Today I had the perfect 'girls' tea that had a special touch I haven't experienced before @ other tea rooms. There are only 8 tables in the floral & green decorated room so reservations are recommended. After being seated @ a vintage themed table with linen, candle, silk flowers & pretty mismatched china you are offered a warm lavendar cloth to freshen up with followed by a gingersnap & sample of the tea of the day. The apron & flower clad servers are happy to make suggestions from their large choice of teas. Teas are brewed in the back & pre-strained before being served to your table. If you happen to not like the tea you selected they will happily serve you another choice. The limited menu offers traditional tea plates ranging from $7-$20 are served on a tierred server garnished with fresh flowers. The sandwiches & savories are changed each month. I got the Queen's tea that had a SW theme of 6 finger sandwiches, 3 savory bites, fresh fruit, a warm scone with jam, lemon curd & Devonshire cream. Dessert was a petite four, lemon cookie & toffee bar. Service is attentive but not rushed. @ the end of your tea you are served a mint & offered hand lotion. Some of the proceeds go to local charitable groups. There is a small gift shop of jewelry, dolls, tea items & note cards in the front with a serve yourself area of the tea of the day & lemon cookies. Great location to explore the shops before or after tea. Free 2 hour street parking readily available. I shall return!
