  • The Pleasanton Hotel

Pleasamtom is one of those rare towns that still has an old-fashioned Main Street. On that street stands the Pleasanton Hotel serving lunch and dinner and it's decorated ala turn-of-the-century so don't expect a 'cute little tea-room'. But they do a very nice job with your table. You must have reservations to enjoy afternoon tea so when you arrive your table is already complete with a teapot at each place setting in colorful teacozies and napkins have been artistically arranged. There's a large three-tiered tray also on the table . Our waitress was wonderful. She took our tea orders and removed the teapots and when she brought them back, she requested that we allow our tea to steep for a couple of minutes and she would come back to pour the first cup. All of the teas were loose-leaf. Then the chef came out with the plates of goodies and explained what was on each plate. There was one plate of large sandwich squares (four kinds) and two plates filled with dessert items and scones. More food than you typically get. I highly recommend the Pleasanton Hotel especially if there are men in your party who flinch at doilies.
