Variety: I went here for lunch, when I arrived I thought it was a mistake, it would be slow as they were so busy, quite the opposite they were very punctual, my food was delicious clearly homemade. Very interesting find, suprising how good it was considering I had not seen it advertised before. real gem. |

Variety: We had a lovely experience at Ye Olde English. I was impressed by the decor when we arrived- not fussy at all. Karen & Jessie were so helpful & pleasant. We had the full tea & it was delicious & filling, quite generous, without being too much. We will definitely return on our next trip to the area. |

Variety: I love this tearoom. I went there at lunchtime and it was busy but I was served quickly and the food was great. This is my new lunch place. Cheap, not expensive at all. |

Variety: On Friday I had the most wonderful experience at your tea room. We were greeted by a woman, I believe her name to be Karen, who was very pleasant, kind and professional. After we were seated and decided on our choice of food, we enjoyed a wonderful cup of hazelnut coffee, while waiting for what turned out to be the most delicious sandwiches. The turkey and chutney was beyond description and the chicken curry was perfect. The atmosphere was very pleasant and I most definitely will return to try the other items on the menu. Thank you so much. |

Variety: We too visited the tearoom on Saturday and found the atmosphere to be lovely. The decor is so different to the normal chintzy lacey appearances. I have to disagree with Miracle I found the food too be of very high quality and when we asked for further sandwiches the lady was very accomodating. Overall I think this is one of the nicest tearooms I have visited in sometime and would give it an A star. |

Variety: My cooking group visited the tea room in August, unfortunately, I was unable to attend. After hearing rave reviews about the amount of food provided, the pleasantry of the staff and the beautiful atmosphere as well as reasonably priced tea experience, I and three others dined at the tea room on Saturday, September 12, 2009. I must say, the tea room did not fully live up to its reputation and I was a little disapointed. The atmosphere was quaint and appealing, the service was lovely and attentive, the tastiness of the food was paletable. However, in August, the price of the Queen's tea was $14.95,and we were quoted the same amount during the week when we confirmed the reservations, but, yesterday when we arrived, it was $19.95. I am not a tea drinker and had to mention the price quoted... (more) |

Variety: I suggested this tearoom to my dining out and cooking club. I was the lady in attendance today who wore the large black hat. I am happy to say my fellow foodies were treated royally at the tearoom. LOL. We were treated like special guests of the utmost importance. Thank you so much for honoring our guests many requests for extra helpings of various sandwiches and desserts. Everything was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. I will be calling to reserve a tea time a small group of ladies. Thank you again for making us feel so welcome. I will recommend you to all my friends. |

Variety: My mother hosted my baby shower for me here yesterday and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff, the service, the tea and of course - the amazing food. I received calls from several guests last night also telling me what a wonderful time they had. It truly was one of the best days ever and Louise and Neil made that possible! If you are planning a special event, for an intimate setting with incredibly personalized service - there is no better place to consider. We plan to visit again soon for dinner and often for lovely afternoons with tea and scones to die for. |

Variety: I attended a shower here on Saturday and well I have one thing to say, this was the most magnificent showers I have ever attended. The tearoom looked perfect from the chargers to the flowers to the Beatrix Potter plates. I was so impressed I reserved my shower in December. We had a hot soup which was delicious and the a Pear and Walnut with Blue Cheese and some sort of fruit dressing, oh and the scones were yum! Cant wait to have mine in December. |

Variety: I gave my mom a gift certificate to go there for her birthday in December with her sister. They had such a great time there. The owner made them a custard and they had chocolate cake. So we went July 3rd and he remembered my mom. The service was friendly and outgoing and the food was excellent. We were stuffed. I hope they stay in Lake Mary forever. |

Variety: During a business trip to Singapore, I was fortunate to attend my first High Tea at Raffles which was a wonderful experience. Because of this experience, I excitedly attended a High Tea in Oahu which was a dismal disappointment so it was with a sense of reluctance that I attended a High Tea sponsored by the Women's Club, Lake Forest. This event was catered by Louse and her Ye Ole British Tearoom staff. What a wonderful experience - an Epicurean Delight!!! Among other offerings, the scones were fresh and soft, the tea sandwiches were a delightful and a delicious asssortment; the desserts were absolutley mouth-watering. I could have managed all three tiers very nicely all by my little lonesome. Louise and her staff were so gracious, and I can't wait to visit the Tearoom itself. |

Variety: I just wanted to say thank you for making our mothers day so memorable. When I first arrived I thought you had closed and when I walked in I thought the tearoom looked breathtaking. The ambience of it being all candlelit was simply idyllic. We had such a great day and the gift at the end was just icing on the cake. Thankyou Louise you always make everything so right. Variety: On May 9, 2009. My mother and I decided to visit the tea room to celebrate Mothers Day even though we did not have reservations your staff fit us in as soon as possiable. The pastreys and scones were very delightful and the varity of tes sandwidhes were tasty as well.I did noticed that all of the full afternon teas were not the same. My Mother and I can not wait to come back to see what is offered on our next afternoon tea. |

Variety: After reading the good reviews I decided to take my mother to tea on Mother's day weekend. I was disappointed in the overall presentation, quality and appearance of the staff. Though the staff was very friendly I got tired of hearing they had a big catered event which made my experience less than great as they had to use the 3 tier servers for the catering, etc. Also, I don't expect to be served in a tea room by staff wearing short shorts and flip flops - really ruins the ambience. The finger sandwiches were fine, but a few less than fresh carrot, celery sticks & grapes here and there were not special. I noticed that other diners were given chocolate cake and the only chocolate we had were 2 strawberries dipped in some chocolate. The scones were hard and cold - in other tea houses I ... (more) |

Tearoom Response
Dear Joan,I am terribly sorry you had a bad lunch, my staff do wear all black and I will look into the flip flops. As for your experience being ruined because of the staff explaining the reasonong behind no tiers, they simply wanted to explain the reason you had platters. You would have had an array of pastries and not just scones and strawberries that never happens. As for the tearoom being sterile and the black and white being uninviting I simply have to disagree our tearoom is beautiful and you have simply missed the theming. The Dickens era was not a colourful time and our tearoom is not a lace and chintzy affair. Our scones are magnificent baked every single morning. It seems you are just not compatible with our type tearoom and I do hope you still support the tearooms in our local area. Thank you for your feedback. I do wish of there are issues it is far more constructive to let the manage know there and then in the future. It seems silly to sit somewhere if you are not happy and anyone that has been to our tearoom knows we go over and beyond to make it a great affair. Louise Ohalloran |

Variety: Ye Olde English Tea Room and it's owners, Louise and Neil, are absolutely delightful! I've been to the tea room for several different events including a birthday lunch, lunch with friends and a Women's business meeting. Each time we were greated warmly and the tea and the food were delightfully delicious! The tea room is elegantly British with lovely art work (painted by Neil), whimsical tea pots and accessories and gifts for everything tea related! Being unfamiliar with tea rooms, I wasn't sure what to expect on my first visit. But, I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable. Best of all, everything was freshly prepared and genuinely English! The ginger peach tea is a hit and the scones with clotted cream and jam are not to be missed! Ye Olde English Tea Room also recently catered an off... (more) |

Variety: I have visited Ye Olde English Tea Room several times. Each experience has been delightful. Don't let the fact that the Tea Room is located in a shopping area deter you from trying this exceptional Tea Room. The owners, Louise and Neil, as well as the entire staff went out of their way to assure us of a positive experience. From the moment you enter the tea room you feel the friendly and warm atmosphere. The food is delicious whether you are having lunch, candlelight dinner or just stopping by for some tasty scones or pastries. They have a variety of delicious and unique teas. Louise recently catered a tea for 36 ladies in our community. She was the superb professional. During the afternoon Louise planned several fun activities for us, gave an informative tea talk, and even served as mistress of ceremonies for our charity raffle. The ladies immensely enjoyed the entire tea experience. Thanks to Louise the tea was a huge success. |

Variety: Recently, our women's club had their annual charity tea catered by Louise's Ye Olde Enlish Tea Toom. Louise herself is delightful and so down to earth. The food was displayed beautifully and tasted fantastic. The scones were the best that I ever tasted. I highly recommend this tea room for any special occasion or when you are just in the mood for a quiet and friendly place to have a cup of tea and some goodies. |

Variety: I have had lunch at Ye Olde English Tea Room, on several occassions, with different ladies groups, primarily from Lake Forest. We always enjoy the ambience. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The menu is traditionally English Tea Room, and the owners are from Great Britain, and absolutely delightful, and jolly. In fact we liked things so much we arranged to have Louise cater an English Tea for us at our Club House. She and her staff did and outstanding job for us. Louise came up with some fantastic and fun things for us to do. As we were milling around when we first arrived, we were greeted with Champagne, and chocolate strawberries.... a lovely touch. Louise treated us to a talk on the history of tea. Everything was perfect! A huge THANK YOU to Louise and her staff! |

Variety: We recently attended a baby shower at this tearoom and it was excellent. The tables were decorated beautiful and the atmosphere was wonderful. The Afternoon Tea was filled with sandwiches and quiches and the desserts were mmm.. The staff were very attentive and the attention to detail was made from the sign to the smallest sugar cube. My sister was in two minds to have a shower and I am do glad she did, it was two weeks ago and everyone is still talking about it. Thanks to all staff who made it so special and especially to Louise you made the event so special to my family. |

Variety: I was not impressed with this tea room. The reviews are nothing like my experience. I felt the food to be less than what I would expect of a quaint place like a tea room. The pastries were what you find at Sam's warehouse. The ambiance felt sterile. I will stay with my favorite local tea room they have never let me down, but I do like to try other places, but I was quite disappointed here. |

Tearoom Response
Dear Julie, my name is Louise Ohalloran, owner of the Ye Olde English Tearoom, thank you for your valuable comments and for supporting the local tearooms in the area with the economy as it is today it is imperative we all support family run businesses as we are the small businesses that are struggling to keep local people employed. We set the tearoom up a year ago and we have had such magnificent feedback from the community so your review saddens me greatly. Our afternoon tea is specially prepared for your arrival and we bake our scones every morning and our bread comes over from England and majority of our sandwich fillings we make so I can only assume the pastries you received were not our normal British pastries. I thought I had prepared enough until my return as I am in England for a week on business but I am aware we have been exceptionally busy and perhaps my British pastries have come to the end and the staff have prepared or bought from local companies. I will look into this as at the moment it is only 4am with yourselves. May I please have the oppurtunity to serve you again. We are a very good tearoom as are all the tearooms locally to us and feedback is very important and I will take on board your comments. As for being sterile we are very clean, I am a bit of a ceanliness freak but my vision was for a modern tearoom not floral and lace so we are a very chic place rather than dated. Please ensure you pop back in , we hope you allow us a second chance but more importantly than that please continue to support your family run tearooms imagine a world with just franchises. Thank you and please pop by soon. Regards Louise

Variety: We attended an evening dinner here. It was so good. The food was of high quality, the tearoom looked wonderful. Staff were very attentive service was not what I have expected of tearooms, here it was excellent. The only negative feedback I have was there was so much food perhaps cut down the size of the portions, which once again is not what you expect of a tearoom. It is quite clear the tearoom is managed exceptionally well and it shows in all aspects from when you are first greeted to when you leave. The staff have been trained to a very high standard. I have already booked my ladies group for May. |

Variety: We have attended this tearoom a few times and have tried other tearooms in the area, Mount Dora, Sanford, and Baldwin Park and this tearoom just has that something special. First of all you think um is this going to be good, its in a strip mall which some may be put off by, but please dont be. As soon as you meet the servers and the owners, Neil and his wife, you just fall in love with the place. We were told so many good things about the tearoom we just had to give it a try and what a great experience. This has to be one of my favorite places to eat. If you think it is just a tearoom you will be mistaken, a true gem. |

Variety: Remembering the Art of Conversation In a regiment of Emails, cell phones, cable TV and TIVO. I think of times of yesterday when communication was face to face. You could enjoy the simplicity of a smile and reflect upon the gentle nuances of eyes meeting in expectation. You may not think places like this exist anymore much less find it in a relatively new restaurant. By I have found such a place in Lake Mary Florida. It’s called the Ye Olde Tea Room. Immediately you are translated into a life of linens and cutlery; teacups with saucers and of course bone china. You see the paintings of Dickens’s stories coming to life and real people talking about real things. Seating is scarce but that is good otherwise the noise would be deafening. Instead you hear soft conversation. It is... (more) |

Tearoom Response
Hi CaroleWe are terribly sorry you had a bad experience at the tearoom this is an isolated event and I can only imagine our running out of items is referring to our British Goods, we are such a small tearoom we are unable to stock high levels of produce, however if you would like to preorder we will ensure we getall the stock you require, as for the service, we offer exceptional service, we are not fast food, we are a British Tearoom , a relaxing environment, I am so very proud of our staff they are so commited to serving everyone to the highest level and I can only imagine perhaps you came in one of the days we were training our two new staff members. I do hope you give us another opportunity, we do appreciate your custom and have created the most beautiful of surroundings in Lake mary and we would like you to enjoy it as much as we do, hope to see you again soon, Louise Ohalloran |
