I went here for the Christmas tea and was very disappointed. Rather than my tea being properly brewed I was brought a pot of hot water with a Tea Bag in it. I could have experienced this at home. The portion size was extremely small. The size you would expect at a child's tea party. The server was not friendly or personable. Rather than feeling like you were attending a proper tea room it felt like a restaurant. Myrtle's Tea House is located in the middle of a neighborhood so you have to park in front of someon's house and walk down the street to Myrtle's. I would not recommend this tea house to anyone.

Myrtle's is the tea room I measure all others by. The menu changes monthly. Myrtle's full tea includes sorbet, homemade soup, at least 6 tea sandwiches, fresh fruit, a hot scone, and a few small desserts with bottomless tea. You can even change the type of tea during your meal. There are several other options for lighter appetites. Everything is fresh, homemade and delicious. Service is nice and you never feel rushed. The house is elaborately decorated for each season. There's a charming gift shop. Do yourself a favor and make a point of visiting Myrtle's! Reservations strongly recommended.

If you want the best of the best in southwest Washington - this is it!! Elizabeth (the owner) has the most perfect personality for a Tea House. Her food is exceptional - delicious and a variety of breads - not just the regular white used in many tea rooms. All her soups are homemade. Her hot scone is to die for. Don't bother asking for her recipes - she guards them well. She purchased this house and had it completely redone. Beautiful surroundings and a wonderful gift shop. Her staff are polite and knowledgeable about the various teas. Has a menu just for tea selections. She often blends her own tea e.g. the herbery. Don't miss this place if you can help it. Need to make reservations, so please don't drop in. She books up fast and often has specialty teas e.g. Mad Hatter, Gone with the Wind, etc. December her teas are all for Christmas and a great time to experience her knack of decorating. She also has a room (Cat's Meow) just for parties of around 10-14 and a Child's Party room, too. Me, I love the Florida Room, but the Bon-Bon room is great if you have gentlemen attend. You cannot go wrong at this Tea Room. I go at least once a month and take my husband with me, too.
