Im from England and I saw this tea room driving by with me mate. DO NOT CALL YOURSELF A TEA ROOM IF YOU DO NOT SERVE TEA AND TEA THAT IS BOUGHT IN AN AMERICAN GROCERY STORE IS NOT I REPEAT NOT TEA

    Tearoom response:

    Dear 'Horribly disappointed lady',

Thank you for stopping by. We are NOT a Tea Room, but a TEA SHOP, offering fine, rare teas which I doubt you will find in a typical American Grocery store (as you stated). On occasion, we have offered sit-down teas, but only for special occasions and by reservation for groups, etc. We once tried to offer tea on a regular basis to the public (on Fridays, and Sundays) but got very little support, so now only do this for groups such as garden clubs, etc. by previous arrangement. One major event which we do once a month, and which has been quite popular, are our Tea Talks and Tea Tastings. At these events we do serve (buffet style) scones and tea. If you could come to one of these events, you would discover our raison d'etre -- educating the American public regarding fine teas and how to enjoy them. Many of our customers are from England, and not long ago one of them remarked that in England you can not always get good tea -- as in this country, you have to know where to go. By the way, if you do come back again, and we hope you will, please read some of the positive responses we have received as noted in our guest book on the counter. This year, by the way, is our 30th year in business.
