Mitties Restaurant and Tea Room
I attended a baby shower at this tearoom yesterday and was disappointed on all levels. The most obvious deficiency was the lack of air conditioning. The entire party of twelve women, including one who is eight months pregnant, was sweltering in 95 degree heat, with a small portable air conditioner providing no relief. Upon contacting the manager to ask if they were aware of the air conditioning situation, I was informed that they had been aware of the issue and had been trying to fix it for a few days. Unfortunately, no apology was offered and the manager did not seem to think it was appropriate to inform the party ahead of time about this situation. In comparison to other tearooms, I found the food to be mediocre and not representative of a real tea room experience. The sandwiches and desserts were not freshly prepared, and obviously originated from frozen, pre-packaged sources. The tea selection was limited to a handful of tea bags pre-set on the table. The service was unfriendly and no one came by to check on the party. Overall I would not recommend this tearoom, especially if you are planning a special event.
