I visited The Spicery recently after finding out from a friend it was open again. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks the quality is excellent. My friend and I ate lunch there, talked afterwards and during the lunch and enjoyed doing so. The friendliness was wonderful and plan to visit again soon. Thanks for opening The Spicery again, it means a lot to me personally. We ladies love a special place, a feminine place to eat at and enjoy being a lady.

It has been a few years since I last visited the Spicery and I'm so glad I went. My friend and I both enjoyed the chicken salad. It was AMAZING! Sweet, tangy, crispy..delicious!! Dessert was just as wonderful as well. Even though we arrived within an hour of closing - we were never rushed and our server was delightful!

Best Mother's Day Brunch! Perfect location for a delicious meal and quaint ambiance. Must try their chicken salad on a home made soft roll. I love tea and their Queen Victorian tea is the best I have ever had at a tea house and if you like bread pudding don't miss this one. We sometimes stop in for tea and this warm unforgettable dessert! We love this place and wish they were open later and on Sunday. Put this one on your bucket list!

Many, many years ago we had my daughter's 8th birthday party at 'The Spicery'. The little girls dressed up like big girls and ate little sandwiches while sipping on play tea! A fun time was had by all! Now 24 years later my Mom and I are planning her first baby shower at the same quaint little restaurant! What a wonderful way to welcome a new life! Everyone at the Spicery make you feel right at home! Service is great and the food is just excellent! I can't wait until February to share this wonderful place with all our guests!

The Bread Pudding is the best I have ever had! It's the homemade yeast rolls that get the most brags! The owner comes around to greet and you know he takes pride and genuinely cares and enjoys the Spicery! Oh! Eat QUICHE!!

We had a delightful time having afternoon tea at The Spicery. Wonderful food and lovely atmosphere. I was a little disappointed that the only cream/sugar provided was in packets on the table and that the tea was not loose leaf. Also when more tea was requested by one of us, our server merely put more hot water in the pot with the used teabag.

I always enjoy my trip to the Spicery, and the staff is very attentive and cheerful. And the food -- oh, it's delicious! They have very special homemade rolls with most dishes that are to die for -- their salads are fantastic and the quiche is my total favorite. The home itself lends so nicely to the atmosphere of the meal also. Don't miss it!

Provided a wonderful, but not overwhelming variety of all teas including herbals. we have really enjoyed the high tea offering at a very reason able price and plenty of delicious food- can't pick a favorite sandwich as they are all delicious, the scones are awesome, although I would like a jam with them in addition to the homemade and obscenely rich Devonshire cream and lemon curd. The individual desserts are a treat to the eye as well as the palate even if I am too full to eat them all. the atmosphere is warm and friendly as is Matt and his staff.. We will be back again!!

Overall, my friend and I enjoyed our tea experience. The first pot of tea was lukewarm, but the second pot was nice and hot! Tea bags are used rather than whole leaf. The first course was a scone and shortbread. The scone was small, more like a cookie, and it was VERY dry. Disappointing! Also, it was strange to have 1 scone and 1 shortbread and have this as the first course of the tea. The tea sandwiches were delicious--ham & cheese on a homemade little roll, chicken salad, tuna salad, cucumber & cream cheese. The final course was a delicious custard with 2-bite-size sweets: brownie, macaroon, lemon square, raspberry square, sandie. Mmm, so good! Would I return for tea, probably not, but I would definitely return for lunch and have their delicious sandwiches and wonderful desserts in this lovely old home that transports you back in time to a gentler era.

I always enjoy having an iced glass of The Spicery's Wild Berry tea with my lunch or dessert. Their menu compliments many teas and their service is wonderful. The Garden Vegetable Quiche and Banana Cream Pie are two of my favorites. The atmosphere is enchanting and conducive to sipping a warm 'cuppa' as the Brits say.

I recently had tea here. The first course was a scone, which was very dry, small, more like a cookie than a scone. It was accompanied by what was said to be lemon curd. This was in a small pot and you poured it out. Not like any lemon curd I had ever had. The taste was good, but too runny. Our second and third courses were sandwiches and then dessert. These were excellent, both in taste and appearance. However, I feel the scone course needs some improvement. Would not have tea again, but would have a lunch.

The service staff were courteous and professionally mannered.

The food was excellent, which is why we come every time when we are downtown. We love the decor. A beautiful place to eat and enjoy time away from home and we live in Glendale.

Best chef salad in town and homemade rolls are to die for. The people are friendly and down to earth. I love how it is decorated and have been going there for years, even after I moved an hr away.
