My cousins and I recently met for lunch at this lovely Tea Room. We are the grandchildren of Dr. and Mrs. Aubrey A. Posey who built the house in 1929 and raised their family under its roof. Needless to say, it was a time of reminiscing for us all. We brought pictures from the 1940's and matched them up to the home's exterior. As far as my meal, the plum spice tea was delicious, served piping hot and housed in a sweet little tea cosy to keep it warm. I ordered the crab cake and tilapia combination and both were very well prepared. The cream of crab soup was luscious, creamy, rich and full of large lumps of crabmeat. For dessert, we all had the bread pudding with bourbon sauce and it just capped off a fantastic meal of food, family and fun! I am honored that my grandparents' home is used for such a lovely function. And the owner was most gracious in showing us around and helping us to identify photos. I picked up a few treasures from the gift shops to take home. I celebrated my 1st birthday on the front porch of this family home and my oldest daughter suggests that I should celebrate my next birthday there as well... what a great idea! Don't miss this elegant little tea room on your next visit to LaPlata. Thanks, Dee!
