The Pink Bicycle Tea Room
Must admit to being disappointed on our recent visit to the Tea Room having reviewed the website and anticipating the typical tea room experience. A reservation had been made for 12:30. We arrived round 12:20 but were told we were early and the table might not be ready. When we were seated, there was only one other table occupied. The option of teas was wonderful and the teas we selected were delicious, but the temperature was only tepid when it arrived, and it was never replenished or reheated. At 1:30 we still had not received food but thought it was probably being freshly prepared. The food finally arrived after another 30 minutes and was presented on one single cake stand - the scones were stone cold, only two savories (didn't taste like homemade); however, the jam was delicious. The teas were nice flavors but would have been much more enjoyable hot. I hope this was just one unfortunate incident because I love the idea of a Tea Room in Occuquan especially on a nippy autumn day, but this time the 'niceties' amenities and ambiance expected were missing.
