The Potted Geranium
Last week my husband and I had the loveliest dining experience since coming to the Reynolds Plantation area six years ago. From the moment you walk into the beautifully renovated mansion and are greeted by the gracious owner you know you are in for special experience. It is truly a step back in time to the Victorian age. We see why this is considered one of the top tea rooms in the country. The ambiance is one of quiet elegance - no cell phones please. We ordered the Duchess high tea which consisted of Quiche and Soup or Salad; a full compliment of tea sandwiches (all made fresh on the premises) delicious scones which were some of the best we ever had: and delightful mini deserts. Our apricot tea was presented piping hot in a delightful tea pot and cozy. Everything was served on exquisite china. Our server was a delightful young woman with a lovely Russian accent that only added to the atmosphere. Other light fare is available if you so desire. It was so nice to have beautiful soft music in the background. Be sure to visit the lovely gift shop before leaving where you can purchase teas that they serve in the tearoom as well as many other delightful items. We certainly give it five stars and more if they were available. We can't wait to return and we encourage anyone who is looking for a unique and delightful dining experience to try it.
