My absolute favorite place to be. I love the atmosphere, the tea selection, the food, the scones (definitely try the peach melba for dessert!), and love the kindness and welcoming vibes the people who work here bring. This is a must-try place. 10/10

Really wonderful, impressive tea selection and delicious, fresh food. The menu does tend to be a little pricey, but everything is good quality. I mainly felt the need to write this review to update any would-be visitors on a few things from previous reviews. One review from several years ago complained about the owner and I feel it's important to note that it seems to be under new management. The woman who seems to be the manager/owner has been incredibly gracious and friendly on the few times I stopped in. As far as the "feminine" aesthetic another reviewer noted, they are definitely going for an eclectic look with plenty of vintage teaware and decor which does tend to the floral and pastel style. It's fun and a little over the top, but to be honest, look into the history of tearooms and you'll find they were always distinctly female spaces in contrast to pubs. They are going for an homage to that feminine Victorian style, but it's still quite cozy and men are very much welcome (at least my husband enjoyed his visit).

We have been traveling through New York tasting tea rooms all year. Kathleen's tea room is by far the most delicious and reasonably priced! We have driven from Warwick multiple times just to come here. The staff are friendly and the serving sizes are huge! I highly recommend the short cake desserts and assorted tea sandwiches!

Kathleen's Tea Room is a great place to have tea, and the food is wonderful too. The room itself is sweetly decorated with mismatched china and cozy touches. The tea menu is large with a variety of black, green, herbal and white teas, among other beverages for those who don't like tea. The sandwiches and salads are tasty and definitely better than similar fare at other restaurants because of the attention to detail the chef shows at Kathleen's. If you have one thing on the menu, have a scone. If you are a bit hungrier, have dessert. Any of the desserts that feature their scones and whipped cream are well worth the calories. This a great spot for parties as well, and you can often find bridal/baby showers, birthday parties or families at Kathleen's. There's even a bookshelf and dress up area for kids. All around a delicious gem in Northern Westchester.

This is, as far as I understand a mother-daughter team. It was delightful, it was lit a little dark, with a lot of natural light, but there may have been a power outage. We had peppermint tea and black tea, both of good quality, and in beautiful mixed china. We also had some salmon-and-caper sandwiches and cheese. It was close to closing, or maybe we caught it at a quiet moment, but it was very sweet.

I dont get the fuss. It's alright, definitely a more female oriented atmosphere. The teas are alright, the desserts however are delicious.

For it's location I give it credit, but you may be better off jumping on the train for 45 minutes to Manhattan.

It was my first visit to Kathleen's and I must say I had a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. Marie, our table hostess, was wonderful and gave us great recommendations. She even gave us some information about the surrounding shops and boutiques. I can't wait to go back and visit again.

I have been to tea rooms all over NYC, yet this charming Peekskill tea room still remains closest to my heart. It is the cutest tea room, and in the three billion times I have been there, I have never once been disappointed by the food or the service!

Things have changed since I last visited Kathleen's. I believe that a few more tables may have been squeezed in, making it more crowded than usual.

Our waitress was obviously inexperienced. After she brought the tea, We had a very long wait for milk and lemon. After we ate, it was a long wait before she came to take our dessert order. When she did finally bring dessert, she left most of our dirty lunch dishes on the table. When she served the dessert, she left our check on the table making us feel that we had to hurry up and leave. I believe a 20% gratuity added onto the bill (standard procedure at Kathleen's for groups of 5 or more) is an outrageous amount to pay for poor service. We will not be returning.

From the antique tin ceiling to the tables the whimsical room is covered in tea pots and dainty cups. Each one has it's own unique style adding to the theme of a special place for tea. The rainbow rubis is my favorite tea its has a fruity amaretto flavor to it. This is by far my favorite tea room and restaurant that I have ever been to. I return every year that I am in town with the love of my life. The window seat is our special spot we enjoy the privacy that the nook in the window gives us and the plants, stained glass and tea pots give the room a charming feel. Although it is a little pricey for lunch it is well worth it. Anyone that appreciates the aroma and relaxation tea can fulfill the soul should check out Kathleen's Tea room in the heart of Peekskill, Ny. I would love to share my special place with everyone that appreciates a excellent cup of tea.

This is one of the most friendly and relaxing places in our area to enjoy a nice lunch with friends. The food is wonderful and the presentation is so fun. Thank you Kathleen for this treasure to the Hudson Valley.

Well, I'm certainly not sure what all the fuss is about this place and it is certainly NOT the best tea room in Westchester (that would be Silver Tips in Tarrytown). $10 for a small bowl of spinach with a few sliced apples labeled the 'Best Spinach Salad Ever'?? With 'maple walnut dressing' that has no walnuts? Loose tea leaves that will sit in the pot getting bitter as you drink your way through the pot?? Teenage wait staff that has to be prompted to bring you every little thing, including your $20 lunch bill? This place really ticked me off and I will not return.

I went with my mother and 18 month old daughter as part of a day trip to the zoo over at Bear Mountain. We were seated by the lovely play area, which enabled my mother and I to enjoy tea while my daughter could play. We got the high tea for two and there was more than enough. We don't get down that way very often, but I would like to go there again.

I found Kathleen's several years ago through a NY Times article and have returned numerous times a year since with friends and family.

The food is always freshly made and delicious. The scones are an absolute must for dessert.

Service is always friendly and we are never rushed through our meal.

Several friends and I came early - before lunchtime - they have a great place for small children to play. The place was empty except for us. Food was wonderful. What killed the experience for me was when we were charged $5 for 2 children (ages 3 & 4) to share a $6 plate of PB & J sandwiches. Not sure how fast I would go back now.

This place is wonderful! I go there every chance I get. They are very accomodating when I bring my stroller with my newborn. The menu is great and the presentation is always, always beautiful. I am slowly bringing all of my friends there and they also enjoy the atmosphere and food. I would encourage you to stop by when you get the chance. It's a beautiful and charming little shop.

Kathleen's Tea Room is the loveliest tea room I have been to. The menu is delicious from the High Tea to the Peach melba. Of course, I am partial since I worked there for a year. You will enjoy the experience with your family and friends!

Great selection of teas. Beautiful presentation - elevated what could have been an ordinary sandwich into a delightful lunch. My 8 grain bread was perfectly toasted with plenty of well cooked bacon, fresh ripe tomatoe and lettuce (not iceberg...) plated with a fantastic potatoe salad, grape tomatoes, bell pepper, carrot, olives, sweet pickles... super yummy! Dessert was delicous too. I can't wait to go back!

Disappointing!!! Cute place, BUT, food was nothing special..Ordered a sandwich on 8 grain. The bread was hard & stale, chicken had minimal mayonaise & taste. Bread was so hard, I ate chicken with a fork. The dessert was OK. The menu said scone and it was a biscuit with way too much baking powder. The help was aloof, not interested if things were OK. They seemed a bit grumpy, not interested in their jobs.

I have had the pleasure of enjoying Tea at Kathleen's on many occasions. She has a fabulous place - but what makes Kathleen's unique is Kathleen. It is her energy, her presence, her warm giving spirit that is so wonderful. She is very real and down to earth - I do not think she takes kindly to rude guests - people often forget that is what they are - guests - and do not conduct themsevles appropriately. Her husband, Larry, is often there - he too is a pleasure. He loves to talk, joke, refresh you tea pot. I love them.

I just enjoyed a high tea with five friends today, and I must say that the owner is extremely rude. Not only did he go through boxes at the very next table, but his overall attitude really...really needs improvement. We made a reservation for 7 people, but only 6 were able to make it...we were charged for 7 people anyway. Now, I don't care about being charged, but the owner's response was, 'didn't you think that was a lot of food for only 6 people?' HELLO!!! What kind of a response was that? We are very nice people!!!!!!!!

I always enjoy coming here. The variety of teas is excellent, and the food is quite good, especially the desserts. The servers are very knowledgeable, and I enjoy the fact that they never make me feel rushed. Kathleen herself often shows up, and is amazingly friendly. Although the decor looks like a 'chick place,' I have taken male friends there, one of whom told me that the food was so good, he would even come back without a female companion.

One piece of advice - make reservations.

My husband and I had tea there recently. The food is good but do not expect any service if you are not a stereotypical 'American' customer with blonde hair and blue eyes. If you are, you will be okay and fussed over and asked if you need refills or anything else...otherwise be prepared to quietly drink your tea and leave since they are doing you a favor by letting you sit at one of the tables along with other 'regular folk'. The food is good but not worth the humiliation!!!!!

We tried the 'high tea.' The variety of sandwiches was nice but no explanation as to their content was offered. The 'scones' were actually biscuits and no traditional clotted cream or lemon curd accompanied them. Limited varity of pasteries for dessert but really nice selection of fresh fruits. The service was not attentive.
