Went to Josephines with a group on a tour bus. I guess if you go by yourself and order off the menu that the portions are decent-not so with a tour bus group. Our half sandwiches were made on plain cheap sandwich bread-nothing hearty like we expected, and our 'cup of soup' was about 6 bites worth. Desserts were half the normal size and just ok, nothing worthy of a true 'tea room'. Not worth what we paid. Will have to go with a friend and check out their regular menu and hope what others have said is true. Would not advise doing a large group there as our entire group of 20+ was disappointed.

Made it back to enjoy lunch with a bus load of ladies. They all loved it and really enjoyed the shopping. Will be back again.

This is one of my daughter's and my FAVORITE places to go. We used to have the luxury of living 20 minutes from Josephine's and we'd frequent it, quite a bit. We've since moved and have yet to find our new 'special place'. I don't know that we'll ever be able to top Josephine's.

Another trip to Josephines and another delicious meal. It was crowded as usual, but the servers really hustled. So things moved along. As usual the desserts were great.

i really love going to this tea room my step mother first took me there when i was about 12 years old, and yes it is crowded and slow but thats what you get at any good place to eat, if you do not agree try to have lunch at Olive Graden on the weekend with no reservation. anyway i love joseaphens and i will always go as long as they are open and i hope one day i can take my daughter as well. it will always remain one of my most favorite places to go w/ the girls!

I've been to Josephine's several times and have enjoyed my lunch and shopping experience. Since they added the closed-in 'patio', it seems the extra # of tables has slowed them down a bit; however, the service was still good, and the food is great. I'm sure the lady who complained about the lobster bisque could have asked them to heat it up if it were indeed cold. They have the best lobster bisque EVER. The merchandise is fun to look at even if you don't buy. Th clothing shop has the best accessories (great purses) and super earrings at reasonable prices compared to any other shop of it's kind. I am so shocked to read the good reviews of this tea room. I wonder if I went to the wrong Josephines. I was completely astounded by the bad food, lack of ambiance and outrageous prices in the gift shops. Not to mention the general deshabille of the buildings. I had the roast beef special with the 'lobster' bisque and garden salad. For this, we waited over 30 minutes. By the time we got our meal, the soup was stone cold, and the mayonnaise on the sandwich had congealed, but I don't think anything could have helped this food. The roast beef was very dry, the special sauce seemed to be miracle whip and blue cheese, and the bun was not only dry, but sickeningly sweet. The soup was awful, and the same vile miracle whip blue cheese concoction served as the salad dressing. I had hoped dessert would be better, but I guess I made the wrong choice. I had the lemon meringue pie which was some sort of wierd solid goo on the bottom topped with burnt meringue. In fairness, another member of our party had the mixed berry cobbler, which was really very good. I would not bother to return to this very noisy place. The service is lousy and the food is lacking.

I had lunch at Josephine's last week for the first time. The quality and quantity of the food was outstanding. The service was fast and very friendly. I can't wait to go back. The tea was great and I highly recommend the dessert. The portions are huge. Go see for yourself. I am one very satisfied customer!

I've been going to Josephine's for several years now and have decided their success has become their downfall. The gift shops are still tops, but the tea room is always crowded, too noisy, and the poor waitresses are too few, and as a result too frazzeled, have too many tables to keep up with and because their service is spotty at best, the tips are probably down. I suspect the kitchen is overwhelmed. The food quality has slipped and the lunches are slow to come to table. Face the fact, you are a large eating establishment and it's time to manage it accordingly.
