This was stop 1 on a birthday tea tour around Kansas City. The ladies were incredibly kind, patient and had a wonderful selection. Definitely worth going back. Gem store filled with wonderful smells. .

I have learned so much about tea since I started regularly visiting Tea Market! Owner Stacie Robertson is a Certified Tea Specialist, and her passion in life is educating anyone and everyone about the joys of tea. Her shop offers an excellent selection of loose leaf teas and teaware, and Stacie teaches a variety of classes on tea topics. Her employees, Laurie and Cate, are tea-knowledgeable and just delightful. It is always a treat to visit Tea Market!

Tea Market is not a tea room, but rather a tea shop. They do not prepare tea here, nor do they serve food. Their selection of teas is more than appropriate and the quality of their offerings is excellent. They do have classes here from time to time where they serve food as well as tea and they have all been high quality and informative.

I absolutely love the Tea Market & the owner. I find it hard to believe that anyone would describe the owner as rude. I've always found her to be pleasant, informative, and very friendly. I love everything about Tea Market! The classes are great--so informative & interesting. The quality of all the teas are superb. Yes, some items are more expensive, but the variety & uniqueness are just great. Always a tea lover, I had given up using loose tea for years. Stacie (the owner) renewed my love & enthusiasm for loose tea (or quality tea bags) and I will never look back at coffee again! I've embraced tea once again & feel healthier as a result. Thanks to Stacie for showing me the difference in drinking tea and the proper infuser to use!

I also agree with the others. And just so it's known, I did not stumble across these reviews until after I had visited the store, so I was not biased. When I walked in the door, the owner was on a personal phone call that extended well into my visit. When I was finally greeted, I could sense her high and mighty attitude. Although it was a cute shop to peruse, and there was an adequate selection of teas, the prices were outrageous! I understand that store owners need to cover their overhead costs, and their products will therefore be more expensive than online stores, but good grief! The English Breakfast at Tea Market is priced at $3.00 per ounce. I usually purchase my tea through the Harney and Sons website. They sell English Breakfast for $19.00 per pound, which is $1.19 per ounce. Depending on how much stuff I buy, I either pay $4.50 or $5.50 for shipping. Like I said, it was a nice little store to wander around in, but I don't believe I will return for a purchase.

I have to agree with ladygreyer, the proprietor of this shop is RUDE. So rude that my husband had to leave the shop to keep from saying something to her about her attitude. Although the shop is lovely, the service is lacking and we'll spend our money where we are appreciated.

For those who remember ---- Tea Market is to tea enthusiasts what Whistler's Books was to readers --- or Classical Westport was to music lovers --- or what Pryde's Old Westport STILL is to cooks. Tea Market is a purveyor of incredible teas and an education for the curious. (Tea classes are impressive and fun.) W/out this shop, I'd not have experienced this quality nor discovered the likes of those astonishing oolongs. When I need some retail therapy, their dandy tea accessories satisfy the binge. For beginners and connoisseurs, it's simply a pleasure to stop in this charming place to spend a little time with the passionate staff sharing what's new and, most often, imparting some gem about an old favorite.

I visited this tea shop and found the proprietor to be an obnoxious know-it-all who did not listen. The teas selection was as large as one should find in a real tea shop but the prices were far too high.

I've been a customer of Tea Market for quite awhile, even though I live out of state! There's a large variety of fresh, high quality teas, neat gifts and accessories, and they are now doing classes that provide lots of information, and opportunities to try new teas and products. The shop and special classroom are tastefully decorated, and the customer service I've found to be helpful and friendly. I highly recommend making this a destination for teas and information.
