Great place, knowledgeable staff, great selection, friendly environment, etc.

Too bad they closed this location, along with several others in 2021 probably due to the plandemic. There is still the main store in St. Anthony neighborhood.

I've loved this shop for nearly two decades now. The selection of tisanes alone makes it worth stopping in and the variety of unique tea brewing devices is always great for gift-giving.

Delicious tea and friendly staff. I enjoy visiting here and sipping on a cup of tea with a good book. Their house chai is amazing, and they allow you refill your bags of bulk loose tea for a discount!

***NOTE - this location has closed permanently. It's a shame, this was a great location.

I've had more long conversations here than any other establishment in the Twin Cities. So easy to lose track of time amid the aroma and atmosphere of this place.

I am a huge fan of TeaSource and their excellent selection, wide variety of events, specials, and merchandise. The staff are generally friendly and fairly knowledgeable about the selection of teas within the shop.

I am especially fond of their Sample Tuesdays, where they cup five different teas based on a central theme (i.e. Chinese Greens, Holiday Teas, Herbal Favorites) and serve it to you on a tray for a mere $3. It's a great way to try a tea you might have otherwise never thought to.

Their pastries are ALWAYS delicious - I'd highly recommend the Lemon Cream Cake, but the Chai shortbread is amazing as well.

TeaSource has a large variety of tea, and their shop is warm and comfortable. Half is devoted to seating, and the other half to walls of accessories and books.

As far as tea goes, it's easy to see that the owner's heart is in Indian teas. Their Chinese selection is definitely sub-par. Average pu'ers, 'dark' tea that tastes nothing like itself and more like an incredibly bland pu'er, and bitter greens.

I also dislike their style of service. The staff is friendly, but generally knows little about tea. It is difficult to ask them questions, and they seem uninterested in tea. It's a job for them, which is totally fine, I guess. Just not what I'm looking for. They do have a wall full of pamphlets with generally good info, but I'd rather talk to a person than read a hand out.

Also, whenever you order tea, they give you the timer yourself (an hourglass). You're responsible for making sure the tea is steeped well. If you lose track of time while chatting with your friend and the tea is bitter and foul, that's your fault. Also, all of their teas are steeped for the same amount of time...???

They advertise 'free sample Tuesdays,' when other tea houses in the Twin Cities have samples everyday. Maybe I have bad timing, but every time I've tried these samples, they are always very bitter and drying. Why do a bad sample? They once slipped a sample of Gyokuro into my bag (very nice!). When I went home and tried it, however, the stuff was so so bitter and drying. I tried steeping it in several different ways (big teapot as recomended, gongfu style, sitting in a cup, etc..) and they all resulted in bad tea. Again, why give out samples of subpar tea? It gives the impression that they don't know what their own tea tastes like. Either that, or they like tea that is bitter and drying.

Finally, they don't offer all of their teas iced or hot. They have a limited selection in the summer. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but that selection is never very yummy (at least to my tastes).

So, all in all, thier actual tea often leaves me confused. Come here if you're looking for a new Indian black, or if you already know exactly what you want. Do not come for tea here if you want good Chinese tea, if you want to learn from a person, or if you want a blended/flavored tea that is subtle and delicious. This is a great place to come to sit and relax. They also have the best selection of books on tea in the Twin Cities, and thier accessory wall is very impressive. This is especially true of thier non-traditional accesories (western tea pots, infusers, fun accessories). Thier yixing collection is small and a little bit tacky, but that's true of all the stuff that makes it to America.

TeaSource in Highland Park is a comfortable, welcoming place for anyone looking for the occasional pot of tea, or for those perfecting their gongfu skills at home. Every Tuesday is 'sample day' offering five types of tea at once, and on Friday is 'happy hour' which lets you try even the rarest teas at the standard price. TeaSource is definitely worth a try.

Huge selection of teas, but most teas I have purchased from them have been of very poor quality compared to other sources. I have tried all their senchas, earl gray, and various other green teas and I was very disappointed with each tea. Will go back to ordering all my tea online.

My first experience with the Tea Source was very delightful. The selection of teas was overwhelming. The young lady helping me was very polite and patient. There samples were very fresh and they were more than willing to make fresh brews of other teas I wished to sample. I did not try any of the food, but the tea will have me coming back again.

Tea Source is easily my favorite place for tea in the Twin Cities. Huge selection, helpful and knowledgeable staff, good prices... What's not to like about this place?

I was impressed with the selection and of the teas. Overwhelmed, the staff was patient enough and helped me choose a nice tea. Parking was a bit of a problem as the area seems to always be congested.

I bought a variety of teas to try. As busy as they were (always a good sign), the person helping me was patient and helpful with suggestions for what I might like or not like. The teas appeared to be fresh and what I have tried so far have been of an excellent quality.

I did not eat there or try any of their tea offerings on-site.

The first time I went in here, Bill, (the owner), assisted me and I knew nothing about tea. I think I was there for 45 minutes and he couldn't have been more pleasant. He didn't rush me, in fact, I think he enjoyed helping a 'newbie' like me! I have been back several times since and love it more each time!! Great job!

While I have not been in this location but Tea Source's other shop, I do love it. It's one of my favs and I have enjoyed bringing friends here to introduce them to one of my loves and addictions. In fact, I was there two days ago to purchase a gift for a friend. The staff is always helpful and has even remembered me from one visit to the next, along with what they served me. I love that! Well done!

One of the best tea shops in the country! You will get amazing tea at fair and reasonable prices. Bill (the owner) wants to make tea accessible to everyone, regardless of your level of experience. Whether you drink tea in the shop, buy it to take home, or order it online, you will not go wrong with this excellent shop.

This establishment is NOT a tea room. It is exactly what the name implies: Tea Source. Excellent tea quality and variety. The atmosphere is somewhat like a shipping yard break room, but if you want to know anything about any tea, the owner of Tea Source is your man. I found the scones too large and dry, but am willing to overlook that as the main product here is, after all, the tea. If one is looking for a victorian tea room, look elsewhere, but remember that Tea Source never promised you a tea-garden. It just promised you great tea. I suggest buying it (either online, or in store) and steep it at home for full enjoyment. You will not be disappointed. Personally, I appreciate having the opportunity to try a cup before making a purchase. I know scalded tea, but I can taste potential even if it isn't PERFECTLY brewed. Visit and visit often!
