Gypsy's Tea Room
I went to Gypsy's today with my mother, our first time there and we had the full afternoon tea. Our offerings consisted of salad with balsamic or basil ranch dressing, a butterscotch scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, tea sandwiches (cucumber, salmon moose, ham salad and french baguette with apples and cheddar cheese) fresh fruit, and for dessert we had a light moose (tasted like gingerbread, shortbread cookie, and a chocolate cupcake creation) everything was PERFECTION. We absolutely loved our experience, it was all delightful and delicious. My mother and I were both happy with our tea choices, I had Anniversary Blend and she had Lingg Chung (I think). Both of us were very impressed. Our server was very sweet but seemed a little overwhelmed, she had us, two other tables in our room and I'm not sure how many others, but she was still sweet and did an excellent job. Other staff were very helpful and nice and very knowledgeable about the products. Jo helped us make tea purchases and was very helpful with information regarding the teas we were questioning. All in all a great experience and one that we would do again in a heartbeat! I also love that the staff was dressed in late 1800's fashion, it helped create a great atmosphere and really let you think it was tea time. The decorations were spectacular, the setup of the house is very quaint and inviting. The gift shop offers TREMENDOUS variety and selection of goods, and the tea shop does as well.
