Every time my mother visits from Phoenix she wants to know when we are going to McNabs! I also take the grandchildren who love the place, the tea, the dog, and the lovely ladies who make over them. We have all enjoyed some lovely lunches, scones and teas. One of our favorites is 'Red Hat' only they have it! It is as good as it's name.

Walking into MacNabs was a treat in itself. It is such a beautiful and tranquil place. Their friendly little Scottie Dog 'Norrie' greated us on the stone walkway into the Tea Room. We felt like we were walking into Beatrix Potter's home! The English style gardens and flowers were in full August bloom.

Inside is just as beautiful with all the antiques and wonderful tea pots set out on open hutches. The scones were buttery and warm and the lemon curd alone was worth the trip. Tart, smooth and lemony!

The ladies, Fran and Nancy, are so much fun to talk to, and their knowledge of the world's teas is remarkable. They also have an entire room and many shelves devoted to holding huge gold tins of various teas, which one may try out.

I loved the entire experience as much as the tea. The ladies were charming and full of stories, and their love and knowlege about tea is really remarkable! I loved every minute there, and hated to say good-bye. But...I'll be back!

I'm not sure there are enough positive adjectives to properly describe the unique and enjoyable time I have alsways had at McNabs, but let me try: interesting, delicious, unique, educational, pampering, endless variety, visually stimulating, wonderful aromas, hilarious women owners...McNabs is a MUST for anyone who loves tea...and scones...and lemon curd...and savory food...and sweet food..and FUN!

This tea room sets a very high standard for all others to aspire to. The homemade sandwiches, cookies, deserts and, of course, the variety of teas draw you back again and again. A trip to Boothbay Harbor area is never complete without stopping in for at least a pot of tea and desert.

      BRAVO LADIES!

My family has been visiting the Boothbay Region for years and just two years ago did I discover MacNab's Tea Room and boy was I sorry I didn't find it sooner. Prior to our trip from PA I contacted MacNab's to request a gift certificate which I surprised my Mother with for her birthday. Once we arrived to Boothbay and set out date for our Tea/Lunch. What a lovely, warm atmospher. The tea was wonderful with a large variety. There were four of us in our group and we all tried a different tea. The lunch was delicious as well, we probably sounded silly with all the oohing and aahing we did but we had a great time. The ladies that served us couldn't have been nicer. This summer we have a trip planned for Maine but we are staying about an hour away from Boothbay, I am sure I will be able to talk my Mother into the drive because she loved MacNab's. Thanks for a wonderful memory and hopefully many more.

My Mother and I enjoyed a wonderful Afternoon Tea at MacNab's. The hostess was most accomadating - we were seated in the main room as it was the coolest room in the house (on a 90 degree day). All available tea is displayed on shelves with sniffing jars - this was wonderful for choosing our teas. Then came our 3 tiered bounty of beautifully displayed finger sandwiches (with edible flowers), wonderful mini quiches, pinwheels, crackers, cheese - all to accompany our delicious teas. When we were more than full our hostess reminded us to save room for desserts!! Delightful cookies, pastries, cakes, fruit - it was fabulous! And so many tea products to purchase - teapots, adorable cozies, books, CD's and of course all teas. I highly recommend an Afternoon Tea at MacNab's and am anxious to visit again.

This is a pretty rural setting near busy Boothbay Harbor, in an old house with charming, quirky tea decor. Unfortunately, you have to make reservations a day in advance for a full tea, but the tea served was good, as was the fresh egg-salad sandwich on whole-grain bread. We were the only customers on a nice October afternoon, and the owner and staff were holding a small private birthday party in another room for an elderly relative, so we were pretty much left to ouselves. Cute tea items for sale.
