August Tea Room
My husband and I have stopped at the August Tea Room several times now, once for a full tea and several times at the bar where we can get tea and an a la carte plate of savories or plate of sweets. We’re very impressed by the quality of the food, all made by the tearoom’s pastry chef (we’ve seen her bustling about when we were sitting at the bar). The full tea we had before, I think it was the Royal Tea, was so filling we were quite stuffed at the end. It was beautifully balanced between sweet and savory and had a lovely variety of textures and colors. Considering the intense effort that goes into making these foods, and the high level of customer service demanded by this kind of establishment, we feel the prices are very reasonable. We’ll be back, since this is one of the few places in town where you can stop, relax, and feel the day slow down. Highly recommended.
