoyed the 'Royal Tea' here, without worry that it does not fit a specific criteria. It is understandable to have frustrations with the challenges of a small business, but to question someone's Christianity in a forum such as this is in poor taste and highly inappropriate.

What a wonderful surprise to find such a pretty tearoom in Chesapeake. The lovely decor and 'for sale' items in the waiting area kept me busy before the meal.I especially enjoyed the flavorable pot of apricot tea and servings of moist blueberry bread. The pound of homemade pimento cheese I took home to my husband was the best! My praise goes to the gracious owner who met all requests in a warm manner. I plan to try her she-crab soup next time. I definitely recommend this tearoom experience to all!

I found it very unsettling that I was informed of a price increase on the menu items after we had eaten the meal and were at the register to pay. I was also asked if I had a problem with the increase---what do you say? Yes and do you want the food back.
There are ways to fix the problem--
post a sign informing me of the incfrease before I order.
- M. Coley 04/10/08

Tearoom Response
Dear M.Coley,
I apologize for any inconvenience that our price change may have caused you, I can certainly understand how you feel about not being notified of the change in a timely fashion. In truth, during the brief period of time that our menus weren't current, our servers were supposed to notify all guests in advance of the change. For whatever reason, you were not notified, and I am truly sorry. Since you've come in we have rectified that problem and our menus are up-to-date. Please know that we are doing everything possible to bring about positive changes in the tea room in order to serve our guests better. I thank you for your patience and understanding through these bumps in the road. Have a wonderful day!

I enjoy having lunch at With Flair when I am in town to visit my sister. The house is tucked in on a side street and is quaint and inviting inside. The food is always wonderful and the desserts always fresh and delectable. There were many new varieties of teas available; in addition to those listed on the menu. You can tell the owner strives to provide a calm and unhurried atmosphere (it is a tea room after all!). On our most recent visit, there was a party of over a dozen Red Hat ladies but we were still served in good time. Love the gift section in the front room as well. Just a pleasant experience all around!

I have visited this tea room 3 times now and each time I leave wondering why it's called a tea room. There is a lack of variety of teas to choose from and the most recent time I went with a large group. It did not appear Pam had anyone else there and was trying to wait on us and prepare food and tea herself. I even got up and got the tea from the sideboard and poured it myself. The tea food is brought to you on a plate just like lunch. No cute trays or tiers. And there were paper napkins.Prior to that I've had partially frozen tea bread on my lunch plate. Another time I went with a friend for tea, but she had a medical condition that did not allow her to have sugar. She called ahead to ask about having a luncheon plate instead and was given an abrupt 'no'. Not very accomodating.
I do think the house is quite nice but that's not enough for me to go back.
- Lynne 02/18/08

Tearoom Response
Dear Lynne,
I apologize that your experience at my tea room was less than expected; my heart's desire is always to serve and bless my guests, and so I wanted to let you know how I felt and to make you aware of some changes and situations in the tea room that perhaps you weren't aware of before. Since your last visit we have introduced a tea menu, listing the 30+ kinds of tea that we have always had. We have also hired a few more servers so that our service will always be excellent. At my tea room, guests can choose to have lunch off of our regular menu, or they may call ahead to reserve our Royal Tea. The difference is that our regular lunch experience is served with flair on a single lunch plate, and our Royal Tea is more fancy with the three-tiered plates, our fancy linens, and our fine china. We offer both experiences so that we can accomodate the varying needs of our guests. I would encourage you to visit again, as I believe you would have a better experience with these changes in place. Have a wonderful day!

Recently I visited for the first time. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and accomadating. Excellent service, good people skills. Lunch was very good, fresh, and appealing. Inside the atmosphere was charming; a unique space, decorated to make the guest feel welcome and comfortable. However, I offer one suggestion that I feel would improve the overall experience for the guest. After a long winter, the front porch and grounds need attention. They appear very tired and need a sprucing up for a good first impression. Overall I recommend With Flair Tea Room.
- Penny 02/09/08

Tearoom Response
Dear Penny,
Thank you for your words of encouragement, I am so happy that you enjoyed yourself at my tea room. Admitedly, after these recent drought conditions, our yard can look a little tired, especially during the winter months. We do get out there on a regular basis to clean it up and bring in new plants, however. So perhaps you had seen our yard at a moment in time when it hadn't yet been spruced up for the month. I invite you to come see us again soon so you can how it looks in the spring and summertime. In the meantime, we will take your advice and try to give it a little more TLC this winter. Have a great day!

This Christmas my older sister and I went to have Christmas Tea with Santa Claus and we had such a blast that mom thought that I'd enjoy taking my school bus driver to With Flair as a Christmas gift to her. My bus driver is always smiling, and never grumpy that I take a little longer getting on the bus...both mom and I agree she needed to be spoiled a bit for all that she does. And I really enjoy With Flair Virginia Ham sandwiches and so mom and I thought this would be a fun gift that I could share with her. We did High Tea. Miss Pam does a special plate for children and a special plate for adults...for the kids plate the only way it could be better is to have more Virginia Ham sandwiches and milk! Girls like this kind of fancy place so I'll bring my gramma when she comes from Minneso... (more)

My friend and I had tea at With Flair a couple of days ago, and really enjoyed the experience. We had the Royal Tea, which came with lovely tea sandwiches, and home made sweets. We had the specialty teas being offered for the holidays, pumpkin spice and chocolate hazelnut. Both were wonderful. The restaurant is on a quiet street off a major road, so it was easy to find, but quiet and comfortable. The service is attentive, but relaxed, and the ladies are wonderful. It is in a converted house, and has several beautifully-appointed rooms. There is a shop in the lobby selling tea pots, cookbooks and other treats. We had a lovely time, and would not hesitate to recommend With Flair to anyone who loves tea and teatime. We intend to return there ourseleves, regularly.
