Simpson House Tea Room
Had a wonderful Royal Tea for Two today here. The tea sandwiches were fresh and varied, the soup was chicken rice and very good, the salad greens were mixed and crisp, the dressing was lime-balsamic and very tasty. The scones were delightful, soft and moist served with lemon curd, Devon cream and jam. We had two different Easter teas that were fabulous! And the desserts were warm gingerbread squares, crumb cake with mixed fresh berries and a scoop of peach sorbet...fabulous! It was very disturbing however to hear two women behind us who also got the Groupon offer to say they thought it was too expensive if they didn't have the half-priced Groupon. Are they kidding? Have they been to many tea rooms? $48.00 for all that food is NOT expensive. The labor and love that goes into tea sandwiches make them worth every penny and these were fresh and very filling. It makes me sad to hear people say that as I know the owners run specials like this to introduce people to their tearoom...people that they want to come back. I can guarantee the owners that my friend and I WILL be back. Job well done Simpson House!
